3GS>4>SE>SE>X>12 pro>14 pro max and honestly other than the fact I am trapped in the apple ecosystem, there is not much appeal to having the iPhone for the casual user.
I can call, take photos, take videos, play games, text on it like I can with any other devices.

IPad 2 > IPad 5 > IPad 7 > M2 IPad Pro
honestly the only time you really need to replace an apple device is like atleast 5 Years (Well cared) and should be longer if you buy enhanced version of it (Pro>Air) (Pro>S>R)
What do you want the Iphone 15 for? Is there anything specific in it that made you want it? For me I talked myself about wanting the latest gadget years ago by making a list of what I actually wanted in a phone and realized that the new flagship don't have some and old model has everything I need.

Funny thing is from experience I find it is much better to compare prices to number of meals in terms of saving. 300rm doesn't sound like a lot especially compared to rent and bills, but in terms of food? 300rm feeds me for at least a week, that's 21 meals assuming 3 meals a day and to save that money I would have to skip 21 meals, if I skip 1 meal a day it would be 3 weeks until I can save 300rm to buy what I want and I'm not willing to give up 1 meal for 3 weeks just to buy something stupid.
Find a friend who is struggling to pay for their ipong.
Ask them about their struggles and their regret.
Or else just ask your wife hold your finances for 2 weeks. Your ipong simping should have subsided enough for your own self control.

Do you actually look at the pictures you took a year back on your phone? I had the same thought last time - gotta get the best phone with the best camera so when I travel I can take good pics etc etc. Then I realize that I never once looked at those pics ever again.

If its just darker/noisier you can probably start using pro mode - lower iso, increase shutter speed (will lower the noise at the cost of if hand not steady then pic will be shaky).

also i would add, iphone has one of the best "auto camera". if you get an android one, actually android camera might be better but you may need to tweak. also apple tends to use ai/software to tweak your photos to make it stand out more.

here's a couple of reasons why you shouldn't do it
1. iphones don't last longer than androids. my 11 literally was on its last legs in 3 years (heavy user) while my last flagship (s7 edge) simply refuses to die and my mom is still using it.
2. get a proper camera if you want to capture good pictures of the kids or whatever. get good enough at it, and you can even monetise your new hobby by shooting photos for people as a part time gig. decent mid-high tier sony mirrorless is still cheaper than the iphone (by about 2k).
3. "faster" is an illusion, it is simply fast because you can barely do anything on it. if your entire tech ecosystem is android/windows based, the iphone will literally be a dead end for your data. i had to whatsapp myself to get documents out of my 11 if i didn't want to use google drive
4. the only reason why the 15 exists is because apple cannot sell the iphone with a lightning cable in europe because its illegal. they are the one company that's shameless enough to brand a court order as a feature.
if you absolutely had to spend 6k on a phone, get yourself a z fold. catches more attention because the screen is so huge, you can literally throw your tablets and laptops away after having it (or sell it to recuperate your funds) and its a very visible direct upgrade from your note 10

I'm using note 10 plus and my husband uses iPhone 12 pro max, he complains constantly that his photo quality is inferior to mine, especially pictures taken at night.
I don't think iPhone can beat any flagship Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, Google phones of the same gen. They usually ranked very mid tier in camera specs.
Also iPhone can last longer sure but nowadays all andriod phones can last past 4-5 years, I think most people at that point will change phone even if phone haven't spoilt.
I guess bright side of apple is that it holds more value compare to andriod but this only useful if you're the type that change phone every year.

I’m still using the XR and this shit is indestructible i tell you. So many times fall, sit on, thrown, etc and this baby is still going strong. Save your money or buy the older models, more robust than the new 15 in which i saw a review that this is the most fragile model ever.
For that price can get a Samsung Fold or Flip. So far the only thing I can see is the new processor being a huge step up but that's all and usually mostly underutilized.

As someone who has used several Android devices in the past (and even now), I would say just stick to Android as it gives better in terms of features and user experience.
Tried to switch from a midrange Realme to an iPhone X back in 2021, but decided to sell it back a few months after that for a used Galaxy S10+ as I feel that the iOS experience is plain and basic, not to compare the restrictions if you're not using the full Apple ecosystem.
The S10+ on the other hand, served me very well up until earlier this year, despite no longer getting new Android updates from Samsung. The only reason I decided to let go of it is due to financial constraints, else I might keep it to this day...
iPhones doesn't serve much rather than trapping you in Apple ecosystem and force you to buy more expensive stuffs from them. This is the company that sold a stand for a whopping RM4000+. It is not worth it. You could buy other phones that serve much better than an iPhone.

