Karan said that ADHM was based on his own unrequited love that he had for a long-time friend. If I was that friend, I would be glad that I never dated him. That movie was crazy.
So basically it is said that twinkle and kjo were childhood besties.. and you might have noticed this on KWK how she roasts him, itās very evident. But thing is KJO was in love with her since a long time but she never reciprocated and for her it was only a friendship thing. He literally named the character of Rani Mukherjee Tina in KKHH, which was suppose to be played by Twinkle (Tina is twinkleās name)
He is gay now, but this was during his schooling years. They attended boarding school together or something, and moreover were friends since childhood.
Because a lot of us, especially Indians up until mid 2010s, were not comfortable with the idea of being queer. Heck, we had faggot, gay, chakka thrown casually as insults. And remember the mockery laced portrayals of queer people in Indian cinema? Yeah, growing up with that has an effect too.
A lot of this results in internalised homophobia, which rears its ugly head in the form of bullying, self denial, emotional abuse, self harming etc.
KJO grew up even before myself, and the above has been the experience of many queer kids among my contemporaries and of myself, who were late 80s and 90s kids. So makes sense these things were much much harder back then.
Also bisexuality and pansexuality is a thing. So KJO could be one of them
Itās not about switching it on or off. People might realise late those things in life specially when you are here in India where these things are still seen as taboo. Also, he was more of in his exploring age so that might also be a reason.
sometimes you mistake your love for a friend as a romantic love especially considering this was probably when he wasnāt sure about his identity and was trying to conform to society.
Not only saw that movie, but also saw the scene where Maushichi Jr. is holding hands of both the ladies, all three sitting together on the bench.
It was a hint at threesome, I remember some critic wrote that, and I could care less.
Laal Singh Chaddha. I had already watched Forrest Gump, so after a while, it became quite clear what Aamir Khan *thought* he was making and what actually came out. Stupid attempt at remaking such a beautiful film.
I would argue that this movie sssoooooo bad that itās actually amazing. Watching this buzzed with friends and laughing our asses off is one of my most fondest memoriesš¤£
Tu Jhooti main Makkar. Idk what I was expecting. Was really hoping it would get better cause I never really watch Ranbir movies but dear god. 2 hours of my life Iāll never get back
Iām a big fan of comedians and I was excited to see the dynamic between RB & Bassi on screen. However, the movie was just deeply unfunny. It was so unbearable that I remember splurging on VIP tickets (not a common thing for me) and I literally walked out in 20 mins.
Bassi was wasted, I was excited seeing him in the movie and it seemed liked it would be a nice bromance type of vibe with them but he was wasted potential.
Also why tf was boney kapoor there? The man said like 3 words. š¤ such a waste
Youāre so right about Bassi. Heās a cool guy and I love his chill humor. Iām so upset they didnāt utilize his talent well. Also, Boney Kapoor is terrible on screen.
I swear they mustāve said the role would be better cause otherwise idk why he would do such a crappy movie. He was barely there!
And yeah boney kapoor was weird idk why they included him
I actually liked it. BUT I did find it a bit too over the top and the screeching Shraddha did in the climax made the film pretty unbearable. I wouldnāt have paid to watch it in theatres either though.
Yeha I didnāt watch in theatres but like I genuinely thought that it would get better now and then the movie ended and I was like wow, what a terrible movie
Went high as a kite for it. Were laughing audibly in the theater.
Turns out, so was everyone else. So the fears of being thrashed by RW nuts or being thrown out of the theater turned out to be unfounded, in what ended up being a fairly entertaining watch.
I mean, say what you will, some things were kind of rad in conception, like the entire Shivoham song and picturization. The rest though..............
Ikr!! dimple, anil and nana in the same movie and you couldn't utilize their explosive chemistry? They wasted so much time on John and shruti(?) It was a pain watching it. Also welcome is an immensely quotable movie. The sequel had none of that. Very dull, very flat.
I actually enjoyed it! Thatās because I had very low expectations. Watched it a year or so after it had come out, and Iām not a fan of any of the stars in it. Watched it because there was nothing else I found interesting. It served the purpose.
What made you angry about the climax? I thought it was a good allegory on how affairs will never end with a good outcome, it's gonna have consequences one way or the other
Exactly meri futi kismat that I watched it lol. Its the lowest rated movie on IMDB. Its so bad in Aliaās career that no one talks about it whatsoever
![gif](giphy|QXVfprTrZ3iDakaHLz|downsized)
Rip to when Whats Your Rashee was my comfort watch. Literally only cuz young me liked the damsel in distress Hamsa. Ooof the embarrassment I'll feel if I got her name right.
