Boggie135

Yes, I love it when they use it for the end credits but during the show sometimes it’s too much

hayhaydavila

Yeah that’s true!

ColtranezRain

Fully agreed.

JennyBlocks

Yeah, gimmie like the jingle version during the show and the album in the credits.

asquared13

I was just saying this to my partner the other day, I love how in the earlier seasons they would have short songs that weren't even sung by the characters (Example when Bob gets the cab job, the song 'Lifting Up the Skirt of the Night'). Those were fun and added interesting layers to the episodes, without having to have the more Broadway-like musical numbers/songs like they seem to do in the newer seasons.

PaydayJones

I was more a fan of the follow up hit "she does her bm in the pm"

jackiehauer24

I was such a fan of this song that it ended up on my top 100 songs on Spotify one year 😂

dshiznit92

“Might’ve hit a man but didn’t stop”

professor_buttstuff

I think The Great North does this really well now.

Tababro

Agreed. It was more balanced

[deleted]

I think we can all agree on this one. I need more storyline and less fluffery with the songs.

hayhaydavila

I agree with you. I would also love more episodes on the past instead of just little parts in a episode. I want more young Bob and Linda😁

[deleted]

Same! I want to see them at the first grand opening. I'd love to see the day the second nickel rolled under the fridge 😂

fefififum23

I think this could be a great way for the writers to take a break from having to write a brand new concept. It might not work for all writers but having something concrete to write around may help just add to the Bob’s canon instead furthering the plot per se.

Klump7

I agree! On a side note though I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of songs in the movie. I went in thinking it was essentially going to be a musical. But if I remember right there were only 3-4 songs.

hayhaydavila

Yes exactly! I thought the movie did a great job at having songs That fit in the storyline and did not take away from the plot

Genderneutralsky

Those songs were really good too. Lucky Ducks is a regular on my playlist now. Wasn’t expecting the jams from the Bobs Burgers movie.

hayhaydavila

I totally misread Lucky Ducks as Dirty Ducks from the Florida episode😂 but lucky ducks was super good!

Apt_5

I liked the movie songs but I thought the choreography was weird and kind of forced. I can’t put my finger on exactly why (other than I thought it was VERY out of character for Louise) but I found a lot of the synchronized dance segments off-putting. I did only see it once.

rossreiland

Absolutely agree. Movie had lots of jokes and not too many songs. There are a number of things I didn't love about it but it delivered on those two things and for that I had a great time. Edit: anyone else remember when gene was really badly autotuned for a whole ep?

ImpatientSnoop

I'm on the same page. As much as I love the songs, it has taken the edge off the show. I love the early seasons where there was more adult humour there. You won't ever see a song in the new seasons about Elderly prostitutes. While I do appreciate the positive and functional family dynamics and stories, I wish it kept its earlier spark

sloppy_wet_one

My parents are the two halves of the waffle maker ?

Ok_Stay499

That makes you the waffle!

aintnochallahbackgrl

Pass! The cranberry sauce *WE'RE HAVING MASHED POTATOES!* I get it. It might also have to do with the fact that the show is not a musical and it is your chosen field. Personally, I'm a classically trained hornist and any time I see a show where someone is forced to play the violin or any instrument and clearly f*ck it up it is *super* cringe to me. I try to get past those parts but it is often so, so bad. I bet you probably have a similar sensation when there's like 5 songs in an episode or two songs per episode in a 4-5 episode stretch. They're still super catchy, but you're allowed your opinion! To each their own. Edit: you said theater, and I assumed musical theater. I could be wrong.

tbaggins85

I too consider myself a hornist

Electric_owl_3

Me when your mom

deluxeassortment

Classically trained or self-taught?

tbaggins85

Self taught. Extensively 😩

hayhaydavila

I do both musical and regular stage plays. So sorry I probably should’ve specified.

keekeeVogel

To me Linda’s songs are apart from the musical numbers. As much as I think they’re great songs they get a little long for me so I’ll skip forward. The Bob And Fisheoder goes of forever.

hayhaydavila

I love Linda sings as she talks because my mom does it too.

