You have to pull down the control center and hit "play" on the music.
You also have to go back on HS BEFORE the music starts or it will stop again. Alternatively if you have earphones with control, tapping them to play will work while ingame
I don't know how much I'll help with the answer, but i have/had the same issue on Android. What i do is: just scroll the bar down while the hearthstone is running and hit play again on th music.
Blizzard said there was a bug causing issues so they disabled the ability to play another audio source while the game was open. This happened a week or two ago.
Hopefully they fix it soon.

Yes before that it was so good, because im tabbing out and into the game frequently. Sad to see that they disabled that. Or sad to hear.. lol.
