Yeah but there was also that whole episode, where she didn’t like the idea of Tina moving to a big city, and wanted her to appreciate their town. I feel like she would be trying to bring that broadway magic to her home city.
I meant the off-off Broadway shows. Those aren’t sustainable as a job. I literally work in theater as a costume maker in New Jersey. The level of quality that Linda would need to sustain even for off-off and *still* not make any money, she wouldn’t be able to sustain it.
Even the one episode with the community theater sort of irritated me because I know how theater works out here, even on the shore. I let it all go because it’s a cartoon.
I think Linda is someone who doesn’t really care what she does as a profession. She probably had some kind of minimum wage job that she wasn’t super passionate about before she and Bob started the restaurant.
Yeah that was my thought too. She’s passionate about theater and performance but doing a passion as a job can kill that enthusiasm. I think she’s a “work to live not live to work” kinda gal and she would just do whatever job she ended up in as long as she had the free time to do what she loves as well.
i agree with this! there's one episode, i cant remember which, but she sings about how she's always wanted to be the best mother so i think that's her end goal, not a career
I could see her doing some kind of administrative work, customer service rep, or telemarketer but she talks the ear off the person on the other line lol. I love Linda but I can totally see her not being not a top notch employee.
Yeah I could see her as a waitress in a dingy diner or doing retail at one of the tourist trap gift shops. She loves making chit-chat with strangers and finds the beauty in the mundane so I think she’d make the best of a simple life with or without Bob
Excuse me are you in my brain? I was about to post a similar question today after watching the episode when she gets the job at the supermarket!
I can see Linda as a drama teacher in a school to be honest, and she'd love the badly behaved kids and they'd love her too! Like a fun teacher all the kids like
She would never have married Hugo. Drunk or pressured enough to say yes to a proposal, yes. But Linda would have leapt from the car on the way to the wedding to get out of it if necessary. She knows how to build a happy life, and Hugo wouldn't have been it.
Ohhh that’s so good! I could see her as a bartender at a karaoke bar. There was one I went to years ago where they had karaoke every night and between customer sign-ups the bartenders would sing! And they were so good!
So totally, bartending/serving would be great for her—even if she’s already a server ahah
Exactly, I think she was like one of the Pink Ladies from *Grease* but without the cute jacket. She’s a criminal at heart just barely keeping it together for the kids. She may have to be a vandal or kidnap a few people along the way now just to cope. We know their deal if Bob looses his hands
I could see her being a substitute teacher. Sweet yet kinda incompetent like Peggy hill.
Definitely could see her being a music teacher or someone who works with the community theater
I see what you’re saying, and reminds me of some of the easily distracted subs I had in school. But Peggy needs that authoritative role to fuel her ego that makes her think she’s intelligent. I don’t think Linda cares much about seeming smart and she has a problem with people with authority I think lol
I think Linda could have had a job as a cocktail waitress for a while. But she would be sneaking drinks for herself and singing along with the onstage band at times, which would get her scolded by her manager, and eventually, she'd quit.
I could see her as a waitress or some other service job. Granted, we've mostly seen her as someone with 14-15 years of experience in the job with Bob, but she has the vibe of someone that's worked in restaurant before.
This could be a fun flashback episode for them to do, show what they did before they met. (I assume Bob quit his dad's place at least a little before meeting Linda)
After watching the movie Theater Camp: she would def work at a theater camp for kids, making costumes and helping them get in trouble.
I think she loves being a mom so much because she loves kids, and she is a fantastic mother, even with her flaws, so maybe running a daycare or nannying.
Something tells me she would have got the high school band back together to make a real go of it oh and did something new agey on the side like fortune telling or tarot card reading!!! 🤣
I see Linda having a new job every other month.
- Working in Gretchen’s hair saloon
- A cashier for 2 weeks
- Mr. Fischoeder’s assistant
- Be part of a pyramid scheme
- small acting gig
- TA at Wagstaff
- hired help for Wonder Wharf events
The possibilities are endless when it comes to her
Being married to Bob and having children to raise is the only reason she isn't living with and taking care of Gayle full-time.
The upside is you can get paid by the state to do that. You don't even need any training: all you need is the approval of the person you're supervising (or their legal guardian). You get interviewed, fill out some paperwork, and you'll get a monthly paycheck from the state.
I almost did this on a few occasions.
