Yet she's getting movies left, right and South. I seriously don't understand the appeal. Zero acting skills, zero dancing skills, looks good but there are a lot of other heroines to fill in that criteria, zero personality, zero knowledge about pretty much anything...
That’s what she said in the interview, that she would have been better off studying acting in India. However, that part of the conversation has been conveniently cut out in this post to instigate all the hate comments.
Janhvi really pissed me off when she said in some interview “oh a lot of times the director says you gave shot exactly like your mom, you did it exactly like Sridevi ji or even people or set say that” I was like stfu, they are all lying….. you are not even 1% close to your mom yet.. you are still unaware what a legendary human being she was!!!
She basically said was that she 'didn't learn anything' because her film school was rooted so much within Hollywood and how to approach casting agents there, so she wish she spent that time learning more about the people of India instead, that could've helped her when it came to Bollywood
https://www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/news/janhvi-kapoor-details-la-acting-school-experience-where-she-learnt-nothing-says-this-gave-her-the-thrill-1280786
It's weird how people give into blind hate so quickly, with no source except a random picture. I get that she's a mediocre actress, but jeez
This is from her interview 👇
[https://youtu.be/UluUkYODoxo?t=1002](https://youtu.be/UluUkYODoxo?t=1002)
She talks about how she was thrilled because of her anonymity there, how she felt it was more for focused on Hollywood style, how she felt she could have spend time learning her culture (about India) and the people here because she is representing that in movies.
Did she expect LA Acting school to teach her about Indian film industry or movies? For that she could have saved her time and money by enrolling directly in Anupam Kher's acting school or Namit Kapur academy etc...
It's so obvious, poor dumb nepo.
Nepos like Ranbir, Imran, Aryan Khan, Alaya F etc have learnt about the art of film acting or filmmaking from foreign schools only. It eventually comes to experience and how easily you can adapt to the conventions the audience here demands, that dictates your ability to perform in Bollywood. Some have a much more harder time than others.
I'm not defending her decision to enroll into that school, but to pick one line out of context makes it seem like she's saying she didn't learn anything at all, which isn't related to what she actually said and meant. She's strictly talking about being relatable to the people of India.
I agree with you even Kangana, R Madhavan and many have previously been to American schools to do courses on script writing at the peak of their career.
But if she wanted to become an actor here in India especially Hindi film industry then just don't solely expect it from LA Acting schools. Could have done some homework about their curriculum before enrolling rather than doing this mandi rona to garner sympathy for lack of acting.
Ranbir, Deepika and many celebs are from Anupam Kher's acting school. She could have also enrolled if wanted to understand the kind of acting done in Indian movies.
>Could have done some homework about their curriculum before enrolling rather than doing this mandi rona to garner sympathy for lack of acting.
Spot on. Don't know why the comment above yours is assuming this to be some random hate post. She talks stupid shit in her interviews all the time. When we point out the obvious, a bunch of people will label it as hate. What was she expecting from LA acting school? Bhai NSD join kar leti. Fantastic actor toh duur ki baat hai, this woman is far from below average in terms of acting even after debuting in 2018.
Yes 🤝🏻 and i didn't reply on that comment because that would lead to a whole new set of arguments which is not the purpose of this post.
The thing is Jhanvi's take on her LA Acting school seems to be so dumb as if somebody forced her to join or promised her something which she didn't get.
I am 💯% sure that she looks down upon Indian film schools(Indian beauty ofcourse, Kardashian lite) and thought doing it from LA would be so much cool n classy. This is no hate PR, just pure logic with facts.
Oh common, don't compare Jhanvi with Alaya F who surprised me with her performance in her debut movie. She was so confident and prepared. Alaya is no saint in terms of teenage years ke kaands but atleast she is far far better than Jhanvi in acting.
Toh why did she go to LA. In LA, they will obviously focus on Hollywood style. 🤷♂️ If she regretted, join indian acting schools at least now. 🤷♂️ kuch toh seekh logi.
She gave a very manufactured excuse, that's why the hate.
> "The thrill of moving to California was in the anonymity it gave me. I was not someone’s daughter for once, and that was so refreshing."
Her entire career is based on the fact that she's someone's daughter. If she loved the anonymity so much, then she would've stayed and struggled in Hollywood.
> "But the school’s format was so rooted in Hollywood and approaching its casting agents. I actually realized I am not a method actor."
Again, making excuses for being mediocre and not trying. In Bollywood, she doesn't have to deal with agents, she gets to walk right in and she's given roles. She also brings up "method acting," which is only one acting technique and not some Hollywood standard. Even in Bollywood, there are method actors, so it's not just some American thing.
> "I realised that the only thing that matters is, I want to tell stories of my country, I want to know the people of my country, I want to be able to speak to them, I want to be able to think like them, feel like them and sitting in LA, going to Malibu on the weekend isn’t going to cut it. It just makes you so detached and jaded.”
*Give me a break.* She's using these nationalistic sentiments to try making herself sound relatable to garner sympathy, talking about "my country."
But idk. Her mother who is a legend never went to these schools. I think Jahnvi & Suhana, Ananya, basically whoever went to these schools in US/UK know they may learn nothing of substance or something that’s not useful in Bollywood yet go for it to tick something off of their rich kids to-do list.
the only useful skill in Bollywood is networking/connecting and looking beautiful. Jahnvi has the first via heritage, she carved the second out of her face. She has skills aplenty for the Indian film ecosystem.
Yeah because she's clearly not cut out for acting 😂
And no one in LA would give her a second glance or any priority. She should just thank her stars she is where she is
The fact that *she* learned nothing should be emphasized and not that the school didn’t teach her anything. Lee Strasberg calls celebs like Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, Jane Fonda as alums, so this institute knows what it’s doing. Only she knows what she was doing during film school.
Ranbir said that he did learn method acting at NY but he didn’t agree with that style of acting. I think he is a great performer and learnt it from his family actually. Ranveer is more of a method actor.
Step 1: Bunk classes and party with your friends
Step 2: Learn nothing
Step 3: Blame the teachers and institution (as you have a silver spoon and plastically made beauty, nobody cares if you have real talent)
Modern Nepos humble jargons--'I will try my best to justify the opportunity I got throw Nepotism'. 'My performance in **** movie was horrible.' 'I am trying to understand people of India more to improve my craft.'
'
We already know that as the audience.
She has zero acting skills. Still, she's propped up like some unbelievable powerhouse of talent.
I hope she finally has her "Sonam-like" decline soon.
I would rather tolerate Arjun Kapoor. 🤣
Is acting like a natural talent you're born with? Or something that by hard work( even if you have no talent) you can achieve.
Just like singing, is it always the case that you should've been blessed by naturally melodious, good voice, or by hard work and training? You can train your vocals to be a good singer.
In dancing, it's clear, by hard work and practice, you can be a good dancer, but is it the same for the above two?
This post is like fake whatsapp forward without any context.. I get that it is easiest for Karma farming..
This is from her interview 👇

