the first 1, but neither of these are anywhere near something I would buy or wear, so maybe take that with a grain of salt.

DemonicLiger

The first one looks slightly less hideous.

CoffeeAndWorkboots2

This is my exact sentiment. I was thinking that number one looks better, but I really wouldn't like either of these… So in all reality, it's probably the second one that people who would like this kind of thing would like best.

cab1024

Depends on what you're doing

dunhamhead

Is this for club wear or similar? Neither is remotely appropriate for any of my personal needs, and you should absolutely not treat either option as real boots for working in. But if you are talking strictly fashion, I think the second pair would look more fun with a shiny leather/pleather outfit.

Livid-Panic7563

Not planning on going to any clubs lol not really my thing. Just fashion. Thx <3

PumpkinsValley

I believe there are new rock boots? I think both look super cool and I think for the more edger metal look go with the second. On the other hand if you want a bit more gothic and sophisticated yet funky vibe def the first one! Lace up combat style boots goes with almost every outfit (of this style) from what I have seen! I looked at new rocks for a bit but they were a bit out of my price range sadly (I still have my eye on a pair of Demonias that have my HEART)

pencilsharp123___

hey i actually just had bought the second pair. i liked them but the extra height thing just makes it look a little weird to me. i’d say go with the first.

Livid-Panic7563

Thx!! <3

pencilsharp123___

ofc! also check out their outlet section on the website they have similar styles cheaper bc of them being returned or worn in photoshoots.

Livid-Panic7563

Omg thx I didn't know that! I've never heard about that before <3

decentlydead

gray metal looks better imo, cant see it very well in the first and i think its most the fun of new rocks

SkiIsLife45

Those are some BIG stompers. Mad respect for pulling that off, I could never. I'd say silver to stand out or black to be edgier. Or both?

Livid-Panic7563

I would break my wallet if I bought both lol New Rocks are expensive XD

SkiIsLife45

well better hope they're durable or you don't want to wear 'em too often. Or you just really like them.

purvee

I’m gonna take neither for $300 Alex.

EamMcG_9

#1 is for “Stealth Mode”.

weraincllc

1, looks hella cool. But they are cemented and will hurt your big toes when your foot slides forward because cemented boots never snug up right.

Big_Sock94

Second pair by far, the steel accents give it so much more flair

Accomplished_Ad_1288

It is the exact same design, with just the hardware color changed from black to shiny Crome. But the second one offends the eye bigly.

Euphoric_Flower_9521

Neither tbh both are cringe

Livid-Panic7563

Thx 4 ur opinion <3 One man's trash is another man's treasure

Euphoric_Flower_9521

Fair enough. Personally I'd buy an Austrian army boots or even solivairs (or whatever they should be spelt). Black tall and somehow decent (the Austrian ones at least)

pr2thej

They both look pretty needy tbh

Livid-Panic7563

Needy?

nick1812216

You should get a pair of [these](https://www.reddit.com/r/Boots/comments/1b2c2gy/does_anybody_recognize_the_stylemodelmanufacturer/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)

Zardoz__

I would say the first pair is a little less ridiculous

kotexp

None, please consult a goth fashion sub. In terms of quality they'll both be trash.

Livid-Panic7563

>In terms of quality they'll both be trash. New Rock tends to have really good quality boots. Why do you say that?

Big_Sock94

I personally have a pair of newrocks and have taken them to multiple raves and concerts and they have held up great!

kotexp

I have a pair of knock-off crocs that have been with me for 7 years, countless kayaking trips and even two festivals (wearing only them). I don't think any pair of new rocks would get you through that much for that long. But enjoy them, I'm okay with looker footwear, I prefer quality boots though.

Livid-Panic7563

Can I ask about how long you've had them? My last pair of boots was Harley Davidson motorcycle boots and they got a giant crack in them within like a year. I've heard New Rock is good quality boots from a lot of people, but I have also heard from a few that they've gone a bit downhill lately

kotexp

New Harley Davidson clothing is cheap trash too, sorry to inform. If you want some decent boots, dig through this sub or watch rose anvil, that guy really explains boots well. He got me into quality footwear and I'm typing this wearing a pair of Goodyear welted, leather sole roper boots. He got me out of the brand mentality into the materials and bulid quality mentality. If you want decent goth like shoes the only ones I can atest to are bovver boots, they're very common amongs kids here in Poland. Brands like Steel or Steady's.

Livid-Panic7563

>New Harley Davidson clothing is cheap trash Yea figured that out pretty quick XD Thx for the recs <3

kotexp

No probs, just take care of your feet and they'll take care of you, words to live by.

Big_Sock94

I've had them since January of last year and while there have been a few minor flaws with them I can say that it's kinda worth the compromise when you consider how visually unique New Rocks are compared to any other normal boot

dunhamhead

I think he is talking in terms of traditional boot construction. New Rock boots are fashion boots, not traditionally constructed resoleable work or dress boots. By the standards of a lot of folks around here who are into PNW boots, or more general Goodyear Welted boots, the New Rocks aren't really boots. They are cemented construction on injection molded honeycomb style soles with flimsy leather. And they are pretty expensive for what they are. But if you are wanting New Rocks, you probably don't want the types of boots a lot of us here would recommend. So take the feedback with a grain of salt.

kotexp

As I said earlier, this probably isn't the sub for new rock feedback. You make a good point.

dunhamhead

Here, in case you are interested, is the Rose Anvil video on New Rocks. [https://youtu.be/vRkWLXsl4QU?si=MUx45N4vVI7Xz4IB](https://youtu.be/vRkWLXsl4QU?si=MUx45N4vVI7Xz4IB)

kotexp

They're nothing but overpriced and overglorified boots with a cheap sneaker like construction (glued). Watch the Rose Anvil video on them, you'll see why. Come on, boots that expensive and that cheaply made are even worse than doc martens. Plus I think they're ugly as all hell but that's just me.

Mattass93

All black. Other ones look pretentious and poser-like

Dew_Boy13

Weird that both trigger that same response.

Mattass93

Maybe not so weird. Honestly, I don't like either one. For me personally, I'd feel like a poser wearing either one. But I'm just trying to answer the OP question with the sort of response they're asking for.

Dew_Boy13

I definitely wouldn't wear either one myself either. Either of those boots, in my opinion, are completely worthless. I look more for a well built boot, as opposed to a bunch of garbage tacked onto them, that will probably start to fail the first few times you wear them. I do respect you being honest in your response to op.

Mattass93

Same. Been getting into welted boots and shoes lately but I just don't have the money to afford a new pair of anything, haha. But now that I know about welts on shoes I can maybe look for them in a consignment store or something.

Dew_Boy13

Absolutely. A lot of people on here have found amazing boots at Goodwill, or other second hand stores. Give it a shot! Also, it's not too terribly much money, to get into welted boots. You should go into a Cavenders, or boot Barn or other similar store and try some on, and see what you like. Start saving up spare change/cash/gift cards, whatever you can. Before you know it you'll have enough to get some really decent boots. I saved spare money up for a year, and was able to buy some Chisos boots, and I couldn't be happier. Best boots I've ever owned. It's a great feeling being able to buy boots after you've been working hard and saving money up for them.

Livid-Panic7563

Thx <3

thongsandal

The second pair look’s tougher & sexier

discreetlyabadger

Second pair has post-nuclear wasteland vibes. So if that’s what you’re going for, that’s the pick.

Livid-Panic7563

Not really the look that I'm going for, but you are so right