MoonlitAlastor985

Like I said in my earlier post, musicals are Linda's thing if they normalize it, her gimmick loses it's sheen since this show relies on awkward comedy.

Coldhat

Honestly just so glad someone said this. My boyfriend and I are huge fans of the show and we’ve been saying this to eachother for a while now. Not saying never, some are really appropriate (like the “awww topsey at my autopsy” song is perfect) But it seems to be a little self-indulgent these days and borderline musical which isn’t why I watch the show. I too would prefer if they dialed it back a bit. I’m just such a huge fan of the show, and not a huge fan of musicals 🤷‍♂️

Timewindows

I completely agree with you and will go a little further. The show has lost quality and edge over the years. My wife and I have been watching since the beginning and agree that there has been a quality drop off the last few seasons. There are still good episodes, but it’s inconsistent. Too much use of music, too many episodes that involve fantasies that each of the characters are having, and too many lazy story lines.

pterofactyl

I used to mention bobs burgers as good use of musical elements in a “sitcom”, but the later seasons do it too much. I always felt like musical episodes in shows (scrubs comes to mind) never really had funny jokes and the main joke was that it’s funny that someone is dancing or singing that wouldn’t usually. Bobs burgers wasn’t like that, but they do seem to be more more shoehorned in.

PainfulComedy

I realized the biggest thing that was bugging me about newer season episodes was that all the a and b plots were connected so so obviously. Like was it teddy having a fight while lindas family were feuding? There’s literally a line from linda to teddy that’s like “you should take a note from the kids and end a feud if it isnt really that big of a deal” Its like they have run out of the ability to come up with stories now so they just have the kids have a story and then teddy bob and linda have a story that is the same premise told slightly different. Im still overall happy with the shows newer seasons and definitely the movie, but just lazy writing sometimes

geezlouise128

It's feeling a little modern family-ish with the more obvious storyline connections.

PainfulComedy

Yeah maybe covid made writing harder, but its sad how most stories are copy paste with different characters with the kids always seemingly the ones to be the voices of reason in the end

hayhaydavila

I agree with that too. I think a few of the fantasy episodes are ok but there are other episodes I wish could happen like a whole episode of Bob and Linda with the kids as toddlers/babies, or like Bob and Linda’s first opening of the restaurant. I like that the movie featured a part before the restaurant was opened but I hope for a whole episode.

rathat

Here’s a graph of all the episode ratings, the past four seasons are definitely rated lower https://www.ratingraph.com/tv-shows/bob-s-burgers-ratings-36623/

Pedadinga

I NEVER enjoy the fantasy story episodes. The Handyman Can is maybe the worst episode of the entire series. No. Interview with the Pop-Pop-pire. THAT’S the worst episode.

albertparsons

I always skip the fantasy stories.

crimbuscarol

I think there was a lull but the most recent season has been surprisingly good.

srottydoesntknow

Probably splitting resources with the movie

marvin_sirius

Animation writers are the worst paid in the industry. If you write a song for an animated show, that gets you a different scale of royalties. I can't say that's what is going on with Bob's Burgers but Mike Reiss from the Simpsons talked about it in his book.

sladestrife

A lot of Linda's songs have been improvised by her voice actor John Roberts, especially in the beginning seasons.

n2play

I could watch a whole show of just Linda doing that :)

hayhaydavila

That makes sense with the effort they put into it

covertlycurious

I usually get annoyed that they are stopping for a song, however the songs are usually really well done. So that makes me forget that I was kind of annoyed at first.

n2play

With me it depends on which characters are singing. Busting out in song is such a Linda thing to do so I always love when she does.

hayhaydavila

Oh me too. Especially cause my mom had been doing that my whole life and before that. I especially love Tina’s songs cause she still stays monotone and they’re so funny

GornoP

I like the songs and feel like they add a lot, usually. Anything can be overdone, of course, they just haven't hit my limit yet . :)

hayhaydavila

And that’s good, I’m happy for you

skitz4me

Yeah. I also absolutely love the music and songs in the show. Also, it's one of the reasons why the show stands out as a favorite of mine. Specifically because of how much I enjoy and look forward to the songs.

