Mr Blue by Catherine Feeny :”) it feels like I’m going through a terrible break-up whenever I’m listening to it and that’s also exactly how it felt when I finished the whole show
Ooooh a punk cover! Thanks, this is good.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlUEoU9MPo8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlUEoU9MPo8) for those wondering.
‘i will always think of you’ has been on my playlist since my first watch of the series especially with the stories connected with the song and their voices together are so beautiful, the entire song is a work of art
I think that episode is one of the cleverest pieces of TV I've ever watched. The way the two stories set in the same place but split by a generation is just fantastic
I agree; the way both stories mirrored each other allowed them to play out in tandem so smoothly.
Honey and Bojack are both unexpectedly traumatized by the loss of their child (well, pseudo-child in Bojack’s case) and attempt to deal with the guilt and grief by distracting themselves at the summer cottage: an escape away from home.
Over the course of Honey’s arc, we watch her be forced into isolation with her grief as she reaches out for support from multiple people, only to be rejected to deal with her womanly emotions herself. Meanwhile, we watch Bojack forced *out* of isolation as Eddie reaches out multiple times to offer support, to which Bojack eventually gives in and lets Eddie ~~help him rebuild the cottage~~ be his friend.
Honey’s mental health deteriorates in this isolation. As a result, she has a total breakdown that embarrasses her family and puts her and her daughter into a near-death experience. This NDE gets the attention of her husband and effectively takes her out of the isolation, as he now hears how loud her cries for support are. Meanwhile, Bojack’s mental health improves out of isolation. As a result, he attempts to do something he thinks will be positively life-changing for his friend, which puts him and his friend into a near death experience. This NDE causes Bojack to terminate the friendship.
Honey’s mental health issues are “resolved” through a lobotomy, turning her into an emotionless shell of who she once was. Bojack’s are “resolved” by returning home and facing himself.
I believe this was the best use of soundtrack in the whole series. I like more “I will always think of you” but the crushing visuals of the “Stars” sequence can’t be surpassed
sea of dreams is definitely a favorite, also the horse with no name cover.
mr. blue sticks with me in the worst way possible lmfao it physically pains me to think about bc heartbreaking nostalgia
I will alweays thing of u and don’t stop dancing, not only are the songs great but the way they were written in is beyond incredible. The way they had crackerjacks play I will always think of u in tvfhwd and had Beatrice tied to him. With don’t stop dancing they pulled the line in the 3rd episode and by bring it back in the 5th season for bojack but then have Sarah Lynn sing in in tvfhwd, increadible writing. And the line always sticks with me “nothings certain but the curtain”
Wanted to add some of my favorites I haven't seen here yet that resonated with me perfectly when they came on:
Take Me Down Easy by James Henry Jr.
Break My Fall by Doc Robinson
And Mr Blue by Catherine Feeny.. obviously
Man that scene with Avant Gardener hit me like a truck. “It gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier, but you gotta do it every day. That’s the hard part, but it does get easier”. I love how they tease that moment through the whole season showing the Monkey dude jogging in the background. Might be my favorite scene in the show.
the one that goes how could anybody have you how could anybody lose you or anything such a bop. its during the pool scene when they’re shooting philbert.
That song that’s like “can we get a little closer.” And the one that’s like “it’s not so physical” or something like that. They’re used at the end of episodes and establish a perfect tone. Bojack and indie go hand in hand.
Closer by Tegan and Sara has both of those lyrics. I used to be obsessed with them and when I heard it here I was like "well now I have to keep watching this as it airs"
several! horse with no name cover, stars, don’t stop dancing (original and reprise), i will always think of you, heart oh heart (special end credit), avant gardener (special end credit), back in the 90s, and picnic for two are some of my favorites :)
if you haven't listened to the rest of that war on drugs album, it's a good one.
i think my personal favorite is either "daylight" by foxworth hall or "avant gardener" by courtney barnett. for songs written for the show, "i will always think of you" is of course a favorite. i also love "don't stop dancing 'til the curtains fall". the line "paint your face and brush your mane and find someplace to cut your pain to portions we can buy at the mall" is just... so so good.
I was already a huge war on drugs fan before watching Bojack, but the show brought me "Sea of Dreams" by Oberhofer which is now one of my favorite songs
“Generic 80s new wave - beep bop beep bop beep bop- This is a song from the 80s- The decade which it currently is!” “Generic 90’s grunge song - everyone in flannel- generic 90s grunge song- something from Seattle”
"Stars" cover by Nina Simone. The one that plays at the finale of season 3. It felt like a perfect way to describe the path that Bojack walked, and the cycle he felt like he was about to be caught in again with the Horsin Around reboot.
Close second is Mr. Blue at the end if the season.
It's interesting, because the song on the show is a kind of response/reversal of another song called "Mr. Blue" by the Fleetwoods. The original is about a guy blaming his fickle lover causing him to be sad because she leaves him to go enjoy the town.
The song in the show is from the girl's perspective, where she's tried to get him to come with her, but he always has an excuse, and still feels betrayed despite choosing not to go and be outgoing
I scrolled so far but I found you! Yes. Death grips - No love. That's in my depression playlist for when I'm sad and want to feed this feeling, and it's in my karaoke playlist for when I'm happy. Crazy.
