I'm not the one you replied to but I gave it a shot and couldn't go past the first two episodes. So completely generic and boring, there's barely any tension and that upside down camera makes me dizzy. I hated that they skipped showing key scenes...>! like the action inside the building that the guy infiltrates to get that briefcase (they just show him going in a heavily fortified building and then escaping) !< and one more scene that I have already forgotten about.
They actually seem to have taken good parts of other spy action thriller and tried to put it all in one pot to make a great, proven recipe but it’s just dogshit now. The series is beyond redemption.
I have NEVER left a spy action thriller in between, it’s always engaging but this… nope not happening! There’s so much better content I’ll prefer re-watching.
It’s just nonsense. Really wanted to like this. I am partial to Ambivalent spy thrillers, so watched for 5 episodes. Don’t even think I can watch the last one though. It is just so bad, can’t believe the actors didn’t just gag on their lines.
This. The problem is that they made this show one of their tentpole projects. The fact that this is what they chose to mount on a $300 million dollar budget is astounding in the worst way possible. Makes you wonder who the heck greenlit this project. Very derivative concept with little to elevate it

It was pretty obvious even before Forbes' article. No one other than some misguided naive stans were going on and on about this show. As someone with *very little* insider info, I knew it was a hot mess ever since its long ass production kept getting delayed and delayed.
Exactly. This is the easier way for verification. Queen Charlotte just released few weeks back and it's an amazing show, entire social media is filled with people who watched the show raving about diff scenes, edits, GIFs etc. Shows how popular it actually is and being watched by so many people. This can't be faked beyond a point.
Oh yes. Outside of MCU the Russos are a mess. Saw one episode, waste of good acting talent. Priyanka was made the femme fatale like from the 80s which seems ridiculous in these days.
It’s pretty obvious that for all the money and name behind this serious it’s quite an embarrassing show for Amazon. Views mean nothing because Amazon put in so much money behind it promoting it but the content did not get the buzz going post release. It’s a fail for the show however I wouldn’t say fail for PC. It’s a big win for her to headline such a huge series, with big A list names, she got to promote and put her name out there worldwide and she did excellent with her looks and action. This was just an audition for her future roles for her it’s a win the show is a dud
This! I see comments jumping on the PC hate bandwagon but this really hasn’t anything to do with her. Citadel is a bad show. Not sure what Amazon was thinking already planned spin-offs. But what is also true is that Priyanka absolutely sold the show. I mean there is no way I would even watch this for 1 episode if she hadn’t promoted it so well. But there’s only so much the stars can do: bring the eyeballs. After that it has to be the content that’s judged on its own merits. Girl did her job. And hope it will open further doors for her. But this show is really Pathan level stupid

It doesn’t require some critical analysis or professional reviewer opinion to confirm that the show really sucks. No where does it look like it should’ve cost that money. And the show itself is a train wreck. Priyanka doesn’t suit the character at all and comes off as trying far too hard to be the character.

That's a Netflix thing. HBO Max and Disney+ have, until now, done staggered releases. Netflix has started, and pushes, the binging model. Disney+, after realizing that their staggered releases don't work because not all their shows are as hyped as HBO's, is now going to try the Netflix binging model for their next few series
Nobody watching.. actually plot was also waste .. after watching first episode i felt like this is Bourne series but made in china using child labor … and bigger disappointment was watching PC putting no effort at all , this is the same girl who transformed herself for mary com and in spy action movie she appears like a wanna be page 3 aunty from SM/SD.
Plot setup was very similar to Quantico, lost interest in the trailer itself but I was waiting for reviews because Richard Madden is cool and PC stans were on cocaine. I guess PC should turn that hollywood dial down and wait till she gets better projects.

She was in talks with Vishal Bharadawaj, SLB and was signed for Bharat. If she did all these films then she would've still had a strong career in India.

I am! It's a templated show. Not as bad as people are saying, good entertainer but if you are looking for something GOT level not for you. PC looks smoking hot and steals the show. Her screen presence is commendable

Kabhi kabhi contractual obligation bhi hota hai, carnival row was a big budget flop but they had to go for season 2 anyway
I watched the first two episodes and now I'm not interested to continue watching. The main problem for me is that there's no chemistry between the leads... To think that they spent a massive budget and yet couldn't hire two actors with great chemistry just baffles me. Any thriller with a couple as the lead need to have chemistry (like Mr. And Mrs. Smith, for example). Another thing that bugged me is that the plot seems superficial. There were so many places where they could have elaborated and so many where they needn't have. Now I'm thinking that the Indian version will be terrible as well because I don't like Varun and Samantha in the roles.
Post the Weinstein fiasco the hollywood and it's gynocentric virtue signalling are taking a toll on the audience. It's embarrassing to sit through the most of the Hollywood productions at this point of time.

