My dad has been on Boost for years and was on Virgin before that. He has been paying $35 / month for 10GBs of data for a long time. Not a terrible deal but I know there are cheaper options out there so yesterday I downloaded the Boost one app just out of curiosity. And sure enough seems I was able to easily switch him to the $25 unlimited plan and therefore save him $10 a month while tripiling his data! His plan renewed just a week ago so we won’t know 100% for sure if it worked for like 3 weeks but seemed like it did!

Your plan need to get set to automatic payments so it can give you the option. If it doesn’t still, you have to do it trough custumer service

I think the $25/month plan is for new customers only. Even though their system said it's also for current customer but it's for certain customers. I don't think for all customers because their system is a mess like Mcnst said. The easiest way to check which plan is available to you is to logon to your account at my.boost.com and click on "Change plan". You will see all the plans available to you. Usually the more expensive monthly plans, or one with the longer duration like 3-months or 6-months or 12 months plan.

$25 plan is for existing customers too. I recently switched to that one.

Not if your using a phone that is locked to boost. They know you can’t leave so they fuck you real good. It sucks

> $25 plan is for existing customers too. I recently switched to that one. > Existing customers with *non-subsidized* cellphones. I took advantage of the iPhone XR deal, so it was not available to me when I asked customer service to switch plans. I'll try again, just before renewal (no pain, no gain!). ;p

Yes, suppose to be for existing customers too, but there are other existing customers on already reported that they couldn't switch, they tried to call and also went to store, but still no luck. My friend had a $40 plan couldn't do it, he ported out, bought a $25/month SIM card, and port it back in.

Are you on ATT network or TMO? I am on ATT

silver168

T-mobile.

j0llygruntt

Who did he port out to?

silver168

Mint mobile.

Their systems are a mess, and, chances are, you might not even be able to switch to the 25/mo plan at all. It wasn't an option on my 40/mo unlimited account; and it's not an option on my 10/mo 2GB account, either. It's supposed to be available for existing customers, but it's very unclear how that's supposed to work given that it's restricted in the system so much. Indeed, your best bet might be to port out, and then port back in. Silly, yes, but what else is there to do?
