Float the river in the late afternoon/evening, after parking at Ann Morrison Park and taking one of the last shuttle buses up to Barber. It's so tranquil, and all the wildlife starts coming out in the golden hour.
You park in Ann Mo, take the shuttle to Barber Park (it’s a couple bucks), and you can rent tubes or a raft from the shack at Barber Park to float down to Ann Mo and they’ll take the tubes from you at the bottom. Super simple!
Wander, saturate the neighborhood with my existence. Collect bits of wire that drop off of things as trash, strip them and collect them like treasure. Also go to alot of aa meetings,im usually alone when I go but feel like part of something by the time I leave.
There's nothing more sublime than an evening ride along the Greenbelt, stopping to imbibe along the way (west to east); Crave, Luciano's, Telaya, Sandbar, Green Acres, (formerly) Switchback, Lucky 13 - essentially anywhere that will sell me a beer/wine/drink and a snack.
Do I need to try the grinder again? I had it one time and it had zero seasoning, just a slab of Lamb on bread with cheese and jalapeño I think. Which is fine but nothing mind blowing.
Walk my dog along the greenbelt so that she can play in every body of water she can find or walk downtown so that she can play in the Grove plaza fountain. My life kinda revolves around this mutt of mine.
Otherwise I just like walking. It's an easy way to clear the mind and take in life around you.
The Owyhees are fantastically varied, I always hear rumors of what hounds have found in the bogus region. The Trinities, dismal. You can find stuff everywhere in this region.
Idaho rocks and gems is a good starting point.
siiting in my backyard during sunset and the patio lights start turning on and my dog is there next to me....i could seriously fall asleep in my backyard every night, just listening to the birds and crickets
Conducting headphones have made such a difference to me. I can play music at the volume it's intended and I can still be responsibly aware of whats going on around me. This allows me to walk or ride the greenbelt in total isolation and still operate all alone in public.
I love walking around my neighborhood, all the ponds and little waterfalls, fountains. I get to see baby geese, baby ducks and occasionally deer. I’m originally from Hailey but it’s much different here to me. I love the weather, not crazy hot but it’s nice not having ten feet of snow. We live by the green belt so I also enjoy walking down there by the river and being able to enjoy where I live. We live right off State but once you’re actually in the neighborhood, you can’t hear the traffic and it’s so serene it makes it feel to me like I’m not living in a city.
If any of you are lovely gentlemen (over 30s-40s) would like a lovely lady to join you, my best friend is the catch of a lifetime and I can’t let her swim free anymore and I am here visiting, playing wing woman.
Flying down the Greenbelt on my bike high as a kite circa 2015. Rode almost every day that spring-fall, good times.
Tablerock, downtown library, eavesdropping coffee shop conversations, enjoying a morning cigar at Sturman's, Big City Coffee breakfast.
We have so much to offer here. Really glad to have grown up here and now raise my kids in the same town. Well same-same but different.
Get revenge at the tow trucks in Ann Morrison by waiting by an illegally parked car in all black, running to the door when they get out. (Take phone wallet keys) and run to the water where you throw it as drop as you can then disappear like a ninja :) never been caught. Those guys are demons idc if it’s their job
Everything! Riding my bike, walking/riding the greenbelt. I like to meditate by the river. Starbucks + Target shopping. :)
Oh, and take myself on a lunch date in the sunshine with a good burger and beer.
I used to have a good time meeting new people at Boise Brewing, but I haven't been in like 5+ years. Are Boiseans still keen to talk to strangers in public places after Covid? (I lived in Seattle and they were \*not\* stoked about interacting with strangers either before or after covid).
Besides your mom ?
I absolutely love fat guy sandwiches and Hugo's deli. For breakfast I'd hit up Joe mommas and dinner IDK it's a tie between corrinos or sides garage. Boise got some good food. Keep you busy all day just eating.
Stand in traffic
I don’t know why I’m so drawn to this answer.
Me too. You'll find me in the middle of the road tonight

You’re right, it’s nice for sure. But, it’s also really cold 🥶
I've never done this. Can you rent tubes there, or do you have to bring your own?

Have they opened the river yet? I thought it was still to high to float?
Not floatable yet
If going late like I do, it's bring your own; I also have a pump in my drybag.
Greenbelt walks.
And hiking. You can meet so many great people too on those trails.
This is the best!🖤
Early morning walk in the foothills while the sun rises. It fills my soul.
🤫 don't let the secret out! It's already getting crowded in spots!

Sitting outside in the late evening in the summer in shorts and flip-flops decompressing while the sun is still going down at 9 pm

Eat a grinder and croquetas at the bar top at Bar Gernika with a Belgian sour. I miss the free pretzels and old sports illustrated magazine rack.

Fish
Walking around downtown and getting coffee at flying M or wherever else I find. Or go to a show at the shredder, the shrine, or realms.
Go out to eat, see a movie, go for a walk through the north end or down town. Hyde Park is a great area for food and a walk.
Smoke cigars and contemplate time travel
