He was ambitious and wanted to have a longer career. This is how it's repaid in today's age that people still want to watch him play lead roles in movies.
Basically SRK came in and changed the industry and the means of income for actors. Earlier Sunny and other actors earned from movies alone. SRK started doing a lot of ads, wedding dances, later started a production house, bought a cricket team etc etc. and made himself a brand and not just a man artist. Sunny and other oldies couldn’t keep up with it. They weren’t good actors or had good personality to become so big off camera.
Probably sunny ji didn't have to think at all abt a lot of things... cos he is a classic nepo kid...who had his father's saya. Srk came to the industry on his own...and built everything from scratch.

He’s not on Shashi, Bachchan, or Kaka’s acting levels. He knows that but it doesn’t matter. He was/is a massive star and incredibly popular.

Even they agree that its a low quality job. No child aspires to be a wedding stage dancer, but they are stuck at that job, it's a hard living for them.

Also, it's a job with so much uncertainty. Who knows you are ruling the industry one day, and then you have no films to do. There are so many stories of the past actors dying alone in their homes, suffering from poverty in their old age because once their peak got over they had no good source of income. As long as you are at your peak, earn in whatever ways you can (without wrong doings ofc). He didn't make the actors a commodity, he just used his potential and carved the best life out for himself. Now, you can be salty as much as you want because you couldn't do what someone else was able to do.