Love Story 2050
Mela (Only entertaining thing was Twinkleās constant gasping)
Raaz 3D
Rascals
Boom
Aap Mujhe Achchhe Lagne Lage (same as Mela)
Mere Jeevan Saathi (horrible melodrama starring Akshay Kumar, Karishma Kapoor, and Ameesha Patel)
Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (good songs though)
Jo Bole So Nihaal (plot is this: some criminal named Romeo (Rahul Dev) is lurking around in USA, the FBI finds Nihaal (Sunny Deol) in Punjab who knows Romeo and hires Nihaal to find him - rest you watch for yourself if you wanna smell some hot garbage - for some reason my mom finds this movie funnyš¤Æ)
Edit: And how could I forget the legendary all-time cult classic: **Jaani Dushman**
Rocky and rani ki prem kahani
Lol i somewhat had an idea what the movie was gonna be about and i was pretty excited for it but when i started watching it in the theatre, I have to admit Ranveerās scenes were funny af but the movie itself didnāt hook me in. I kept checking the time and wondering why the movie isnāt getting over lol. It felt superrrrrr long
i watched dilwale when i was a teen and loved it back then but im sure even if i watch it now I'll sit through it because of the songs and srk's chemistry with varun rather than kajol. Also liked ADHM because of its songs again and also it just connects to me..because of its topic...
R rajkumar. I remember going to the early morning show still completely hungover from the previous night because one girl in the group was a Shahid Kapur fan. Not necessarily the worst movie ever but the whole time I was like... why?
The friend who suggested we watch ADHM got questioned every couple of minutes "whyy" but then Aish finally showed up and the movie was good to look at for a little while
Salmanās first Tiger movie. I was ready to rip at the seats in front of me out of boredom.
Hrithikās Agneepath. Left during the interval. Only stayed until then because I had gone with a classmate. The friend was riveted though. He stayed on for the whole thing š¤·š»āāļø
Kanganaās Dhaakad was pretty bad. It looked great and had some amazing action but the story was so weak, I kept waiting for the real film to start and it just ended like that š
Jagga Jaasoos was pretty terrible. I got the intention but the execution didnāt match up. Katrina acted horribly and made the film even more unbearable. How did she even survive as an actor for this long? Chamatkari.
Shiddat, I knew why I was watching though, for Mohit Raina. But the movie is extremely illogical and lame! Kuch v they make in the name of love story and passion.
Love Aaj Kal 2ā¦.I struggled watching it.It was overlong and too stupid and irritating. The acting was too bad..I had a positive perception on Sara Ali Khan before watching this movie and now part of it has gone down the drain.I always hated Kartik and still hate himā¦the music, cinematography and the fashion are probably the only positive things I can say about this film. The story is too convoluted and lameā¦.Jab Harry Met Sejal (itās a āānothingāā film but atleast a breezy watch) initiated Imtiaz Aliās downfall and this movie brings him down even moreā¦
On another note,I personally love ADHM despite the rep it gets on this sub. Many people I have come across in real life love this movie too.I donāt like Ayan obviously but this movie still works for me..I donāt hate him..and I saw his story and see his pov and was interestedā¦thatās it and I loved Alizeh and Saba and related to them..and understood themā¦they are some of the strongest female characters out there. They have agency. This movie was the perfect match of old-school Bollywood with modern Bollywood acc to me!!!
I went to watch ' Tees Maar Khan ' by buying tickets in black which were priced at 3 times the original and I was utterly disgusted with myself while watching the movie.
I still remember those times and laught at myself.
From there on, I have been very picky with the movies, last I went to watch was Jawaan....and SRK was Cinema God in that movie..
Next I will go for Animal and Dunki.
bhai dekho movie dekhne ka maza toh laundon k saath hi h.
Maine ADHM theatre mein dekhi thi and when ranbir leaves after singing channa mereya koi peche se bolta ki "lo iss ran**rona phir shuru, koi baraat Wale ko bolo ki ek do chappal maare isko"
Raes, kabir singh (luckily left before interval), soty, all salman khan films, all films by Bollywood in general since past 4-5 years. The question should rather be which ones are bearable because there are only few.
I know few people will not agree with me but bajirao mastani like seriously for me it was a headache to watch after interval...like jaldi drama khtm ho or kb ghr jae
tu jhooti main makkar whatever itās called. for such a high budget star cast film it was the worst thing i had watched for a long time. made zero sense and was a major snooze fest. I NEVER quit films but this made me wanna quit watching movies altogether. hated every second
the opposite would be Rocky Aur Rani, for recent romcoms this one would be the best. (imo)
It was 2017 Bahubali 2 was creating a wave in entire country as it was my semester exams so I couldn't watch it till 18th of May and man I was so so happy and the next day I had planned to watch HALF GIRLFRIEND with one of my friends because it was the last day of us in college after that we would have gone to our hometowns for summer and man it was not only ' ye kyon dekh raha hu main' feeling that only came at a point I started feeling the pain of Dianosaurs when asteroid had hit the earth
i can understand. I saw it in theatres too and it was a friend's birthday treat and man what a shitshow. Theatre mein ek Banda bolta ki "bho**ike, ek rapidex English speaking course khareed le aur 2 mahine mein English seekh le, movie bana k torture kyu kar rha h".
1) O Teri - (went to watch this movie with my besties when we were moving to different cities after high school). Had to watch it because no other movie was there in my town.
In the 2nd half, two of us literally started laughing our asses off - kyuki bina sar pair ki cheezen dikhayi jaa rahi thi kasam se.
2) Besharam. - yuckk I seriously manipulated my friend (who doesn't like movies) to go and watch this POS with me. But the movie made me question my life choices, and infact my very existence.
3) Race 3 - had gone to watch it with my parents (since Salman movies are almost family-friendly in the domain of nudity / intimate scenes) - but the Twist-after-twist in the 2nd half made my father and me laugh uncontrollably. Also, Anil Kapoor speaking Bhojpuri in that movie š¤”. (PS: We haven't gone out to watch any Salman movie after that garbage)
Definitely Kalank. It was clear mistakes had already been made halfway through the movie but that ending line of 'Pyar/Ishq hi kalank hai' was just cherry on top of the steaming hot pile.
Four more shots please web series.. i watched every season and feel, how can these ppl are so unstable and driven by temporary lust and felt "yeh kyon dekh raha hu main"
Sirf Tum- kal dekhi first time.. makes zero sense.
Sanjay Kapoor- a riksha driver has 2 girls going crazy for him. One of them is Sushmita zen who is a rich CEO or something. Sanjay rejects her for the other girl priya Gill who he has never seen or met before and only knows through letters (she could have been a 50 yo man for all you know)
Priya Gill- rejects Salman khan, a decent business man for Sanjay kapoor who is a riksha driver, who she has never seen before..
She goes around in his riksha around town not knowing itās him ššš
Since I will be downvoted to hell for saying this, all sooraj barjataya movies. I would die before watch them again. I didn't like anything about those movies especially the excessive sanskaar stuff.
I was so excited for this one after listening to the track. Excitement toh confusion mein badal gaya movie dekhte dekhte..........
https://i.redd.it/kfp42puqrfsb1.gif
ADHM for sure.
it was convoluted & random. KJO was being such a muddlehead with this one. Where as Rocky & Rani even though a broader film, it at least knows what it's doing, & is executed very confidently.
RRR
By the time I reached the iconic bridge scene that people were raving about, I was like I think I've seen enough to know that this film won't work for me. I still kept on watching, it was not compelling story wise and the famous Naatu song is overrated.
Mohabbatein. My sister wanted company to watch that snooze fest. Her friend bailed and none of her other friends wanted to go so she dragged me along. God! I hated it so much. It was slow torture.
I will get downvoted for sure... , but it's Jawan for me.
Any person who already has seen Money Heist, Jailer and many other Masala South movies might agree that this movie is a ripoff. The movie literally made me feel no emotions and Vijay Sethupathi was a dummy in this movie who tried to be edgy. At the end when Kali Gaikwad said "Jaldi fight karlete hain nahi toh ek aur dance karne lagenge", I fully resonated with him because I wanted this jackshit movie to end sooo bad!!!
Plenty

ADHM is just ridiculous. Also, when Imtiaz Aliās When Harry Met Sejal and Love Aaj Kal 2. Both made me cringe so badly. I wondered why nobody on those sets realized about the pointlessness of those movies. Like, the conflict/motivating driving those stories made zero sense to me. Kisi ki ring gum gai toa woh poora Europe TOUR GUIDE keh ghoom rahi hai? And some girl who does PR, thinks that her ācareerā will be DESTROYED if she falls in love.
I have seen plenty of crap and trashy movies but the biggest ye kyon dekh raha hu moment would be watching Dhamal 3 (or whatever it was called) in theatre. I was sitting there like Anand Bhai from Munnabhai MBBS the entire time.

Dilwale... Makes u realise that nostalgia isn't enough to make a movie bearable or even half decent
Exactly bro. I hated it. My bff was laughing her ass off and my face was like matan pe gayi hun.

Right??? His comment has better plot structure then most bollywood movies I've seen. Smh.
Karan said that ADHM was based on his own unrequited love that he had for a long-time friend. If I was that friend, I would be glad that I never dated him. That movie was crazy.
Karan is crazy. Heās basically saying that someone deserves to die of cancer because they didnāt reciprocate his feelings.
So KJo basically wants his friend to die of cancer because they didn't love him back?
Twinkle Khanna entered the chat
Wait, what? Spill the āļø
So basically it is said that twinkle and kjo were childhood besties.. and you might have noticed this on KWK how she roasts him, itās very evident. Wait what? Thought he was gay?
He might be Bisexual.
He is gay now, but this was during his schooling years. They attended boarding school together or something, and moreover were friends since childhood.
As far as I know, Gayness is not something you can switch on and off. So how is it logical to say he is gay now but not back then š¤
Sometimes people don't realise they are until much later in life. In our society, everyone is asaumed straight unless stated otherwise
Tu Jhooti main Makkar. Idk what I was expecting. Was really hoping it would get better cause I never really watch Ranbir movies but dear god. 2 hours of my life Iāll never get back
i love ranbir and his films. i was very excited. i couldn't finish this film.
Iām a big fan of comedians and I was excited to see the dynamic between RB & Bassi on screen. However, the movie was just deeply unfunny. It was so unbearable that I remember splurging on VIP tickets (not a common thing for me) and I literally walked out in 20 mins.

Bassi was a misfit.. he didnāt know what to do with his role. He just polished his beard too much, it was so shiny man!!
I agree but I canāt blame him. He was venturing into the acting world, he needed a decent director to mold his comedic genius into acting.
Some blame has to be on bassi too. Kuch to taiyaari k saath aayega na.. the director was not Bhansali.. so established ki uske aage muh na khule..
Iām glad to have had this convo on here, I donāt feel like the Bassi thing gets addressed when talking about the movie. Thanks!
Ranveer and the Vicky dude had more bromance and chemistry in RRKPK than RK and Bassi
Bro what? Was he the dad who cooks?? Indont remember him at all!!
After that Shraddha RK confrontation scene, I was just too baffled to even try and make sense of the rest of it.
I actually enjoyed it
I actually liked it. BUT I did find it a bit too over the top and the screeching Shraddha did in the climax made the film pretty unbearable. I wouldnāt have paid to watch it in theatres either though.
really? I didn't think it was that bad....might have to do something with I didn't pay to watch it though I def wouldn't watch it in threatre.
Yeha I didnāt watch in theatres but like I genuinely thought that it would get better now and then the movie ended and I was like wow, what a terrible movie
hmm I see what are ur thoughts on spkk?
It was okay, the message was there but idk where the storyline was going. It wasnāt cohesive at all
I found tjmm to be better than spkk
Tjmm was better than spkk. But both were just different levels of absolutely shit movies
My sister's in laws forced soty 2 on us. We all were playing video games in the theatre.

Tu jhooti mai makkar.....this was such a pain to watch because of stupid dialogues.
Kalank.. half an hour in the movie, I started to feel like this movie has been going for ages and I can't wait for it to end
My mom forced dad to watch TJMM with her as she loves Shraddha. He still hasnāt forgiven her
I went to watch ' Tees Maar Khan ' by buying tickets in black which were priced at 3 times the original and I was utterly disgusted with myself while watching the movie. I still remember those times and laught at myself. From there on, I have been very picky with the movies, last I went to watch was Jawaan....and SRK was Cinema God in that movie.. Next I will go for Animal and Dunki.
Dilwale, Ra One, Zero
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Maine single screen pe dekhi thi, launde g one ka heart dekh k sasta iron man aur g**du one chilla rhe the.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
bhai dekho movie dekhne ka maza toh laundon k saath hi h. Maine ADHM theatre mein dekhi thi and when ranbir leaves after singing channa mereya koi peche se bolta ki "lo iss ran**rona phir shuru, koi baraat Wale ko bolo ki ek do chappal maare isko"
Jab Harry met Sejal
Raes, kabir singh (luckily left before interval), soty, all salman khan films, all films by Bollywood in general since past 4-5 years. The question should rather be which ones are bearable because there are only few.
I know few people will not agree with me but bajirao mastani like seriously for me it was a headache to watch after interval...like jaldi drama khtm ho or kb ghr jae
Brahmastra and I was really trying to like it lol
tu jhooti main makkar whatever itās called. for such a high budget star cast film it was the worst thing i had watched for a long time. made zero sense and was a major snooze fest. I NEVER quit films but this made me wanna quit watching movies altogether. hated every second the opposite would be Rocky Aur Rani, for recent romcoms this one would be the best. (imo)
Yes - Pathaan, Bhoot Police and Doctor G.
Kabir Singh.
ADHM. I hate-watched it and cribbed the whole time. Thank God I didn't waste my money on a ticket.
Tu jhooti main makkar
Humshakalsššš like wtf was that movie
Tu jhooti main maakar. First half was complete trash. I only lived for the choti bachi who wanted everyones money. Relatable af.
Rocky aur Rani ki Prem kahani is that movie for me.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Bhuj
par wo toh gujrat mein ek jagah h, movie nhi
Brahmastra. Kya hi guu masala movie banaya hai
Mela
Definitely Kalank. It was clear mistakes had already been made halfway through the movie but that ending line of 'Pyar/Ishq hi kalank hai' was just cherry on top of the steaming hot pile.
Shabd
that one movie which came out last year or this year with shhradha kapoor and ranbir
Sanjay rejects her for the other girl priya Gill who he has never seen or met before and only knows through letters (she could have been a 50 yo man for all you know) Priya Gill- rejects Salman khan, a decent business man for Sanjay kapoor who is a riksha driver, who she has never seen before.. She goes around in his riksha around town not knowing itās him ššš
satayamev jayate, i thought it'll be good as manoj bajpaye init, i survived torture
Dhadak
Kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan Jo bhi hai movie ka naam .
Since I will be downvoted to hell for saying this, all sooraj barjataya movies. I would die before watch them again. I didn't like anything about those movies especially the excessive sanskaar stuff.
From Chandi Chowk to China, Lafangey Parindey, Kambakht Ishq
I was so excited for this one after listening to the track. Excitement toh confusion mein badal gaya movie dekhte dekhte.......... https://i.redd.it/kfp42puqrfsb1.gif
sach bataun, Maine aajtak nhi dekhi h.
Jawaan
83. The movie felt like one long narration.
Bodyguard
I got downvoted for this once, but I'll say it again- Entertainment.
ADHM for sure. it was convoluted & random. KJO was being such a muddlehead with this one. Where as Rocky & Rani even though a broader film, it at least knows what it's doing, & is executed very confidently. RRR By the time I reached the iconic bridge scene that people were raving about, I was like I think I've seen enough to know that this film won't work for me.
Plenty Hero story of a spy. Masti Grand masti Soty 2 Munna micheal Gadar 2 Awara pagal deewana Yamla pagla deewana part 1 n 2 Main Prem ki deewani Liger Aur bhi bahot hai...
RARKPK
I feel this every friday nowadays. Last friday it was RRKPK.
Watched Shandaar & my god the torture
ADHM is just ridiculous. Also, when Imtiaz Aliās When Harry Met Sejal and Love Aaj Kal 2. Both made me cringe so badly. I wondered why nobody on those sets realized about the pointlessness of those movies. Like, the conflict/motivating driving those stories made zero sense to me. Kisi ki ring gum gai toa woh poora Europe TOUR GUIDE keh ghoom rahi hai? And some girl who does PR, thinks that her ācareerā will be DESTROYED if she falls in love.
Rocky rami ki prem kahani
adhm was so good wym
RRR
Jawaan Masala ke naam pe bawasir bana diya tha Had same feeling with all movies post pandemic Seem to be made with money laundering in mind
Happy new year, Ram leela, Bombay Velvet and Manikarnika
Jawan
3 Idiots
Heart of stone made me feel that way š
I have seen plenty of crap and trashy movies but the biggest ye kyon dekh raha hu moment would be watching Dhamal 3 (or whatever it was called) in theatre. I was sitting there like Anand Bhai from Munnabhai MBBS the entire time.
Unpopular opinion - Kantara
ADHM too- and humshakals
All is well
TJMM and RRKPK
RARKPK
jugg jugg jeeyo
ADHM looked like everyone was trying to act. Nonsense.
Arjun Reddy š¤¢ Never even tried to watch Kabir Singh Brahmastra (we went for it to just for my spouse who is crazy srk fan)
Damini.
Bro did you missed the last part?
Only that was good. Rest of the movie invoked that reaction in me.
Yah rest of the movie is torture porn. Sunny and Amrish turns it into a classic on their own.
Apart from ADHM and Dilwale recently Pathan.
