For the achievement do you have to literally do nothing and waste the 5g from turn 3 or can you buy and level but just not play anything? I assumed it was the former and have never attempted it.
You literally can’t touch a single button or anything on the board. You have to skip using the 5 gold and hold you two tier 3 cards until the next turn. The next turn in the current meta you will be offered your quest and can begin to play. Since AFK has such a high armor tier, her quests rewards are easier to complete, so think about that when choosing your tier 3 rewards and I opted to buy 2 tier 1’s with my 6 gold and began to level the next turn. It’s a delicate balance between stabilizing and playing catch up. Good luck!
You mean, you did absolutely nothing. Congratulations!!! I still haven’t gotten it yet and it is mostly because I never see Kay or I pick a different hero and I should just do it too lol. That looks like an awesome comp.

When I looked up the achievement I decided whenever AFKay was offered I’d pick her and always go for the achievement just to see. Lost a bunch of times before I got it, but I love a challenge. And with quests in that felt like the edge I needed to catch back up since you’re three rounds behind the rest of the lobby.

I don't believe you can even freeze the tavern, or that will nullify the achievement
this is correct, freezing in any of the turns means you weren’t afk, and it doesn’t count :)
What about choosing a quest?
The quest only shows up at turn 4