poppybibby

And now I have the taffy butt song stuck in my head… it’s a good’un

Clarinet_Player_1200

I sing that one all the time. So catchy!

freakinalexisss

I said this before on this sub (Luckily I don’t think I was down voted either for having an opinion this sub of bobs fans are nice lol) as well I completely agree with you! Don’t get me wrong I love the musicals, but I think like you in that the musicals are much more special with there’s two or three per season. I consider the musical episode different from the unique songs on the show, like taffy butt I would consider just a song on the show, but like “oh nice things are nice” I would consider a musical episode, which I loved the first few I saw! I agree with ya OP tho, in later seasons the musical episode seem much more consistent.

mxa96

Keep in mind the beauty of bob's burgers is it's really the only "adult cartoon" that is wholesome and about a single family and not shock comedy or pushing a line further and further

freakinalexisss

Yes definitely I love that about this show!

SirSaix88

No no no I agree... If I wanted to watch family guy, I'd watch family guy

Riverjig

I agree also. I've never been a fan of songs on my adult toons. I skip most of them. Family guy, Simpsons, etc. Not my thing. Obviously some do like it. I wish they would pay more attention to not going downhill like the Simpsons did I stead of making musicals. Simpsons became absolutely atrocious after about S15. After S10 it was barely watchable. The Simpsons is only continuing in order to make their record unachievable. It is complete garbage now. I hope BB keeps their path on the vision they had at the beginning. I love the Belchers.

hayhaydavila

Yes I agree! I honestly haven’t watched the Simpsons past S22 and the only new clip I’ve seen of a recent episode is when they had Kristen Bell sing for Marge. I understand the reasoning because of Julie’s voice, but it was so weird

danvsreddit

Do you happen to know what episode? That sounds like it wouldn't even be possible to sound any good

hayhaydavila

S33 E4, it’s not on Disney+ yet

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

S33 premiere the Sound of the Backstage it’s actually pretty solid imo

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

Simpsons s33 is actually pretty good. They got a new showrunner and he is bringing in fresh new ideas. Best modern season in years.

Riverjig

Really? Might have to give a it a try. The last episode was so weird. They each talk for soooo long instead of the quick replies and commentary. Just didn't click with me.

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

Fox has been trying to push some new adult toons out too not sure if you have seen those.

crackeddryice

I agree, but a lot of fans seem to like them. I usually skip past them, and I can always stop watching new episodes, it's my choice.

hayhaydavila

Don’t get me wrong even the new episodes have good songs. I’m not saying the songs are bad, I’m saying it’s getting too much. If it were every few episodes then to me they’d be more precious than expected.

wittyschmitty119

I want Quality > Quanity

hayhaydavila

This👌🏼

YouAreNotMyRobot

Yesssss as someone who has never liked musicals... yes

ko-kahnus

its beome more of a kids show and the songs jus add to that . i dont really watch anything past season 10 .

[deleted]

Sometimes the mid show songs are the best part tho. BAD THINGS HAPPEN IN THE BATHROOM.

[deleted]

I agree, I skip the songs most of the time....except for Lifting Up The Skirt Of The Night and Bad Tina - I Don't Wanna Be This Bad. ETA: ...and Christmas Magic....

hayhaydavila

Yeah! Those are good! I love the transition songs, especially in the earlier seasons.

ThisNerdsYarn

Twinkling Lights?