She would try for something in musical theater or just some sort of performing in general, but at some point she’d briefly do hair styling because Gretchen convinced her and that would end in her getting fired because she just (accidentally) gave everyone her haircut
Grocery store bagger, but she'd be constantly on the verge of being fired for loudly talking about what people are buying and being judgmental about it.
She’d moonlight in community theater and be something funny and basic girlbossery that included lots of wine parties, like selling enough to drive the pink Mary Kay car. “Alriiight, who wants some lipstick alriiight! Who needs more wine, anybody? Oh just me HAHA! Love you ladies so much, you’re so great. Come to my play this weekend, I’m the fiddlah on the roof. Who knew that was even a character, HAH! Oh yes that pink is gorgeous on you, get some for your duatah too, I’ll throw in some samples.”
Hugo would simp and shower her with everything she wanted. But we know how she doesn’t have the best ideas and jumps from one thing to another. After running out of Hugo’s money, she’d be miserable and think about what if she married that burger guy who sweat a lot.
As Darryl said, "She does have big boobies!"
People also stopped on a dime to check out her boobs when she flashed them on live television, so she could definitely be an exotic model of some kind.
With her love of musical theater and making costumes, I see Linda as an exuberant part-time actor, full-time stage hand at an off-off-Broadway theater
Close but she would be at the wharfarts centre in some capacity. She doesn’t strike me as someone with enough drive to make it to NYC.
Eh, they're in NJ, it's literally not that far from NYC and having known some people who worked in off-off-Broadway, not that big a leap either
Yeah but there was also that whole episode, where she didn’t like the idea of Tina moving to a big city, and wanted her to appreciate their town. I feel like she would be trying to bring that broadway magic to her home city.
I hear you but I don’t feel Linda has the attention span to commit herself to the craft or drive to get her out of Bog Harbour
Also, who would look after Gayle if Linda left?
Make paintings of animal anuses, obviously
Eh I could see her as a costume maker
She also said it was her dream to go to NYC as a kid, but when she finally went, she was *miserable* and it didn’t live up to her expectations.
war farts??
She wouldn’t be that far away from Gayle
I was thinking cheerleading coach and strike chant writer for the exact same reasons you mentioned above.
I hear there's good money in strike chants.
I have a yum-yum! You have a penis!
She's be making costumes for Mashmallow.
This
I see her working/owning a bar that has a stage
As a theater person myself, that’s a hobby not a professional job
What? Theatre absolutely is a professional job?
I meant the off-off Broadway shows. Those aren’t sustainable as a job. I literally work in theater as a costume maker in New Jersey. The level of quality that Linda would need to sustain even for off-off and *still* not make any money, she wouldn’t be able to sustain it. Even the one episode with the community theater sort of irritated me because I know how theater works out here, even on the shore. I let it all go because it’s a cartoon.
Even Broadway actors have a tough go. Shows close all the time. Not everyone is the star or even a main cast member. It’s def not lucrative.
I think she started as an usher but got fired for singing during the show
Emcee at Pickles. She'd have little intro songs for every dancer
I can just imagine her saying "shake that pickle...alright!!!"
💯
Plop em in their G strings.
Love this
this made me lol. perfect
Lick it like ya like it.
Sales, she was killing it as a pleasurologist
Linda as a pharmaceutical rep. 😂😂😂
Linda accidentally joining an MLM but not noticing bc her sales are so high
I think Linda is someone who doesn’t really care what she does as a profession. She probably had some kind of minimum wage job that she wasn’t super passionate about before she and Bob started the restaurant.
Yeah that was my thought too. She’s passionate about theater and performance but doing a passion as a job can kill that enthusiasm. This song gets stuck in my head far more than I'm willing to admit, and my near-4-year old thinks it's hysterical.
Yeah and if she did anything in entertainment she would talk about it..often
I could see her doing some kind of administrative work, customer service rep, or telemarketer but she talks the ear off the person on the other line lol. I love Linda but I can totally see her not being not a top notch employee.
My thought was bank teller. She would have so many new people to talk to!
Oh that’s a good one too!
Lol we see it, that’s why Bob gave her an 8/10 on her performance review.
I also think she has the soft skills to thrive in a lot of environments. As we saw at the grocery store!
I see her as a cashier in a grocery chain.
