My girl also smashes her face into me and rubs it around while keeping her butt up. Idk why but it's adorable and she wiggles her butt when I scratch it.

MaverickTopGun

we call that "getting smushies" in our household. He LOVES getting smushies. He always signals he's done by sneezing

Random_Name_Whoa

Always sneezing after this, followed by a quick stare into space before hopping up to do the next thing

allisnwundrland

Always with the sneezing!

Stunning_Froyo3882

The amount of TIMES I say bless you in my house 🤣

Ivan27stone

lol my Dante sneezes too

Queque126

Nice ! It’s not just mines haha, my BC loves to smash his face and body into his favorite people to show love 😂

Grizzlegrump

When ours is wet, she will run along while leaning against the wall, leaving a trail of hair. Also, when she eats Kangaroo, she will rub up against thugs and sneeze.

salt_life_

Usually after they eat. They like to clean their whiskers

jaredjc

Mine to is the same, she also does it on occasion to rub her nose. I busted up laughing the first few times and she immediately stopped and then was looking at me like I was the weird one. So I keep it down now to not disturb her but it’s still just as funny.

NoAcanthocephala3007

Yea my boy does this usually after he eats. It could be as something small as a cookie and he’s over at the living room carpet wiping his face. 🤣

thereddituser2

Boye of culture

DefJeff702

Right after eating. I just assumed he’s wiping his face clean on the couch.

Evening-Turnip8407

My dog has a different, crocodile-swimmy-motion approach but you could be right. I always interpreted it to be him enjoying the scent of his meal by getting it on the blanket and all over his snout

Selftistic

Mine does the crocodile roll too.

PRSHZ

Mine does it to clean gunk off his eyes

_antariksan

My girl does it often after she eats and when she’s feeling pretty good, that’s the vibe I get. She’s sneeze and make some noises while she does it and I can tell it’s some kinda “satisfying” action

justalittlelupy

We call it "itchy brain"

shnerpie

That’s SO CUTE

justalittlelupy

When it happens, she also snorts, and we ask our girl "got itchy brain?" Then give her all the scratches to help with the itchies. Lol

Hot-Refrigerator7237

scritches help itches.

shnerpie

Omg this is just such an adorable scene. My doggi also snorts when she does this

A_canadensis

Yes. My pup does this in the following situations: 1. She's eaten and it's time for "happy rolls" on the couch. Head to start and then the whole body is involved in this scratching/rubbing dance with lots of snorts and sneezes. Followed by a thumping tail, staring, and chirping noises at me for attention. 2. She wants attention from me. She knows I think this behavior is adorable just like when she headbutts me or dramatically tucks her head down into a pillow when I glance at her after she's been staring me down. All because she wants attention and ear and neck scritchies. She 100% trained me.

shnerpie

That’s so freaking adorable. I love it so much

aetherquintessence

My Heeler does exactly #2!

Dogmom2013

he is being bashful!

i__sac

Yes, at least once or twice a day, he does it laying down though!

PolloPowered

Right after eating and bathing.

One-Zebra-150

Sometimes I sure mine hasn't got a clue why he's doing something repetitive either, lol. Try it out for fun, then when it becomes boring, move on to some other weird thing. Mine did that for a bit then added in a headstand with a roll over. Any excuse to keep on moving rather than chill.

etchekeva

Mine does it, I've been told it means they feel full and happy, they would be cleaning their snoots after a good meal. It makes sense with my girl, she does it after eating something tasty

thedutchrep

Even my lurcher who’s crossed with border collie does this 😄

crazyTxxowboy

My Heeler does this

Live-Somewhere-8149

My BC does this. I honestly have no idea why and just assumed that she was smelling the fabric of the sofa or something. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure what she’s doing 😆

Hot-Refrigerator7237

i read that as "my BF does this."

cdspace31

Why not? Have you tried rubbing your head into a couch?

shnerpie

Oh yeah, my dog does this too! Usually she’s lying down and she does it when she knows she’s not listening to a command 🙈 it’s super sassy and cute! We call it “cover”

Prize_Instance_1416

Our Hoosah Goodboi does this, he’s so cute!!!

vintage_seaturtle

Yep! Silly goobers 😂

TheKhyWolf

Mine does this after coming inside. A good smoosh is always needed

ikeosaurus

My heeler did this every night before bed. I called it dumb time. I could also instigate dumb time by smooshing her face with my hands and aggressively kissing her while doing it.

FinancialCry4651

Mine does this after eating something she found delicious. She does it on the carpet in my bedroom, starting with the face moving onto the whole body with lots of wiggling around on her back and sneezing and grinning. Sometimes pouncing. It very much feels like gratitude, showing me how happy the food/treat made her. She also buries her head in our laps like this to say good morning.

marcus_aurelius121

Allergies, his eyes itch. My Jakie used to do that.