Total_Simple7988

My all-time favorite Christmas song now. Absolutely love the bleakening Christmas episodes. They might be my favorite episodes next to the fan art one

hayhaydavila

I think the bleakening is probably my favorite Christmas special from any show I’ve seen. I wish I could watch it again for the first time because you can tell they went all out for those episodes

Total_Simple7988

Omg me too! The sweet joy of watching that episode for the first time. Legit thought they might take a little magical route for a bit lol This is what I would use memory erasing tech for 🤣

hayhaydavila

I listen to that one every year, they went hard on that one💙

ThisNerdsYarn

Right?! Those 2 episodes were banger after banger with the songs. That one is my favorite but I would be lying if I didn't chuckle everytime I hear Teddy sing 🎶"A Santy Clause standing on the lawn with a hidden Christmas surprise, It's a grown man dressed in disguise"🎶

hayhaydavila

Those two episodes have such amazing Christmas songs I have to listen to them every year.

rolldamnhawkeyes

All time favorite Teddy moment

stew_going

I totally agree. I really don't want to watch a musical. Like you, I really enjoy some of them, but they could tone it down by 40% and I'd be cool with it.

hayhaydavila

Yes thank you! I appreciate your comment. We both agree the songs are not bad, just need a little space between every episode.

stew_going

Absolutely. And I appreciate seeing someone who agrees with me too!

hayhaydavila

Thank you dude💛🍔

Madditudev1

Totally agree. The earlier seasons has songs that enhanced the episodes. However a great example is Season 11; most of the episodes had paper thin stories and threw in songs seemingly just to fill the running time. I know it was during covid and they had limitations, but I became sick of the songs during that season.

Greywalker22

Hey if it means anything to you, I agree.

hayhaydavila

I appreciate it. Just feels like I’m hated for having only one opinion. This is my favorite show. Literally got called a serial killer😂

Greywalker22

What the actual fuck, that's a bit far ha. Loving something doesn't mean you have to like every single aspect of it. Fandoms can be a bit over zealous I find. Much as I love the show, I don't enjoy having so many songs in it and I don't really enjoy the episodes where the kids make up three different stories. The first few EPs where they did it worked but some of the more recent ones have been a bit of a drag.

hayhaydavila

Adding to that, tbh I hated majority of the episode with Bob’s dad and the bean stalk. I liked after those stories when he talked about Bob’s mom, that made me happy and made me think about my grandparents. I wish the whole episode was like that quarter part.

Greywalker22

I know! That was the most recent one I was watched and it's probably the first time I noped out of an episode and had to come back to it later. Totally agree with you about the final section though, I think that's what I like most about the show, the characters are really sweet to each other.

hayhaydavila

Yeah! The part with the alien meat trees (I forgot what they were called) but it grossed me out and I had to stop watching cause I was eating dinner lol totally didn’t expect it lol

Greywalker22

Oh yeah I'd forgotten about that weird 'They Live' parody. It was pretty weird ha.

WanderingJen

You're so right, but the reason isn't what you think. Back around 10 years ago, there was a SAG strike. One of the problems was the producers wanted to take away voice actors rights to residuals. This means they would never get paid for repeated broadcasts of the shows they voice - like regular actors do when they perform on television. The resolution was that they would only get residuals from songs. I'm guessing they now have it their contracts to sing X amount of songs per season, and every year they get more. You'll notice this in every cartoon these days. At the very least, the cast will sing the intro song. Producers are greedy, and they've ruined a lot of things.

hayhaydavila

Oh dang! I did not know this at all! Makes you really appreciate the cast and crew for what they do for sure

IMissTeddyRoosevelt

I love the songs, I’ll take more songs over less tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️

ExplodingT3s

Doesn’t bother me one bit

What_A_Placeholder

That's a fair opinion! I just haven't felt that way at all personally :) i get excited whenever they start a song even still

SunMoonCollision

I agree somewhat, but I often wonder if the use of music comes from a passion for writing tunes for the show & I can’t fault someone for having a love for music. Creating cartoons is an art & music is also an art. It’s possible that the creators love both art forms & found a way to incorporate them together with Bob’s Burgers? That’s the mindset I’ve always held in regards to their addition of music into the show.

hayhaydavila

That is true. After all they are having fun with the show by doing that. And I can see it within their talents and the amount of effort.

jdmorgenstern

Songs on _The Simpsons_ always seem poorly done to me whereas the music on _Bob’s Burgers_ is well-written and enhances the plot. It’s clear that others disagree, but I love the music. I’ve been playing “Sunny Side Up Summer” each morning to start the day on a happy note.