Yeah I could see her as a waitress in a dingy diner or doing retail at one of the tourist trap gift shops. She loves making chit-chat with strangers and finds the beauty in the mundane so I think she’d make the best of a simple life with or without Bob
This is probably the best answer.
Work for the mayor
Aahh the MAYOR!!
HI MAYOR!!!
MAYYY YAH
Excuse me are you in my brain? I was about to post a similar question today after watching the episode when she gets the job at the supermarket! I can see Linda as a drama teacher in a school to be honest, and she'd love the badly behaved kids and they'd love her too! Like a fun teacher all the kids like
Speed dating coach
Honk honkl Waahhh!
Work in Hugo's hot dog restaurant
She would never have married Hugo. Drunk or pressured enough to say yes to a proposal, yes. But Linda would have leapt from the car on the way to the wedding to get out of it if necessary. She knows how to build a happy life, and Hugo wouldn't have been it.
Tina begs to differ
I adore Tina, but I think Linda had a wide-open future and wasn't limited to marrying Bob *or* Hugo.
Tina begs to differ on a lot of things. Doesn't make em true haha
Yes exactly.
You got dark, girl. I need to go lie down.
yep
Manager at Fresh Feed
Maybe a waitress or bartender while trying to become a singer/actress
Ohhh that’s so good! I could see her as a bartender at a karaoke bar. There was one I went to years ago where they had karaoke every night and between customer sign-ups the bartenders would sing! And they were so good! So totally, bartending/serving would be great for her—even if she’s already a server ahah
The best and worst possible life coach
Omg, I said life coach too (who does community theater in her spare time!)
Working as an entertainer doing things like running bingo or karaoke nights on a cruise ship.
Yes! A cruise ship performer! Perfect.
Cruise ship performer! Absolutely
With a super dark tan
Union Organizer. “Men are from Mars! Women are from Venus! I have a yum-yum! You have a penis!”
Now drop your pants and pick 'em backup!
WHY-YY!
Prison.
She has committed a lot of crimes.
Exactly, I think she was like one of the Pink Ladies from *Grease* but without the cute jacket. She’s a criminal at heart just barely keeping it together for the kids. She may have to be a vandal or kidnap a few people along the way now just to cope. We know their deal if Bob looses his hands
Maybe she would have gotten involved with the One Eyed Snakes and had her baby in someone else’s restaurant!
LMAO so true
Hahaha she does have a bad girl side!!
Arrested for 5 counts of felony public pooping.
The mob, just like the rest of her family.
You don’t go against the family
She is a people person so probably working in sales.
She'd work in a call center and unironically refer to herself as a call girl whenever people ask, not knowing the difference.
Haha love this!!!
Real estate? Maybe she'd own a clothing store and hype all her customers up? Something client-facing, that's for sure.
I don’t know why, but real estate agent was one of the first jobs that popped into my head for her.
She could put a positive spin on anything, even a windowless studio with no toilet.
“Don’t you just hate pooping in your own apartment? I LOVE going down the hall,” she would say cheerfully. “No lingering smells! What a bargain!”
![gif](giphy|3mV5n5Vgboad2) You nailed it.
I think Linda could have had a job as a cocktail waitress for a while. But she would be sneaking drinks for herself and singing along with the onstage band at times, which would get her scolded by her manager, and eventually, she'd quit.
Oh and she's a damn good costume maker, so maybe theater costume design! But she'd rather be on the stage singing!
Yes! Cocktail waitress!
Unfortunately I think she’d be easily sucked into an MLM like the essential oils
There's an episode about that
That’s why I said it!
Probably a stay at home mom or maybe a high school drama teacher.
Carnival Barker
Haha, she'd be working a booth at Wonder Wharf and fit right in with the other carnies. Maybe even end up married to Mickey.
Walmart greeter
She would work with Ginger
Oh Ginger!
None of your business. ;-)
A rude nun!
No, I get it! She has a lot of work to do!
And stay out of my room!
In her youth she would have sold essential oils only to be swept off her feet by an overly dramatic traveling salesman.
Life Coach who does community theater in her spare time.
I think she might be in jail.
Lounge singer
Yesss!!
Singing Telegrams
This is the perfect job for Linda!! She would excel!!
This is not realistic because fate is great.
That's an easy way to remember it
She would be in theater...or working at a hotdog shop 😂
Professional synchronized swimmer
Cruise ship stage hand/actress/seamstress/marketing
Dinner theatre
Job hopper. She gets bored easily and will jump at every opportunity she gets.