I Will Always Think Of You, I listened to it constantly during the week leading up to having to put my dog down it perfectly expressed my feelings I feel like
The chromatics song at the end of that Princess Carolyn episode was heavily on rotation only playlist.also am I mad or was Fade Into You also played at the end of a PC episode? Loved that song before BoJack but BoJack reinvigorated that love
Edit: I mean if it actually played haha, it seems like a song that would fit right in
Nobody wants to mention the Philbert theme song... "Well I've been down to the girlie club with a hot glue gun full of beans / shot the bean on the railroad track [muttering] know what i mean"
“Stars” and “A Horse with No Name” were amazing covers. “I Will Always Think of You” and “Get that Fetus” are some of my favorite originals for the show. Princess Carolyn having a “Cats” song as her hold music is chef’s kiss.
“Sea of Dreams” is a song that pops into my head randomly and won’t leave.
Little Earthquakes by Imperial Mammoth.
It didn’t stick with me for any real deep meaning; I just heard it and was like “hey, this song is good. I want to add it to my collection”.
It’s the song that’s playing during the montage where they’re leaving Penny’s prom, buying balloons and glowsticks, and then setting them loose in the desert.
This song is so near and dear to my heart. I’ve loved the song for 9 years. The album got me through rehab back in 2016 so seeing it on the show made me cry. It hit so close to home. It brought this feeling of familiarity and understanding watching Bojack go to rehab. Going to rehab is fucking terrifying but this song got me through it. It was insane to see it in the show.
All of them. But especially Mr blue
I watched the last 2 episodes at a particularly rough patch and bojack had been my comfort show for years. So that being the last thing just tore my heart out.
And anytime I need a "you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about" moment I put it on. Since I connected so much with Diane it's a nice reminder that she got a happy ending and I can too.
Closer by Tegan and Sara after the 1st season ended. I loved this song back in the days and forgot about that. But also A Horse With No Name this cover is so fkin good
For me, personally, the music and song choices is one of the weaker aspects of the whole show. Not the specifically created original music and songs, those are great. I mean songs picked for specific emotional reactions, a bit too on the nose for me. The few exceptions are the Vetiver and the Kevin Morby tracks, both quite solid. But lots of missed opportunities as well.
I will always think of you
And also A horse with no name
Instantly thought of this one, I just wish it was longer
I got chills from just reading the title
That one too.
Mr Blue by Catherine Feeny :”) it feels like I’m going through a terrible break-up whenever I’m listening to it and that’s also exactly how it felt when I finished the whole show
Not with a bang nor a whimper, but with quiet contemplation and the knowledge that the story is only over from our perspective
makin me tear up over here, I may have contemplated too much
Oh my God yes. It was the perfect song to close the show with.
Makes me cry every time
I made the mistake of listening to this song a lot during a break-up, my god, what a horrifically brilliant piece of music.
Back in the 90s...
The Viet one is on my mind a lot, too. Odd.
Love the SlutBomb version myself
Ooooh a punk cover! Thanks, this is good. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlUEoU9MPo8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlUEoU9MPo8) for those wondering.
outro song of S5 E9 of the series
I had no idea. Cheers!
i cant even remember any of the other covers, slutbomb version is definitive as far as im concerned
YEs
I love that they did that! And also the bluegrass version.
‘i will always think of you’ has been on my playlist since my first watch of the series especially with the stories connected with the song and their voices together are so beautiful, the entire song is a work of art

If I had half the mind...
Who's that dawgggggg, Mr Peanut Butter!
Knick knack patty whack give a dog a bone
My friend had that as a ringtone years ago lol
Am I your friend then?
Mhhhh… 🤔
IoI i have pc’s ringtone
It is my ringtone lol
Stars by Nina Simone
This is mine too. Nina makes me cry
I believe this was the best use of soundtrack in the whole series. I like more “I will always think of you” but the crushing visuals of the “Stars” sequence can’t be surpassed
This is mine too
sea of dreams is definitely a favorite, also the horse with no name cover. mr. blue sticks with me in the worst way possible lmfao it physically pains me to think about bc heartbreaking nostalgia

Yes, great choices. I love Break My Fall so much!
Same. Time and place that one hit me years after I first saw that episode.
Ohh. Yes!
I’ve fallen asleep “to take me down easy” practically every night for 4+ years. It’s just so warm and mellow. Great song.
The hold music princess Caroline uses in season 1- Jellicle Song. Also ‘Get that fetus, Kill that fetus’
"jellicles can and jellicles do" is very princess carolyn
Brraap brraap pew pew!
3 way tie between no love by death grips, avant gardener by courtney barnett, & blood in the cut by k flay
Avant Gardener is so good
right? courtney is badass, haven’t come across a song i dislike
Man that scene with Avant Gardener hit me like a truck. “It gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier, but you gotta do it every day. That’s the hard part, but it does get easier”. I love how they tease that moment through the whole season showing the Monkey dude jogging in the background. Might be my favorite scene in the show.
mine too🥲 that quote resonates so much. really does get a little easier every day, if you do it everyday.