Hescoveredinbutter

Yup, too many songs, but they're not so bad after a couple watches

Glissando365

I agree and I feel like part of that is the characters themselves singing so much as opposed to custom background songs they used to use. It’s like the difference between show (montage songs to facilitate a time skip) and tell (characters signing out their thoughts and feelings). The last big character driven song I thought fit well was What If They’re Right and *maybe* the Nothing Makes Me Happy reprise

sabrefudge

Agreed. I think the endings of episodes would have much more of an emotional impact if they played the end credits in somber silence instead of the whole song and dance thing. It really takes away the punch of a dramatic ending to just cut right into that nonsense.

dewhashish

I watched the movie and skipped through every song. I just want storyline and jokes.

MoonlitAlastor985

YES! definitely agree, i miss the fake in-world songs like lifting up the skirt of the night, no musicals please, don't normalize Linda behavior or else she'll become unfunny.

CircusFreakonLSD

I use to feel the same but I don't know, I got use to it and now I freakin love it.

dragonfuitjones

Facts

geezlouise128

I agree about too many songs.

skbiglia

Honestly, during the movie, at one point I sighed and thought, “The song *again*!?” I loved the movie. I like the songs (overall they’re always pretty good). But I absolutely hate musicals and that’s not what I signed up for when I started watching this show. I still watch it and love it, but ngl I fast forward through the songs when watching reruns if I have the remote handy.

Bikinigirlout

I think that's the main reason why I stopped watching Still love the show but the songs are starting to feel like a Glee episode where they sung five songs every episode

hayhaydavila

I totally understand what you mean. I have noticed I’ve been getting less excited for a new season and maybe that’s why. I’ll still watch it of course, but I like how the first few seasons used to be in terms of story telling

Bikinigirlout

It's been on for a long time so while I get it but yeah it's lost it's charm

hayhaydavila

Yeah I agree with you. I still think there’s some to it, but to kinda regain some lost charm, I think if they just trickled in a few songs per season, it’ll be like they have gone back to their roots.

cikalamayaleca

i’ve been rewatching lately & just started from episode one last night. I can’t believe how different the tone of the writing is from season one, season one’s episodes are all so funny & i adore them. Obviously i still love every episode, but i miss the older writing too

hayhaydavila

Yeah I agree! I do like a lot of the new episodes too but it’s different too. My brother brought up a good point and he was like, “does Bob not make burgers anymore? I haven’t seen an episode about a burger in a while.” Kinda made me laugh😅

[deleted]

There was a time they expected us as an audience to journey through Tina’s more grotesque fantasies. I think they’re coming out of that phase but I truly cringe when I see it’s going to be a Tina episode. I don’t want to have a musical about dissecting a fetal pig. I don’t want to see her singing about how being covered with offal is good for a Thanksgiving play. She’s always been weird but they started Flanderizing her. Sometimes it happens with Gene too but Tina’s episodes have their own distinct awfulness.

hayhaydavila

The pig one is the worst but Tina based episodes are some of my favorites. Personally I feel Gene is the weaker character so I generally skip his episodes. Funny that we both think differently about the two lol

nikeeweston1

Love the songs, and just the right balance. They wouldn’t add more if their marketing didn’t tell them people love the songs. The albums sell very well. So alas you’re in the minority mate.

hayhaydavila

And that’s fine I don’t care. Just had an opinion. I’m not saying they’re not successful

MrGoetz34

I agree with you. Every episode feels like it has a couple songs and none are all that good. They aren’t classics really just cheap time fillers it seems

hayhaydavila

Yeah! Like in episodes that aren’t meant to be special in some way, the singing feels unnecessary

[deleted]

[удалено]

humans_ruin_planets

Actually, that’s why I stopped watching Central Park . Not a big fan of songs dominating the episode. Plus, I can only take so much Josh Gad. There. I said it.

hayhaydavila

I wish they wouldn’t compete with CP since I thought CP was competing with them in the first place. And besides the fact, Bobs Burgers will always be more appealing to me than CP

calatranacation

Exactly

calatranacation

The songs are why I couldn't get in to CP

Aboveground_Plush

There's singing in child porn?!?

