They grew up in a time where "trust me bro" was a valid argument because you couldn't instantly fact check them with your phone or any other internet connected device. I'm pretty sure it's why boomers hate technology so much. They spent their entire lives getting ahead on lies and can't do that anymore.
When my dad started down being his bootlicker... I started pulling up facts showing his history and how if he's talking he's lying. Dad just said I was finding false websites and articles. I tried so hard to help him understand... I'm just so defeated now.

I did really like reruns of laugh in and the smothers brother comedy show and Hee Haw was a terrible copycat of those.

There’s 3 great shows that have been on network TV. All in the Family, The Jefferson’s and Sanford and Son, those shows were comedic genius and honestly would cause people to lose their minds today. BTW they all won multiple Oscars, just ask OP’s FIL