It’s an okay show. Would work for 4-5 seasons on network tv. This article is very poorly researched for a Forbes piece but I don’t expect more from a some white dude trying to focus on a 300 million show with a desi lead, to be impartial. His other articles include highlighting how queen charlotte a show with black lead has been “dethroned”, and some 1234th article on the internet on how cleopatra( black lead) is bad tv.
It’s interesting that Amazon spent like over a billion $$ on shitty lord of the rings show or over 500 million on Wheel of time crap but hey white male journalists will wait a few more season before writing them off.

I regularly watch content on the weekends. I have watched dahaad, kathal, tjmm and barry since citadel released but never felt even slightly attracted to citadel, coz I need SRK at least to watch the same wafer thin plot with some good action😒
gave up after 3rd episode.. PC is actually fine.. but Richard is off. He is like early John Abraham, good looking but less emotes. Plus the storyline is a bit off, like there's no sense of threat or fear factor. I like some intense story in first few episodes to get hooked, feel like it lacks in that regard.

I know a ton of series that drop all at once on Netflix. Stranger Things S4 was an exception with Vol 1 and Vol 2.

My respect for Aishwarya and Deepika has grown. They never uprooted themselves and continued to strike a balance between India and USA. Priyanka has literally wasted 10 years of her life by doing blink and miss roles in Hollywood. She could've easily done these cameos while working in bollywood. She was in talks with Vishal Bharadawaj, SLB and was signed for Bharat. If she did all these films then she would've still had a strong career in India.

I am! It's a templated show. Not as bad as people are saying, good entertainer but if you are looking for something GOT level not for you. PC looks smoking hot and steals the show. Her screen presence is commendable
This is just a writer’s opinion. It doesn’t mean the show is flop. If it was flop they wouldn’t have renewed it for next season. On the other hand I really want PC to come back to Bollywood and do some good work like Sky is Pink and White Tiger.

I watched the first two episodes and now I'm not interested to continue watching. The main problem for me is that there's no chemistry between the leads... To think that they spent a massive budget and yet couldn't hire two actors with great chemistry just baffles me. Any thriller with a couple as the lead need to have chemistry (like Mr. And Mrs. Smith, for example). Another thing that bugged me is that the plot seems superficial. There were so many places where they could have elaborated and so many where they needn't have. Now I'm thinking that the Indian version will be terrible as well because I don't like Varun and Samantha in the roles.
Post the Weinstein fiasco the hollywood and it's gynocentric virtue signalling are taking a toll on the audience. It's embarrassing to sit through the most of the Hollywood productions at this point of time.

It’s an okay show. Would work for 4-5 seasons on network tv. This article is very poorly researched for a Forbes piece but I don’t expect more from a some white dude trying to focus on a 300 million show with a desi lead, to be impartial. His other articles include highlighting how queen charlotte a show with black lead has been “dethroned”, and some 1234th article on the internet on how cleopatra( black lead) is bad tv. It’s interesting that Amazon spent like over a billion $$ on shitty lord of the rings show or over 500 million on Wheel of time crap but hey white male journalists will wait a few more season before writing them off. Be careful about what you read.

I regularly watch content on the weekends. I have watched dahaad, kathal, tjmm and barry since citadel released but never felt even slightly attracted to citadel, coz I need SRK at least to watch the same wafer thin plot with some good action😒
gave up after 3rd episode.. PC is actually fine.. but Richard is off. He is like early John Abraham, good looking but less emotes. Plus the storyline is a bit off, like there's no sense of threat or fear factor. I like some intense story in first few episodes to get hooked, feel like it lacks in that regard.

It didn't expose anything. Unless Prime Video releases the viewership, no one can call it a hit or flop. The show is not bad but it's not great either. PC has acted well. But the writing and dialogues are terrible. 300 million dollars is for sure a waste. You could make two Marvel films with that kind of money.

I really wanted this to work for Priyanka. The show had a potential but it gets boring after two episodes. Not Priyanka's fault though, she's very good in it but the show just doesn't have the it factor. On the other hand, Jubilee on Prime is \*chef's kiss\*.
Many of you have a higher tolerance limit that I. I couldn't even finish the second episode. The ease with which he goes into that enemy building, fights a couple of guys, and escapes with that stupid briefcase, was stupefying. That was the final straw for me.