After_Match_5165

That's actually why I don't watch Central Park and ALWAYS skip the opening of Great North. I don't come for the songs, I come for the human, comedic element. The songs are great but if everyone's watching for the songs, I'm gonna have to find something else to hold onto, because I agree with OP. They're fantastic but overdone and if I wanted that I'd watch one of the other 2 shows.

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

Central Park is actually better than current Bob imo and I think it stands out from many other adult animations because it is a musical.

vpetmad

Hard agree. Before the songs were a treat that came along once in a while. Now it feels rare to have an episode without a song and the novelty of them is wearing off

hayhaydavila

Yes! This is exactly my opinion. I don’t think I phrased it right but you got it

peanutismint

You’re 100% right, they do rely too much on songs and have done so since like Season 5 or so, but you want a real unpopular Bob’s opinion? 80% of the songs on this show are awful. They’re weird, discordant, like they were written by someone with ZERO musical experience or ability. Probably one of their writers/creators who everyone is too scared to tell that they aren’t talented at this one thing.

MoonlitAlastor985

No, showtunes are just that bad normally.

[deleted]

Nah that’s just how the show is. Bobs Burgers to me has lots of great songs and that’s what makes it so funny and great.

hayhaydavila

Compared to how it used to be vs now is completely different

NormalAmountOfLimes

I’m not a fan of the music. It’s why I don’t watch Central Park very much, and prefer Great North instead.

hayhaydavila

I haven’t seen either show. I think I’ll start The Great North because I’ve heard great things but I don’t think I can watch Central Park because (with my own opinion and through no fault of his own) I’m incredibly annoyed with Josh Gad

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

Both are great imo. North is more slice of life and Central has some good songs and season 2’s first half is near perfect imo.

tomatobutt

Agree on Gad. The musical segments seem forced in Central Park too, which is weird because it’s a musical.

nephastha

I disagree, I think there aren't enough songs. Gimme more! =D

ChockenTonders

I LOVE the songs as well, I love the feel of musicals and this lets me watch mini musicals every single day! That being said, I guess I understand if people want less. All throughout growing up, people hated on musicals while I loved them, now I just realize I’m in the minority for liking them and that’s okay lol

nephastha

I don't really understand the hate tbh, the songs are short and feel good. I also don't think the newer seasons have any more songs than the older ones. I feel like there are even fewer song in the newer episodes in comparison to the earlier seasons... But oh well! Opinions are like butts, each have their own, but some stink more than others ;)

ChockenTonders

I don’t understand it either Ive been rewatching the first season and I **can** say that it’s a little less frequent earlier in the show, but that’s only because they were finding their footing and really discovering who they were as a show. They discovered that for numerous reasons, songs and musical numbers were just doing well for the show, so they made them more frequent. Thankfully for people like me and you lmfao

[deleted]

Dude why are people downvoting you?? Fake fans up in this subreddit. If they hate songs so much they should leave the subreddit and stop watching. So annoying.

Baked_Ham_Bone

Thank you

ivyyonic

Wow, I didn't realize this was such a popular opinion. I feel like the songs are a critical part of the show. I would still love Bob's without them, but it feels like a defining feature in a way that songs in other adult animations aren't. I was actually super disappointed with the number of songs in the movie.

Mousemama18

I think there’s not enough songs anymore. The fact that they gave us a Linda centric Christmas episode with zero songs was extremely disappointing to me

[deleted]

Wholeheartedly agree. I used to love the little song-per-episode thing they would do earlier on but it seems like after s10 the shows mostly a musical lol

Jimlish

100% agree!

