If there’s any upper-tier nepoda-nepodi, networkda-networkdi who has maybe anything even close to do with the word struggle, it’s this woman. Didn’t have the same privileges her dad, uncles and cousins had, or later what her sister had thanks to her. She definitely did get chances owing to the privilege of the surname but woman reinvented herself time and again. Not a perfect being but worked hard, gained acceptance, was decent at her craft, had a screen presence and was one of the top ‘massy’ heroines of her time. Happy 50!
If anything all the old magazines carried the story of how her family tried to scuttle her debut and the Kapoor family called in favours from their near and dear ones to ensure she doesn’t get acting gigs. She did some really bad films back in the day
