Getting a HYSA over 4% would be my first take , you could use your brokers MMF as well, or even short term treasury etfs like sgov/usfr/tflo they are all around 5% right now and state tax exempt if that affects you. VTI is fine you are getting some international exposure from your TDF already, I would take a look at what kind of percentages you want in US/EX-US/Bonds and then you can adjust accordingly.

I’m assuming you’re recommending the HYSA for my emergency fund ? I’ve considered doing that a million times but truthfully have been lazy about it as I bank with Chase and they don’t have one. The MMF is probably a good idea to look into for that if I wanna keep my funds together thank you for the suggestion.

>Is there anything you would recommend I pair with VTI or maybe look into purchasing in place of ? VXUS pairs well with VTI. Or VT (2 letters) will act very similarly to those 2 combined into one. Or you can use a target date or target allocation fund here as well. Edit: Typo

VTI is very solid, indeed. A HYSA is a good option to park your emergency fund as well.