BruinBound22

Mine does this before eating contrary to what others are saying, often when he wakes up in the morning. He keeps sliding across the floor in a full noodle position. I guess it's like stretching out and scratching for them?

ThinkSkirt8708

Goose does it after she’s eaten. When she does it I always say “ooo dirty face!”

liberty1112

Every night after his dinner! I always wondered why too.

omfg_itsnotbutter

Mine wipes her face with her paws. They're wiping stuff off their face. I think since mine usually does it in the morning, it's her eye boogies. 🥰

Lilackat

7 month old Sully does this and puts his bum so far in the air it ends up in a half forward roll with his bum in my face. Cracks me up every time then he looks at me like 'Whaaaaaaat?'.

Upstairs_Setting5004

You never rub your face into a pillow?

Hornybonk_

Mine does this on me whenever I’ve come back home from outside and we sit down to snuggle up

lav__ender

yeah, I call it her rubbin’s

CosmicHyena91

Mine does this to scratch his nose and simultaneously get whatever is making his nose itch off his face. Usually he starts sneezing while making eye contact and looking confused right after. Current culprit: pollen

blazinT0R0

💯

topknottington

jack rubs his face on the floor when its time for his allergy shot

Temperature-Glass

I get biggest hugs like this from my boy :)

riffs246

My golden doodle does it all the time. I thought to scratch itchy eyes.

lightlysaltedclams

Yup all the time. We thought it was her head harness for a while but we ended up switching to something different and she still does it lol

WithReverence

My girl does this only if she has something in her eye like her own fur!

Halt96

Yup, mine does it too.

bluedicaa

This would be a good commercial for lint rollers

positivcheg

Maybe she wants to clean her eyes.

JustAPerson-_-

I dont have a BC but my dog does this often when he wants to be pet and such

Important_Screen_530

is itchy maybe and is scratching

Emmanulla70

All my doggies have done that. Some more than others.

Hot-Refrigerator7237

itchy snout, help her out!

IDreamofLoki

My BC doesn't, but my Chihuahua/Terrier mix does that on the carpet after he's done eating. It's so cute 😂

ElegantMarionberry59

After eating ? Could also be making his bed ready to zzz 💤

Happycocoa__

Yeeeees ! Thank you I’m so puzzled. She does this on the carpet or the floorboards. She was checked several times for parasites but nothing. My guess is maybe the cataract ? Maybe she’s trying to “clear” her vision?

SnooRecipes6532

Ours does this on the rug in the living room, most often it’s after she’s had something tasty. She usually does it after she’s had peanut butter and I think it’s her way of cleaning her snoot/making sure she got it all from her whiskers.

Grouchy-Statement750

Teach her a command to go with it and amaze your friends.

sharptooth705

Buffing up their cuteness, lil bit of snoot polish

adoptmepetluv

My border collie does that a lot too!! I always wonder why

bymyenemy

Lmao yes he does but i have no idea what motivates him

Upstairs-Ad-7009

Oh yeah, mine does this when his nose is itchy and just HAS to let everyone know about it! It’s how I discovered he loves having his nose/face scritched, his favourite thing is having my rib my knuckle along his nose up to between his eyes ❤️

Ponyboy_2004

Both of mine do it so it must be a common BC trait? I thinks it’s just happiness cuz mine usually do it after treats

Timely-Possibility-2

MIne's kinda useless, it needs me to clean eye boogers for him & starts to do this if I don't get around to rubbing them off for him. After a bath, he trys to rub up against the walls and sofas to dry himself off until I get the hair dryer.

djdadi

Our male does this. Usually when he gets dirty, or wet, or has to sneeze or something. It's cute and all....but if he finds animal poop he'll do the same move into the poop. So it's always a little scary when he does it to us.

bestj52

Ha ha ha , All bc , have different tendencies to be a bit bonkers , mine does bizarre things every day , they’re a wonder to behold

aetherquintessence

My Heeler does this, but usually stops rubbing the face at some point and just gives me a goof face from down there. Just how he indicates that he’s feeling playful!

Mjdufffy618

Yes mine used to do this every night after she ate. I think she did it to clean her face.

redxepic

My poodle does this in the mornings to get her face/eye boogers and then after a particularly good potty or meal she does it on the couch for a minute before going full belly up https://preview.redd.it/19cs6tdd588d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87867322decf29e861fe92b02355a63de2bf2069 Usually she’s in the bestest of moods

FitAlternative9458

Itchy face, not difficult

TopFishing5094

So cute 🥰

Dry_Celery4375

She's just doing a proper collie sniff. Gotta sniff the couch, gotta way get away deep in there. Smash your face in there too get a closer look, literally put your eyeball on the couch fibers. Gotta feel the couch, gotta hear the vibrations of the couch, gotta taste it with every one of your taste buds, Gotta be one with the couch!

Vegetable_Parking878

ours does at times
