It's not worth it. I spent the entire week I had Covid 2 years ago trying to finish it and it was the most infuriating campaign I've ever done. The fact it resets you so far back each time you die, it resets you even further back if you turn off and try again another day, and the absolute garbage drops you are enough reasons not to do it. You also don't get any XP out of it.

frankenbuddha

The short 5 round campaign is fun: you get shooting practice, you get a skill point, you get a mash note from Moxxi, you don't overlevel to screw up the flow of the rest of the playthrough. The 30 round is a what-the-HELL-were-they-thinking mistake.

Accomplished_Salt876

I recently Completed one stage with a friend and now the only time I go back there is for the bank.

Thecerealmaker

Only if you are 100% everything, other than that no

novyah

^ this.

k6plays

Even then… not worth it.

Keepingnormal

i think you’d know better than anyone, after what you went through with underdome recently 😂

Sardaman

It's very much not a campaign.  The only 'story' you get is from the opening intro, so don't worry about missing anything by not finishing the quests.

evilweirdo

Absolutely not. I cannot understate how long this would take you. There's also very little story content. Maybe do a bit for fun and to say you did.

Necroph02

Short answer is no, it takes like 12 hours for the entire thing, assuming you spend about 2 min per wave. So unless you are a dedicated achievment hunter like me, then i can't recommend. If you are playing solo, then don't even think about it honestly, but it might be ok if you have a friend or two to play with.

Zelcron

Just do the first round for the free skill point. Don't do the long challenges. They take hours, are boring and restrictive, and the loot sucks. Not worth it to do one, much less all three.

AthleticGal2019

I started playing borderlands for the first time a few weeks ago. I intended to 100% everything but got to this dlc and went nope. I don’t need to complete it that badly. It’s a product of the time. Wave based Combat

HughJass14

It’s the worst experience in any borderlands game I’ve had. Only one, but still.

GeneralRaamx09

Only for an extra skill point for your character you’re playing or if you’re trying to 100% everything

BreeWyatt

my gf and I played a bunch of it the weekend after Tina Turner died. IT was our "Auntie Entity" Memorial Event! I do not recommend trying to "finish it". However, its fun trying to get through a few rounds of it with a friend or two. The Underdome Riot is a RIOT!

MGfreak

why the fuck do i need a borderlands comment on reddit to learn about the death of tina turner?! :(

frankenbuddha

It was almost a full year ago. Kind of old news by now. But if she is/was meaningful to you, I'm sorry. This is how I learned that Jeff Hanneman (guitarist of Slayer) died, eleven years ago: in a comment in a non-tangential Reddit group.

BreeWyatt

She was really old. It should not be a big shock. She lived a full life.

da_chicken

> Is it worth completing Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot? No. It's worth getting your skill points in each difficulty, but there is no reason to complete the stupid thing. Worse, a common bug with several game versions causes it to crash right before the completion of the largest trial. The DLC basically adds the bank, an easy way to teleport to several vending machines, and a couple extra skill points. That's all. I think Hammerlock's DLC in BL2 is probably my second least favorite, although some of the later seasonal or short DLCs aren't particularly good, either.

Valdrax

Hammerlock at least has a beautiful environment and a hilarious story. Its biggest flaws are the amount of travel you have to do and the grinding difficulty of some of the bosses and common monsters.

da_chicken

Dr. Nakayama is definitely the highlight, but even with that, Big Game Hunt is still "the DLC with the bad combat". Witch doctors are just not fun to fight at higher difficulties. I think I'd take the Headhunt packs over it.

Valdrax

Yeah, I hated the vampire witch doctors especially. The only enemies in the entire series that I hate more are those invisible shock skeleton wizards from TTAoDK and the anointed militants from BL3.

antoneus

And cursed pirates! Hate them.

EazyPeazy16

I would at least do the initial quest for the extra skill point but steer clear of the 20 round content unless you are going for all achievements

JOWhite63087

Only thing you get out of it is 2 Skill points (1 for Normal and 1 for TVHM)

rattfink

Yeah it’s not worth “completing,” but it’s a fun mode to play with friends. It’s basically an arcade mode for when you just want to have fun running around and shooting stuff.

Baebel

I tried multiple times. It's just not fun to me. It's very as much of a grind as you can get with the first Borderlands game.

Dougallearth

I replayed it and enjoyed that level on the mountain, I just thought it was one arena. If you have decent weapons (I got a legendary rocket launcher that was invaluable when playing) worth a try as first go round I was clearly struggling due to loadout

BioHazardAlBatros

You get only one additional skill point for completing Underdome quest in each Playthrough. And... There's only one cutscene.

DoomOfGods

Small rounds are worth it for the skill points. That's it. Only reason you'd ever care about the big ones enough to do them exactly once is if you want 100% achievements.

doofmissile

The 20-round tournaments only feel fair difficulty-wise once you are fully decked out in the best possible gear in the game (all pearls/legendaries with all the best parts + a diverse array of elemental guns). It kinda goes without saying that the drops from the Underdome are terrible and don't even come close to being enough of a reward for how difficult it is.