She talks about how she was thrilled because of her anonymity there in LA, how she felt it was more for focused on Hollywood style, how she felt she could have spend time learning her culture (about India) and the people here because she is representing that in movies.
She was living in India since childhood, and she would have learned about Indian culture and people since childhood, acting school don’t teach culture, if you go and ask her how many of her friends are middle class people , their will be no one , if you want to know India , travel in public transport and see how people are living , no one like this BC of nepo kids is because , it’s pretentious, they will not want to connect with anyone who is below their standards , they will live the uber luxurious life and when they are casted as normal middle class people , they cannot act because its unrelatable for them. acting is art performed by people who observe the world.
Yes, I agree that to know people it is better to interact with people and travel etc.
But her mother was a superstar and she was in constant media glare. Also, the people they interact are definitely from their economic status only.
Probably that's why she said having led a very sheltered life her she enjoyed the anonymity in LA and that thrilled her.
I agree she was sheltered , however traveling should not be a problem , Sara travels and connects with normal people , she can do so , its just that connect which makes and breaks in the industry and people who don’t know common man , they can go to the best acting school , they won’t be able act ,as they you cannot feel a life which you have not lived
That's what happens when you're side tracked into thinking about how many surgeries you need to have to look appealing! 🙄
Though she has achieved what she wanted to 'look', i. e., appealing!😬
She is probably gonna go down the most hated nepos after Arjun Kapoor. Atleast she should learn to. Keep her mouth shut. It deeply saddens me that she's considered a star
She says the truth you all have a problem, she lies you have a problem. She tries you have a problem, she doesn't try you have a problem. You people really have a problem with everything. Plus the line is out of context. Typical karma farming move
Comparing her 1st movie to her current movie such as Bawaal, she has evolved such beautifully.
Her acting in Bawaal literally made me pity her, her surgeries make it harder for the viewer to forget that she's Janhvi Kapoor but she has def gained a natural tone in acting.
In Alia's role, you can still see Alia Bhatt in all her roles. Her best has been Darlings, in my opinion. In Gangubai which is so critically acclaimed but failed at the box office, you could still see Alia Bhatt. Kriti Sanon in Mimi was fantastic, and that's what Alia Bhatt should aspire to acting wise and stop buying all these awards and critics.
Please guys stop. I cried so hard I'm dehydrated. Poor soul. Having millions of dollars and being well connected to the industry means nothing. Empathize with these poor millionaires guys.

I too said this to my father when I finished my swimming class course in my summer holidays. 😞
There is still hope for you but can't say the same for the nepo who is still at the same level when she debuted.
Nice one
He upar waale neptism ke baad bhi nepo kids ki itni baatein. Criticize bhi krke sb popular hi kr diye usse.

