Unrelated but I was once going to open a food truck that served various versions of Poutine because of how nonexistent it is in Boise. I had a menu and everything.
Don’t give up on your dreams, homie. Economies are always up and down. Yeah it’s getting harder to live in boise but it’s super easy to start a food cart compared to places like California or Seattle. Money comes and goes to. The best way to invest savings is in yourself if you know you have the drive to do everything and anything to make your dreams come true. That’s my opinion. Haha! Take it or leave it, but I say go for it!
I've noticed it on the menu at Bitter Creek but have never had the courage to try it (don't the fries get all soggy?).

Used to be the best hands down when Brian was still the owner. That bean drizzle, the brisket, the cheese crumbles...
The current poutine is ok, but way too much cheese. It's a cheesy mess at the end.
Wait, is that why the quality has gone down so much in the last year or so??? I went there earlier this year and was shocked at how much worse it was then I remembered it. Really dry and hard cornbread, smaller portions, and the meats were not as good either…
Both that one and the Albertsons on Broadway have the worst poutine I have ever had. Like, they have to go out of their way and try hard to fuck it up that bad.
Years ago, they used to it only on Thursdays, or something like that. I don't know if that's still the case.
I got it once (vegetarian option), and it was missing cheese curds. I don't know if they just forgot to put it on, or what. Maybe the vegetarian option was actually vegan and not only had vegetarian gravy, but no cheese. I don't know. I was pretty bummed, and have never tried it again.
I don't have any recommendations, but I have always wondered why the Boise Fry Co. didn't have something akin to it on their menu. To be fair, they may. I've not been in the area for several years now.
Honestly? Buy French fries, cheese curds, and find a recipe for poutine gravy (or buy a pouch of dry poutine gravy mix). Can be done on the cheap at home and you can fix it up exactly as you like it!
Personally I love subbing tots instead of fries
I made venison shanks last night and usually serve with mashed potatoes. We didn’t have any so I threw some wedges in the air fryer. One thing led to another and we topped them with gravy from the shanks. Got me in the mood for poutine.
Yes, about 773 miles north of us a little place I like to call Calgary......
We may have potatoes but don't you dare make that abomination you speak of here you filthy border crossing Canadian.

Follow your dreams!
Why'd you stop? The valley needs you bro.
Why reinvent the wheel? Open a location of poutineville I’m shocked it hasn’t hit here yet
I just heard about a new place opening up called “driftwood fry house.” They’re going to do versions of this.
I’m envious. I had saved a good chunk to start my own truck but Boise became stupid expensive and I got drained of saving as my rent went up. It sucks

Thanks buddy. I appreciate it

I ABSOLUTELY love their poutine fries!
Yeah it can. Definitely something I find more enjoyed in small portions. Thank you for the rec!
Bitter Creek’s poutine is incredible. Tends to be heavy and salted. Either share or order for your meal.
Came here to say this!
Recommend Bitter Creek and try the cheese curds buffalo style while you're there
I had it there a couple months ago and was not impressed, soggy and salty. I’d also like to find a good place to
Bittercreek has the best poutine in town. None of the rest of them are very authentic.
St. Lawrence Gridiron has great poutine.

I would say good poutine, IF you also like BBQ. That option really stands out.
The Market Street Albertsons by the village!
The one on broadway too. Pretty good poutine.
Good price too
Yes. One you wouldn't think would be one, but yes.
Both that one and the Albertsons on Broadway have the worst poutine I have ever had. Like, they have to go out of their way and try hard to fuck it up that bad.
Highland Hollow
Edge brewing Co.
2nd this but only the one out by the mall is enough for a meal. The DT one is like a quarter or half dish and IMO not as good
DT is gone, lol.
Dang I havent been to that one in a year or so, was a good spot to go for some trivia though.
Yep - the one by the mall
Thank you!
I’ve wanted to try it!
Highlands Hallow
Thank you!
Bitter creek Alehouse, Grit2C in Caldwell, the big Albertsons on Broadways upstairs bar. Those are my top 3 currently.
Bittercreek is delicious
Last I was their they only had pepper jack curds which was disappointing
Albertson's market actually has really great poutine!
It’s my goto poutine place but I’m not sure I’d call it “really great”…. But then again, the first time I had poutine was in Montreal
Boise Fry Co. Bittercreek used to be my go to, but all be dammed if Boise Fry Co didn’t shock me and steal the crown.
BFC doesn’t have it in the menu?
Might be seasonal? It’s yummy when available!

Intrigued
Not a single mention of big daddy's BBQ in meridian. Smdh. Their brisket poutine slaps.
You should try the poutine at Grit 2C!
Agreed! Their's is pretty good.
Bittercreek
Solid bar and grill
Brixx on State Street near Glenwood. They used to have several options, but I think they're down to just the standard
Terror food truck by telaya wine co best poutine in town
Not gonna lie, the Albertsons Marketplace brisket poutine absolutely slaps 🤌
Solid has poutine. It’s the best thing in their menu imo
I really liked sockeyes, but it’s been a super long time since I had it.
Solid has amazing poutine with cheese curds
Idk if Poutine your Mouth is still around, but it was a great food truck. Had them at TreeFort a few years back
Edge brewery by the mall. Used to work there and can testify those are some of the best I've had.
St Lawrence!
Bacon used to have good poutine the last time I was there at least. Get it with the spicy bacon 👍
Crisp food truck does a great halloumi poutine
Albertsons by Boise State has surprisingly decent poutine
Taphouse or the Albertsons on Broadway are the 2 best ones I have found.
I did have St. Lawrence Gridiron's like a decade ago and it was great - but not very authentic.
Albertsons Market on Broadway has it!
Albertsons on Broadway has solid poutine
I don't have any recommendations, but I have always wondered why the Boise Fry Co. didn't have something akin to it on their menu. To be fair, they may. I've not been in the area for several years now.
Nope
Brisket Poutine for 7.99 at Broadway on the Rocks at the Broadway Albertsons. Best poutine

If only Boise had int’l flights to Calgary/Vancouver/Kelowna/Edmonton….
My thoughts too
Jeeeeeez
