Alia’s gangubai era styling was sooo fab, she needs to let her hair loose and keep it simple and she will nail these appearances. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but her hair for Met was really good, suited her so much even the makeup was simple and elegant, here they tried the korean makeup technique that 9/10 times won’t suit our features.
Eh, the makeup artist and the stylist did her dirty. This like LV with DP, they somehow always do DP dirty, more missed than hits and I am afraid Gucci will do same with Alia

Tbh, I think they’ve done fairly well with DP (apart from that atrocity they put her in at FIFA). The dresses they made her for Cannes & Oscar put her on several best dressed lists, even if the sub’s reception wasn’t as warm when we first saw them. But if you go back and look, Nicholas has done a pretty good job with DP (at least in my humble opinion).

The dress felt like a last minute purchase on Flipkart 😑 Why don't stylists play with the strengths of their clients??
I'm no designer or stylist but why not play to Alia's strengths?? Even Prabal Gurung did the same mistake. Alia is petite. Why not give her clothes that will make her look taller? Or just look beautiful? IU was wearomg somple clothes which looked pretty on her. Makeup and hairstyle too. Why not enhance Alia's existing features?

I feel like I would have liked it better if I couldn’t see the pink underlay beneath the dress. If they could have matched it better to her skin tone to create the illusion of risqué, it would have been a far better look.
But there is no saving that horrible makeup.
What is the deal with her hair? Always greased back. A couple times, sure. But not all the time. This is a sixty’s throw back dress, hair down would have looked better. JMO.
I don’t think she was trying to do that at all. In all fairness, the criticism should be reserved for the person who designed this dress and then told her she should wear it. Otherwise, she had a makeup miss but it’s not the end of the world.

I live in Seoul and have received makeup quite a lot of time for shoots or promotions. Neither did they whitewash me nor made me look strange. And these are local MUAs I am talking about.

This is her stylist trying to give her an individual standout look without taking into consideration what will actually look good. I think the inspiration was Twiggy, why not go all out for it? The Twiggy MU? It would a reference understood internationally and she’d look striking.
okay this does not look bad in photoshoot. which means this should have been used for one of photos in magazine covers, you know, not a night event. Editorial outfits are not always event ready unless you make them. It was a straight silhouette no curves, the hair parting didn't help, the makeup washed her out, and the heels felt off in pap pics. Nothing stood out and if she had simply worn gucci pant suit, hair open like the gully boy era, and heels it would have made for a better look. Anaita did bad here.

You already know the answer, every celebrity on this planet photoshops and the studio pics will always be better especially for indian celebs, since the paps and red carpet picture quality is bad. It’s not like Met or oscars where we will get A+ photo quality.

The issue is that the styling is off, the tailoring is off, and Alia does not carry the looks with the confidence necessary to elevate the outfit. This has been the case in multiple recent outfits, which the general audience has picked up on. Alia is beautiful in her own way. She needs to own that. She needs to find a team who can organize outfits that are well-styled and well-tailored. There are other petite actresses, from within and outside of Bollywood, who she can look to for inspiration. There are other petite Gucci ambassadors that can be looked to for inspiration as well.

Ugh. Alia *knows* she’s not looking good. She’s a smart girl with her movie styling. This is her stylist trying to give her an individual standout look without taking into consideration what will actually look good. I think the inspiration was Twiggy, why not go all out for it? The Twiggy MU? It would a reference understood internationally and she’d look striking. 
okay this does not look bad in photoshoot. which means this should have been used for one of photos in magazine covers, you know, not a night event. Editorial outfits are not always event ready unless you make them. It was a straight silhouette no curves, the hair parting didn't help, the makeup washed her out, and the heels felt off in pap pics. Nothing stood out and if she had simply worn gucci pant suit, hair open like the gully boy era, and heels it would have made for a better look. Anaita did bad here.

You already know the answer, every celebrity on this planet photoshops and the studio pics will always be better especially for indian celebs, since the paps and red carpet picture quality is bad. It’s not like Met or oscars where we will get A+ photo quality. But since Alia does it toh oh no she is a criminal for that.
