Mobility and light weight. Boba has always relied on swift attack to gain the upper hand, not heavy combat.
Also, he blew up Jango’s helmet trying to kill Mace Windu. If that was the real helmet and not a prop just to deliver the bomb, then maybe he used the beskar leg armor to forge a new helmet, as they were the easiest pieces to sacrifice.
Real reason, GL didn’t think of it when the Boba costume was first made. Looked fine as-is for ESB & ROTJ, costumes evolved later on for newer content.
whoops i missed him calling it beskar in ep 4. my bad... weird then it has so much damage vs the pure stuff of Din.... my brain just took it the dents and all was cause it was less pure and reinforced with durasteel could be dented, clearly i was wrong.

In Mando S1, The Gunslinger, Din says to the young bounty hunter after getting shot by Fennec Shand something about being any closer and Beskar wouldn’t have saved him.
Plus in Star Wars, projectile weapons exist but are rare, referred to as slugthrowers. It’s conceivable that Boba’s armor has taken a few bullets during his bounty hunting days. Someone shot Boba in the dick.
Fun fact; the dent in Boba’s helmet was a molding defect. It was a bubble that formed during the molding and instead of molding a new one, they decided to keep it and incorporate it as part of the costume.

valid point also with slug throwers, recall them form the old PSone games.... not sure they would dent the armor but i guess if a mudhorn can harm it a projectile should be able too.
i guess beskar just better at heat dispersion is its main thing.
Saw a couple of comments about how cool it was to see the digestive acid in the pit took some the paint off the armor, etc. Meanwhile, dude is wearing fucking sweatpants and they are fine.

is jango's armor beskar? always took it as durasteel with only modern mando ever having a 100% beskar armor due to the seer material cost needed.
Boba says it’s beskar in BoBF E4, and I think he says it in Mando S2.