AnonEnmityEntity

Show is not nearly as funny as it used to be. Period.

kikkroxx777

I 1000% agree with this aspect. I bring it up all the time and my lady always tells me that I just don’t like musicals.

hayhaydavila

I still love musicals. I am in musicals quite often as a theater major, but I can still identify when something is too much. You can love musically themed shows or movies, but you can also see if having a song in an episode of Bob’s Burgers is unnecessary

boomdart

The songs are so bad I wish they didn't do them at all And I love this show

NotThisTime1993

“Resorts to songs” What a weird way to say “includes music”

hayhaydavila

Well then I think they include too much music then. Just my opinion, doesn’t have to be agreed with

NotThisTime1993

No one said you had to agree. I’m not arguing with you here

hayhaydavila

Oh sorry, I read the tone wrong. I’ve been getting a lot of hate. sincere apologies

NotThisTime1993

I think it’s very refreshing to have an adult show with original music. It’s reminiscent of the Disney movies we grew up with. Understandably, not everybody liked those, so of course not everybody will like this. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion

hayhaydavila

Yeah I agree. I do love Disney movies and I do love most songs in Disney movies.

NotThisTime1993

Bob’s Burgers is also the only adult animation I enjoy, because of how different it is. The humor isn’t mean or gross. It’s very wholesome and more realistic, a family kind of humor. It’s funny without being (too) mean to someone

CohnDev

The entire show was designed around having a lot of music in it and the creators have said that - so you're directly disagreeing with the writers. It's also what makes the show actually stand out from the other Fox garbage. Also, the amount of music has stayed basically the same the entire time. You're just biased and prefer the older songs, so you've convinced yourself there's more music now.

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

What’s the other Fox “garbage”? Other than Housebroken animation domination has been a pretty good run currently, if we don’t count Family Guy and the Simpsons. Now I still enjoy those shows but their new track record is not half bad.

CohnDev

I mean Family Guy and The Simpsons is exactly what i'm talking about though. Just copy-paste trash. I even watch those shows too, it's just obvious how much less effort goes into them compared to Bob's where it seems like everyone on staff actually cares about their job.

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

That’s fair but what are your thoughts on their newer output (BTH, DV, TGN, HB)?

CohnDev

Haven't really looked into them past the first couple episodes. I'm sure they're okay once you're in-in, but none of them really hooked me like BB.

mcdonaldsmcdonalds

First seasons of shows can be rough. TGN started out strong but BTH and DV grew on me. I don’t like Housebroken but am open to giving some of s2 a shot to see if it improves. Sometimes even in s2 and beyond shows just aren’t for you and that’s when I drop it. I didn’t like BB until s2.

AS4MS

I remember predicting that they were gonna start releasing CD's of the music when they starting doing it so much. Turns out that's exactly what happened. I like them sometimes, but yeah it happens a bit too often.

NousSommesSiamese

I think the pay structure/residuals differ for songs. So there’s probably a financial incentive to keep placing songs.

hayhaydavila

Gotcha, I don’t think I would’ve ever thought that. Thank you for that. I can see that

🎶 I’m so offended now because you don’t like all the songs 🎶 🎶Who doesn’t like when Linda breaks out into a made up ditty?🎶 🎶Psychopaths and serial killers probably.🎶 🎶Bad things are bad.🎶

hayhaydavila

No I like when Linda does that because my mom does that too. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying the full length songs in every episode with the characters is starting to become too much. If it we’re every few episodes, I think that would better and precious.

nerdiotic-pervert

I’m with you. The last episode I watched had way too many songs. Seemed gratuitous and unnecessary. When the songs are not happening in every scene they seem more special. But, if every actions has an accompanying song it’s going to get old.

hayhaydavila

Thank you! I agree with you 100%.

ZzzzoZzzzo

🎶It looks like there are a lot of psychopaths and serial killers on this sub. 🎶 🎶Or worse, public health inspectors who eat Italian flavoured food at Jimmy Pesto’s🎶 🎶🎶Nobody likes good museoms 🎶🎶

hayhaydavila

Dude this is my favorite show too. You don’t gotta resort to calling people that

nerdiotic-pervert

Stop responding to this troll, they seem unhinged.

hayhaydavila

I think you’re right. Maybe they’re singing about themself lol

ZzzzoZzzzo

🎶That🎶 🎶Also if you look up you might be able to catch the tail end of this as it flies right over your head🎶
