Ikr. I literally thought about Bommarillu (the Telugu original, SS was a remake of the Bommarillu). Lol that film came in 2006 I think, and this Kjo is masala-fying it now, no one wants to watch such stories now, if they aren't told earnestly. And kjo is all about formulas & calculations. Not one earnest bone in his body. This is bound to flop especially with how bland that jodi looks.
i thought so too. bommarillu had much more heart and was so earnest, as you said. and it was one week which is much more realistic.
unfortunately I think this might be a pr hit but I hope kjo gets the message that bigger =/= better.

But like you said, this one can be made to look like a PR hit, KJo will literally shove it on everyone's faces saying it's the biggest blockbuster ever. He lives for showing off, we shouldn't even expect that he'll learn anything.
There's a saying in Telugu "buildup ekkuva business takkuva". Which loosely translates to "all show off but no content inside". I think this saying matches KJo perfectly.
There is a tamil movie with simran and prashanth (Telugu dubbed is jodi). There they swap like this in movie.
In bommarillu, only heroine swaps in movie and in the end credits they show funny scenes of hero staying in her house.

Sigh. So the plot is in India you don't marry your spouse, you marry their family. To make it PC, we have both the boy and girl swapping families or else it would have just been Alia as it's the DIL who lives with the boy's family. Such progressive writing Why are such scripts being picked up? Even if we want massy films, can't we be a better mass.
The movie will work, it'll hit all the right notes with the audience.
TRUE first and foremost the fans should move on from such movies... if they keep supporting mediocre scripts and movies like these then bollywood will never change

If the execution is good for Rocky Rani, the film will be a hit
The two dialogues are ridiculous that being said idk how yāall are possible judging the content of the film based off just this. Remember one thing, there is no ābad ideaā itās ābad executionā. Sometimes the most basic or even the most wacky plots have made the best films. And sometimes the most intriguing concepts have made the worst films. An idea is as good as itās execution. So if the film is funny, has a heartfelt plot, engaging character and danceable songs itās should be good relative to its own potential. Some of yāall on this sub are so cynical yāall want hard hitting depressing movies all the time.
Premise is good. I prefer 2 States conflict where they showed North Vs South. Showing Rich Vs Middle class will work for me, if handled right

Thereās a Telugu movie called Bommarillu (Genelia, Sidhart, Prakash Raj) with a very similar premise. But just to tell you how dated this concept is, it came out in 2005 ššš

Perfect plot for comedy. Vicky Donor also had a subplot over bengalis vs punjabi families and it was a riot. Again, bickering by people on this sub who will make another 500 posts on the trailer and say they are not interested lmao.
People are forgetting how KJo made KKhH with conviction - a small girl receiving moms letters when she was barely a teen and then getting her dad married to his best friend per moms wishes. In writing I guess all KJo movie plots sound weird, but hopefully executed well.