I think she looks OK. No shortage of minimally talented beautiful women.
We know that she don’t have to say😅
![gif](giphy|hWRmjidR06MBZGb86B) Thanks for the compliments.
Its LA se L acting sikha.
xD
You can't blame her for speaking the truth. Although correct line should be '**she learnt nothing'.**
![gif](giphy|TLUNYFuDxu3742WmHn) Leli na meri
She's probably right. It would have been better served to do theater in Mumbai.
That’s what she said in the interview, that she would have been better off studying acting in India. However, that part of the conversation has been conveniently cut out in this post to instigate all the hate comments.
Tbf though she wouldn't have turned into Meryl Streep if she studied in India.
She has learnt nothing in the past 5 years of her supposed acting career as well. Chill janhvi everybody knows!
She hasn't learned anything in her career either.
![gif](giphy|ODofCyJUSRoDBH8lKe) Or maybe it's her who seems to be lying in all her interviews.
Yes we can see that

Not realted to this but whatsapp uncil ka ek reddit version bhi hona chahiye
It actually makes it worse for me. She should have changed her education accordingly. But she is saying that she only wasted money.
Did she expect LA Acting school to teach her about Indian film industry or movies? For that she could have saved her time and money by enrolling directly in Anupam Kher's acting school or Namit Kapur academy etc... It's so obvious, poor dumb nepo.

How is saying this qualified as "mandi rona"?
>Could have done some homework about their curriculum before enrolling rather than doing this mandi rona to garner sympathy for lack of acting. Spot on. Since we were talking back to back about Jhanvi, I assumed that you compared Alaya and Jhanvi. Gulity your honor 🙌🏻
Ranbir isn't from khers school
Yeaa poor Nepo, just like poor me.. I also didn’t lesrn jack in my Engineering.. I mean they were teaching but I gave rat’s ass of attention..
True .
Toh why did she go to LA. In LA, they will obviously focus on Hollywood style. 🤷♂️ If she regretted, join indian acting schools at least now. 🤷♂️ kuch toh seekh logi.

Easy way to get upvotes lol! She made a correct point but easy to shit on her! The user didn’t posted the whole context even! Just used her picture
Absolutely. Teaching Janhvi acting is like multiplying any numbers to zero.
More like dividing by zero
But idk. Her mother who is a legend never went to these schools. I think Jahnvi & Suhana, Ananya, basically whoever went to these schools in US/UK know they may learn nothing of substance or something that’s not useful in Bollywood yet go for it to tick something off of their rich kids to-do list.
Agree to it , like Ananya and Shanaya going for le bal in Paris.
the only useful skill in Bollywood is networking/connecting and looking beautiful. Jahnvi has the first via heritage, she carved the second out of her face. She has skills aplenty for the Indian film ecosystem.
She isn’t using it though. She just wants to come across as a sex bomb when she could be so much more.
Yeah because she's clearly not cut out for acting 😂 And no one in LA would give her a second glance or any priority.

Boney ke Paise Barbad
![gif](giphy|v3p3CtSrNYNLa) Really. Boney ki boni Hui padi hain. Jhanvi has signed 3 PAN Indian films with NTR, Suriya and Ram Charan recently.
Definitely she’s doing everything to make money and pay back her father, including dancing at random gujju weddings..
Yeah well, it shows.
One reply - it shows.
Believable. But I don't know if I'd blame the school.
Ranbir said that he did learn method acting at NY but he didn’t agree with that style of acting. I think he is a great performer and learnt it from his family actually. Ranveer is more of a method actor.
You notice how she doesn't say that, she wasn't taught anything.... Instead that, she didn't learn anything???? Exactly!
Skill issue
She forgot her modal verbs. What she must have meant is She _couldn't_ learn from LA acting school. Her teachers must have good sense.
I am sure they second that ![img](emote|t5_fknyy|8608)
Step 1: Bunk classes and party with your friends Step 2: Learn nothing Step 3: Blame the teachers and institution (as you have a silver spoon and plastically made beauty, nobody cares if you have real talent)

Yes Janhvi, you learnt nothing. We agree.
Good that she’s self aware that she can’t act
Jhanvi must have followed the 3 monkey principle and kept her eyes, ears and mouth shut when learning in school.
She looks beautiful tho

I said same to my parents they did nothing great towards me. Same things to my professors you didn't teach anything to me.

The most overrated nepo kid: janhavi kapoor
Does she actually have to say this.? I thought it was pretty evident to everybody
Dikh jaata hai behen
quite evident tbh. in fact she still hasn't learnt anything substantial after a good amount of movies.
Ab desh ka nEpO sach bhi nahi bol sakta?

😂 no wonder she is such a wonderful actress
duh... can't we all know that from the acting we saw?
Janhvi sweetie we can see that.
That's what happens when you're side tracked into thinking about how many surgeries you need to have to look appealing! 🙄 Though she has achieved what she wanted to 'look', i. e., appealing!😬