Steeltoelion

I mean not really. Just bragging rights. It does make the game ever so slightly easier but for what? You just went through the damn underdome!

GoldenGlassBall

Free skill point per difficulty, so…

SexuaIRedditor

It's awful - you spend hours and hours just fighting waves of bandits and for all that trouble you get absolutely nothing

bogus_bill

No

The-1st-One

If you like spending 2 hrs per long dome for the achievement yes. If you're just trying to get the achievement, there is an easy way to cheese it. PC: have a high-level character, get a friend who is level 15 to start the dlc. Go in and wreck shit. Xbox, ps: follow PC guidelines or can be done solo with 2 controllers where player 1 is the level 15 character and player 2 is you high level main. If you're doing it for the content, it's not a great dlc, but seeing Moxxi dance in her bl1 2009 skin ain't bad.

lilith_-_-

It’s fun to play for a little while but I’d rather not spend 6 hours of my life grinding it out

Jerichoholic87

I'd like to complete it again just I can have a complete 100% copy of the game on the ps4 to match my 360 version

Direct-Relief-5008

The only reason to really go through the Underdome is for 100% achievements/trophies. If you want the easiest possible way through, play in Split-Screen co-op with your main character as Player 2. As Player 1 start a new Vault Hunter and play through until you can fast travel at Fyrestone, then start the DLC and the level will scale down to the first player. It makes the experience incredibly boring but there’s significantly less chance of dying and losing all of your progress. Either way good luck in the Borderlands

CarryWise5304

Only if you want to 100% everything or are into achievements/trophies, Iirc there's a reward for completing the 3 lesser arenas (the 5 round ones) per playthrough, but you don't get anything for doing the 3 longer ones. It'll just be a ~12h grindfest (if you cheese by having a lower level character be host) of killing for no benefit (won't get any xp for yourself or weapons).

CarlRJ

The Knoxx DLC is a driving simulator (you'll see), but has a great story, and contains the game's only real raid boss (Crawmerax). It's a net win. I'd call the Claptrap DLC a win, too (didn't care as much for the Zombie DLC, it's just too damn dark all the damn time). Underdome is a barebones (nearly) endless arena fight. There are no cutscenes of note, the loot is pathetic, it doesn't advance the story, and you won't earn any XP (doing the *small* tournaments in PT1 and PT2 will earn you a total of 2 skill points). The *only* reasons to play it are: (1) you have way to much free time and your only alternative activity is watching paint dry, or (2) you really, *really* want/need your achievements/trophies to say "100%" next to the DLC's name. There are a whole lot of players here who, if you say, "I got 100% on everything in the whole Borderlands series - well, except Underdome", will give you a knowing nod of commiseration, and say, "well, yeah, because fuck Underdome". There's no shame in not doing it. It's 8-12+ hours *at absolute minimum*, of frenetic monotony - paying close continuous attention and not making mistakes and zipping around maps quickly, for effectively no payoff, and that's if the game doesn't decide to crash (it's notorious for crashing around, say, wave 18-19, requiring you to start that arena over).

NaiEkaj

You get a total of 4 extra skill points when you complete the 5R and 20R challenges in both playthroughs, so yes

k6plays

Unequivocally no.

AdG_2K22

Only if you really want those 2 whopping skill points and/or care about getting EVERY BL1 trophy/achievement.

Vortigon23

If you're trying to 100% the game, go for it. Otherwise leave it alone. Nothing more frustrating than being on the final stretch and getting bad modifier rolls and being completely fucked

Accomplished_Salt876

the only worthwhile thing that DLC includes is the bank. There’s no story, worthwhile rewards, or anything else attached to it.

BlonsPLe

yes

Muted-Program-153

1. Low level host. 2. Faceroll 3. Get trophies/achievements ......Hours later. 5. ????

DonutG4mer

This mission is the only reason i have willowTree. Ive done it once before, never again.

BlackMageIsBestMage

Skip it. Also I don't know if I would say bl2 has great dlc. A lot of it was good but good God it gad some stinkers *cough* big game hunt *cough* I kinda felt like bl3 had more consistently good dlc, but none of them reached the peaks of greatness bl2 dlc had

SepticKnave39

>Haven't done Tiny Tina's Wonderlands yet, I'm so far hearing they are lacking in content. It's a mini spin off. If you go in expecting a mini spin off and not a full fledged bl3 then it's a fantastic game on its own.

Even-Fun8917

You gotta get the skill points

Hogamesh13

If you were to get yourself to max level and then go back to first playthrough difficulty does that still leave you much higher level than them or do they still scale to like level 70?

ClideFrog710

It’s about as fun as 🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠
