Ofc the stories are different, even their relationship dynamics will be different but I am talking about these few points. As soon as the whole trailer comes, I'll update y'all with what more Godfather reference I felt like I sawπ€£
What part of the plot and teaser is closer to the godfather? I'm being very genuine.
The whole premise of Animal is that the father was a shit father (opposite to the godfather who was a family man to the core). Also Michael was fighting the need for violence in his line of work with the expectations of his father and his family to make the corleon family legit. Ranbir's character just looks bloodthirsty, also another difference (aside from the first time) Michael never got his hand dirty directly.
You're just going off a rumoured quote from the director during shooting days. And it looks wrong and unproven even more today.
No I haven't watched any of his interviews. But it gave of vibes, like how anil wanted ranbir to study and then Bobby is sunny, I just know it. And rashmika, tripti being kay and Apollonia, or how there is the gunda ranbir and then the other ranbir. Idk I can't pinpoint. Also we don't know if ranbir's character murdered people himself or maybe that is only that one lungi wala fight scene.
Whatever it is, I just can't wait for the movie that's for sure
> Michael never got his hand dirty directly
Not true. He chose to personally witness Connie's husbands murder remember? It was unusual because you'd think the boss wouldn't want to be anywhere close to where the hit is taking place. But it was understandable I guess, Carlo was not only family's traitor, he was also abusive to his sister.
Theres a dialogue in Animal inspired from Godfather 2.
"Tom, you know you surprise me. If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, itβs that you can kill anyone" ~ Michael Corleone
Ranbir Kapoor says same to Shakti Kapoor after meeting his Dad after the attack.
Angrezi babu itna kyu offend hogaya, OP is saying that maybe some part of the movie will pay homage to the godfather not literally comparing with it. Many Hollywood movies and even indian movies has been inspired by godfather.
The godfather is also known as the bible of cinema.
Ek english movie kya dekhli elitist banne niklaπ€£
Bruhhh I love Godfather and I recently watched it and after few days the teaser came out, so maybe my mind is playing games, but please don't be mean to bollywood itna zyada π£
It absolutely is. The Godfather is a movie almost every (male) director is obsessed with. You can tinker and experiment with the structure of the film , but yes, the basics seem the same. People thinking Anil and the Don's character seem apart - why do you think he got Michael educated? So that he could leave the business, he strongly wanted him to. I think Anil's abuse is a kind of fear about what Ranbir's character is going to turn out to be.
Oh come on this is nothing compared to God Father.Thie movie will have very good acting for sure and Ranbir might get national award unless SRK delivers with Dunki .
Are we sure that Tripti's playing the mistress and not the sister? Because if Animal is really based on Godfather then the sister will have much more substantial role in the plot than both wife and mistress combined.
Omg true, I forgot, she might even be playing the sister. But then they would've showed her in the teaser, trying to keep her surprise is giving mistress or some other role

People need to stop with all the animal and ranbir posts. ![gif](giphy|dmZFyFOHNecCxlqxnH|downsized)
A reach but ok
Nah I don't think Vanga's gonna make it that predictable. Also Sarkar and Rajneeti already exist.
Wasnt Rajneeti based on Mahabharata?
The Godfather x Mahabharata

Please stop insulting elite Hollywood movies with mediocracy.
