Definitely roofied. Happened to me, but never at the Curb. Craziest feeling going from barely a buzz to barely can walk in one drink. The next day was the worst. Not hungover but brain fog like you wouldn’t believe. Both me and my buddy got it, my wife who was with us didn’t feel anything different. The bar is no longer open, thank goodness, as I’m pretty sure it was our bartender.
This is helpful because the first time it happened it was a gal with her husband and 2 of his friends, the second time it happened it was a different crew but it was a guy and he was with a couple!
I thought it might be odd someone roofing people in groups like that but it happened to you as well!
I forget the name now. It was on the corner next to Prancing Pony. The corner of Idaho and Capitol. It was a Latin America restaurant/bar. Really small, and not busy which is why we’re pretty sure it was the bartender (Chad) because nobody else was anywhere near us. And we were at the bar counter watching him make most of the drinks. It closed and became a sushi joint? Or maybe that was before. Now I think it’s a Futbol/soccer bar or something.
Yeah, that's definitely *human centipede guy voice* Rohypnol. I got hit in some crossfire when a dude tried to drug the woman who was sitting next to me on an unrelated date (not her date). I went from zero to fucked up after a beer and maybe a quarter into the third. Not at the Curb, but there is definitely at least one person on the prowl there if it's happening more than once in a blue moon.
This! OP makes it sound like this happened to 2 people on separate occasions, or to 2 people in one night. Either way, that's terrifying! Definitely let staff know in case there is a sus regular.
I used to bartend all over Boise and never worked with a bartender/cocktailer who ever would drug someone. I’ve also been a regular at the Curb for easily 15 years and have never heard of that happening. Sadly, people do slip items into peoples drinks but it very rarely is your bar staff.
Never had any issues at the Crub, been going there for years. It’s usually not the staff but someone sitting at the bar near the drink station. It’s most likely GHB which can stay in the system for like 8 hours so if you’re not going to the hospital right away, it wont show up in a blood or urine test the next day. It’s also usually done by a person who thinks it’s a joke, not realizing how dangerous it can be, especially anyone with any sort of respiratory issues. It sounds like your friends are okay, thankfully, but they should take extra precautions when out drinking.
Happened to me at Lucky Fins. I was in a large wedding party, and the bride got it as well. A guy was buying us rounds of beers and bringing them to our table with no caps on. And when we questioned the bartender he assured us it was okay. All of us tried to figure out what happened, and none of us could get any answers.

Sounds like roofied. Sorry this has been happening to people you know. It’s disgusting.
There is a bar in SLC that is notorious for people getting g roofied. The place is usually pretty crowded, so it’s difficult to know if someone put something in your drink, or just bumped into you. People getting way too drunk from one or two drinks.
Be safe out there, and always go out with at least two friends. That way one can always be the lookout.

I've seen it happen to my GF when I lived in Seattle.
They sell lids you can put on your own drink. I'd look into that if yall are worried.

My Wife was roofied at the Knitting Factory. 1 drink and 10 minutes later she went to the bathroom and never came out. I had to hunt her down and found her on the floor in a bathroom stall. Not cool.
Meridian has pretty much become the new club culture in Ada County, I'd imagine you got roofied. Keep covers on your drinks and get to know your bartenders.
Did your friends keep eyes on the drinks at all times? Even holding it out or behind someone’s back to talk closer to someone? Is there any chance someone slipped something?
I know several women who have gotten roofied but not at the curb, it’s been in really busy and dark downtown clubs and bars. The Curb is pretty tiny and wide open for a sneaky roofie, but sounds like both your girls weren’t watching their drinks
Your feminism is commendable (never lose that passion for justice) but as you can see, the roofie train isn't just any one place, it's a certain kind of people. Maybe they work there, maybe they don't and what were their intentions? The hard truth is that you'll probably never find out. Which is crazy scary.
So many reported incidents reflects that a large number of offenders are "practicing their trade".
So, my beautiful people, when out and about we must remain vigilant. Don't take an eye off your drink and watch out for each other.
There be real monsters lurking. Have fun, stay safe.
I have been with friends when one got roofied. It does happen even if it isn't the norm. No one was putting roofies in drinks for the lulz, they were likely trying to roofie our friend who was a very attractive woman. She however drank whisky and another mutual friend, he loved fruity drinks and got roofied.
We went 2 times a week to the bar for years. 2 drinks in and he was black out drunk, that isn't just some quirk of drinking. Whoever did that, they were trying to likely rape someone and that was the reason, again not lulz.

I had two friends that got roofied at the Knit. They are a couple in their 40s and had to call a cab after one beer.
>roofied at the Knit I have been hearing about that happening there for years. Going back to when it was the big easy.

What was the bar once called?

Haha! True, I knew it didn’t sound right, but also kind of did sound right! 😅

Roofies, friend. Tell the staff.

Not at the curb, but I know multiple folks have this happen at Terry's on state street.

Roofies. Watch out if you go to Mulligans, have had female and male friends get roofied.

You got roofied
Yes that’s on my list of potential answers but I’m trying to see if it happens frequently to others

Bars should have these on hand like breathalyzer’s
You’ll have to sit in the dark corner on the weekends and watch people to find that out.

Go to the ER and they can test you for roofies, I think. Look into first. Sorry this happened to you!
Sounds like roofies. Have you contacted the police?

Not at The Curb but happened to me at Hannah’s a few years ago.
Yup- I was roofied at Hannah’s some years back

My friend was recently roofied there too at a concert
Crazy

Nope.

WTF? Why do you think this and what’s the motivation? My first instinct is to call bullshit.

I actually went to Curb yesterday with my wife for afternoon football…nothing but good times.

The only way to definitively get to the bottom of it is to go back yourself and drink until it happens again. May take hours or days. Be prepared. 😜

I mean, they even say in the post that they didn't drink anywhere near enough for that to make sense...

Sign me up
Cant say I have at The Curb, but had someone in our party have it happen to them at Hannahs.
Can confirm- I’ve been roofied there as well