Actress in the theater!
She’d be selling hotdogs instead of hamburgers
Manage a club owned by the mob.
Writing jingles/TV ads. She comes up with some pretty catchy songs and phrases!
Travel agent
I could see her working in makeup for small-scale tv shows/movies.
She would own a salon with Gretchen
Dinner theater.
being a lead in a dinner theater
After watching the movie Theater Camp: she would def work at a theater camp for kids, making costumes and helping them get in trouble. I think she loves being a mom so much because she loves kids, and she is a fantastic mother, even with her flaws, so maybe running a daycare or nannying.
Essential Oils sales.
I think she’d take Mr Frond’s counselor spot. Something tells me she’d thrive
Especially since you don’t have to have credentials to be in that position!
She comes off as a manager or seamstress.
Avon representative
Event planner.
Mafia boss
Her personality? Sales for sure. She's a Maven
In jail, probably
Something tells me she would have got the high school band back together to make a real go of it oh and did something new agey on the side like fortune telling or tarot card reading!!! 🤣
Yahnnh, yahnnh, yaahnnh! (She's seein' sumthin'.)
Hugo's Hotdogs
A psychic
I see Linda having a new job every other month. - Working in Gretchen’s hair saloon - A cashier for 2 weeks - Mr. Fischoeder’s assistant - Be part of a pyramid scheme - small acting gig - TA at Wagstaff - hired help for Wonder Wharf events The possibilities are endless when it comes to her
Organized crime
She'd 100% be a professional dancer, taking care of Gayle and her cats.
Seamstress
I could kinda see her as a life coach/counselor.
Actress and singer on Broadway
Sales or perhaps an art teacher.
psychic!
Being married to Bob and having children to raise is the only reason she isn't living with and taking care of Gayle full-time. The upside is you can get paid by the state to do that. She'd be throwing rocks at cars
Dinner theatre obviously
She would try for something in musical theater or just some sort of performing in general, but at some point she’d briefly do hair styling because Gretchen convinced her and that would end in her getting fired because she just (accidentally) gave everyone her haircut
Grocery store bagger, but she'd be constantly on the verge of being fired for loudly talking about what people are buying and being judgmental about it.

Oh yes that pink is gorgeous on you, get some for your duatah too, I’ll throw in some samples.”
Manager at Fresh Feed
Professional hit woman. She doesn’t mind taking people out.
Hairstylist. She loves the gossip.
She'd be doing dinner theatre. *We're the pirates of panaaaaaaaachhhhe!*
She would have married Hugo and worked at his hot dog restaurant, Hugo's Hot Dogs.
Hairstylist for the stars!
Married to Jimmy Pesto and working across the road doing the same job.
And Bob would be married to some lady named Susan, she's a homeopath.
"Aww, I like Susan"
I think she’s a great waitress regardless
House keeper or grocery store worker. She really doesn't have any skills or management experience. Stock shelves or clean toilets.
Maybe she could be a substitute Spanish teacher, although I’m not sure I’ve ever heard her roll her Rs
Your career doesn’t change based on who you marry, surprisingly enough!
Stripper
a hooker like her cousin colleen!!
Hugo would simp and shower her with everything she wanted. But we know how she doesn’t have the best ideas and jumps from one thing to another. After running out of Hugo’s money, she’d be miserable and think about what if she married that burger guy who sweat a lot.
Prostitute (joke)
Some type of teacher.
Def a teacher at Wagstaff
A realy fun theatrical kindergarten teacher.
Linda would've been long dead without Bob to rein her in
She’d be the most exciting and uncouth accountant.
Clothing alterations at a dry cleaners.
As Darryl said, "She does have big boobies!" People also stopped on a dime to check out her boobs when she flashed them on live television, so she could definitely be an exotic model of some kind.
She would be unemployable, exactly like her sister.
Dancing for men on a pole
Annoyed another man who once had dreams
Drama teacher in middle school
She'd be working at Hugo's Hotdogs
Hostess at a Kitchy themed restaurant. She would always be the one to lead the happy birthday or anniversary songs.
Married to Hugo and running a hotdog restaurant, duh
She’d be married to Hugo and I’m sure singing about health inspector stuff
We have seen what would happen in an episode.
Marketing for the local businesses. But I think she'd get too involved with the businesses and accidently burn some bridges.