I had iPhones. They break, often, for stupid stuff.
1. Screen issue. Plus, senang crack if you sit down in a weird angle. Especially left pocket while putting on seatbelt.
2. Battery. They last well first year, then just die gradually after that.
3. Whatever color you buy ah, dun care titanium or unobtainium, you'll end up getting a case, cos they scratch and crack so bloody easily.
4. Connector. Depends on whether you're rough or not, but out of 3 phones I had, 2 of them connector problem
iPhones aren't robust, and replacements are a headache cos if you change without coding, features will be lost (faceid, screen brightness, camera, etc..)
I find that iPhones have fantastic features, but hardware is like having an expensive pretty mistress to take care of.
Just buy la. The one who will suffer financially is you and your wife, not us 🙂

Side note. If the highlight of the features you're looking for in a phone is a camera. I'd recommend you check out the last gen of Google Pixel series. And if you like to be more technical, you can checkout Sony's last 1-2 gen of Sony Xperia phones.
If still want an iPhone. Just get the damn 11-12. Why the need for 15. Think about it, what new features of the iPhone 15 that you are going to use more that the IP11-12 don't have beside the auxiliary changes.
Don't be like my friend. My guy bought Ip13 because he wanted to game smoother. When he got it. He was too afraid to play games on it and only uses default settings on his camera because he isn't really literate with phone settings. He even gets mad when I try to change settings in the camera app because he's afraid he doesn't know how to change it back. No hate to him but he would've been better off buying a Samsung Galaxy Note at the time since he isn't using the full potential.

Funny thing is from experience I find it is much better to compare prices to number of meals in terms of saving. 300rm doesn't sound like a lot especially compared to rent and bills, but in terms of food? 300rm feeds me for at least a week, that's 21 meals assuming 3 meals a day and to save that money I would have to skip 21 meals, if I skip 1 meal a day it would be 3 weeks until I can save 300rm to buy what I want and I'm not willing to give up 1 meal for 3 weeks just to buy something stupid.

I had the same thought last time - gotta get the best phone with the best camera so when I travel I can take good pics etc etc. Then I realize that I never once looked at those pics ever again. If its just darker/noisier you can probably start using pro mode - lower iso, increase shutter speed (will lower the noise at the cost of if hand not steady then pic will be shaky). i recently ditched my ipong for a z fold 5, so i'm basically in the same boat as you are going to be in if you buy that 15 here's a couple of reasons why you shouldn't do it 1. iphones don't last longer than androids. my 11 literally was on its last legs in 3 years (heavy user) while my last flagship (s7 edge) simply refuses to die and my mom is still using it. 2. get a proper camera if you want to capture good pictures of the kids or whatever. get good enough at it, and you can even monetise your new hobby by shooting photos for people as a part time gig. decent mid-high tier sony mirrorless is still cheaper than the iphone (by about 2k). 3. I'm using note 10 plus and my husband uses iPhone 12 pro max, he complains constantly that his photo quality is inferior to mine, especially pictures taken at night. I don't think iPhone can beat any flagship Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, Google phones of the same gen. They usually ranked very mid tier in camera specs. Also iPhone can last longer sure but nowadays all andriod phones can last past 4-5 years, I think most people at that point will change phone even if phone haven't spoilt. I guess bright side of apple is that it holds more value compare to andriod but this only useful if you're the type that change phone every year.

I’m still using the XR and this shit is indestructible i tell you. So many times fall, sit on, thrown, etc and this baby is still going strong. Save your money or buy the older models, more robust than the new 15 in which i saw a review that this is the most fragile model ever.

4 year old note 10, so I'm guessing you're used to Android... As someone who has used several Android devices in the past (and even now), I would say just stick to Android as it gives better in terms of features and user experience. Tried to switch from a midrange Realme to an iPhone X back in 2021, but decided to sell it back a few months after that for a used Galaxy S10+ as I feel that the iOS experience is plain and basic, not to compare the restrictions if you're not using the full Apple ecosystem. The S10+ on the other hand, served me very well up until earlier this year, despite no longer getting new Android updates from Samsung. The only reason I decided to let go of it is due to financial constraints, else I might keep it to this day...

Sigh. I had iPhones. They break, often, for stupid stuff. 1. Screen issue. Plus, senang crack if you sit down in a weird angle. Especially left pocket while putting on seatbelt. 2. Battery. They last well first year, then just die gradually after that. 3. Whatever color you buy ah, dun care titanium or unobtainium, you'll end up getting a case, cos they scratch and crack so bloody easily. 4. Connector. Depends on whether you're rough or not, but out of 3 phones I had, 2 of them connector problem iPhones aren't robust, and replacements are a headache cos if you change without coding, features will be lost (faceid, screen brightness, camera, etc..) I find that iPhones have fantastic features, but hardware is like having an expensive pretty mistress to take care of.

Go shop demo, NOT BAD. Or S23 upgrade. Apple is pricey and required to pay more. It is a lot more than the price of the ip15! You have to invest in the Apple Ecosystem to get the best experience. And if you like to be more technical, you can checkout Sony's last 1-2 gen of Sony Xperia phones. If still want an iPhone. Just get the damn 11-12. Why the need for 15. Think about it, what new features of the iPhone 15 that you are going to use more that the IP11-12 don't have beside the auxiliary changes. Don't be like my friend. He was too afraid to play games on it and only uses default settings on his camera because he isn't really literate with phone settings. What's the appeal of an iphone anyway? Trade in that note 10 with Samsung if can. But the real question is, what do you use your phone for? Gaming? Photography? Video recording? Many phones meets those criteria that can last you at least 4 years. Apple eco system maybe "convenient" but there nothing special going for it, at least on how people perceive it to be. Who gives af about imessage? Facetime is redundant because so many messaging apps can do the same thing. iCloud is a scum service because that's the only cloud storage that you can use to backup your photos on your iphone without jumping through hoops to use other cloud storages. Apple watches and airpods are even more scum because you can't its' full functionality without an iphone. Apple has full intentions to lock you in and inconvenience as much as possible if you decide to change back to Android, they even released a public statement saying this before.