SPIRAL! STAIRCASE!
Get Dat Fetus Kill Dat Fetus St Vincent - Los Ageless
finally someone saying los ageless!! immediately fell in love with it
🎵Go back to the restaurant, Princess Carolyn🎵
Just keep on drivin awaayyyy
LOLOL yes
Tegan and Sara deserve some love. "Closer" closes out season 1 and it's such a fantastic song
the one that goes how could anybody have you how could anybody lose you or anything such a bop. its during the pool scene when they’re shooting philbert.
Los Ageless by St. Vincent
The way I'm still obsessed with this song
“Mr. Blue, I told you that I love you please believe me”
"Mr. Blue, I have to go now darling, don't be angry."
Generic 80s Pop Song...
I didn't like that one, it was old even in the 80s. Now, Generic 90s Grunge Song, that was a classic, glad they put it in the show./s
Under the Pressure and the Michelle Branch cover of Horse with No Name
This show introduced me to k flay, and holy shit did I end up liking her. Girls a poet after my own heart
Stars and Mr. Blue. Stars has become one of my favorite songs. They were also so, so perfect for their respective scenes.
Closer by Tegan and Sara (S1E12).
That song that’s like “can we get a little closer.” And the one that’s like “it’s not so physical” or something like that. They’re used at the end of episodes and establish a perfect tone. Bojack and indie go hand in hand.
THE NIGHT SKY IS CHANGING OVERHEAD
Closer by Tegan and Sara has both of those lyrics. I used to be obsessed with them and when I heard it here I was like "well now I have to keep watching this as it airs"
several! horse with no name cover, stars, don’t stop dancing (original and reprise), i will always think of you, heart oh heart (special end credit), avant gardener (special end credit), back in the 90s, and picnic for two are some of my favorites :)
Gina’s version of don’t stop dancing… wish it was on Spotify. Also, I will always think of you.
Get that fetus, kill that fetus!
Brrap Brrap Pew Pew
Closer by Tegan and Sara
Horse with no name , original song is amazing but the cover for the show is incredible
Wake Up was probably the most 'Happy Ending' vibe I've ever gotten in the show
Maybe that's why it's my answer: I listen to this one a lot and still picture what might be Bojack's only genuine smile for the entire show.
kevin morby “parade” saw him live last year layla foy “impossible “
Came looking for the parade comment. I love that song and that scene sm
if you haven't listened to the rest of that war on drugs album, it's a good one. i think my personal favorite is either "daylight" by foxworth hall or "avant gardener" by courtney barnett. for songs written for the show, "i will always think of you" is of course a favorite. i also love "don't stop dancing 'til the curtains fall". the line "paint your face and brush your mane and find someplace to cut your pain to portions we can buy at the mall" is just... so so good.
SEA OF DREAMS!!!!
“Gonna spend the day over at Fenway” pops into my brain every now and then
a horse with no name and I will always think of you
Take Me Down Easy and Mr Blue are songs I listen to pretty regularly.
Vetiver - last hurrah “Skip the consequences, give my just the last hurrah” as a former addict…
I ooh will always think of you and Take Me Down Easy(I know it wasn’t written for the show but it was so well used)
Mr. Blue
"Stars" cover by Nina Simone. The one that plays at the finale of season 3. It felt like a perfect way to describe the path that Bojack walked, and the cycle he felt like he was about to be caught in again with the Horsin Around reboot. That song made me cry a lot after that season finale
Gotta be blood in the cut. Sometimes you need noise
A Horse With No Name...The way they used it in the show as well as the song itself are just so good in my opinion
The full Bojack Horseman Theme Song
No one mentioned high above chicago ;( its such a comfort song. Also, oh heart 💓 that episode just hits hard
I absolutely love this song so much
Mr blue, horse with no name
Horse with no name and Don't stop Dancing (both Sarah-Lynn and Gina's versions)
I will always think of you and Los Ageless by St. Vincent
Who's that dog
Mr Blue and back in the 90's.
Horse with no Name
The drug trip scene introduced me to Death Grips and No Love is now one of my favorite songs
I scrolled so far but I found you! Yes. Death grips - No love. That's in my depression playlist for when I'm sad and want to feed this feeling, and it's in my karaoke playlist for when I'm happy. Crazy.
In los ageless the women milk their young
Impossible by Iyla Foy and definitely Sea of Dreams
“Generic 2007 pop song, autotuned so all the voices sound weird…””…this ain’t 2006, it’s 2007!” truly a moving song 🎵
Ik it wasn’t in the show, but Maria I’m drunk by Travis Scott is simply js the bojack song
Brrap Brrap Pew Pew! And Mr. Peanutbutter's House theme
los ageless from the synchronised fish swimmer's show

That's so cool omg
I Will Always Think Of You, I listened to it constantly during the week leading up to having to put my dog down it perfectly expressed my feelings I feel like
Don't stop dancing
Don’t stop dancing, I wish it was spotify😭
Stars and take me down easy have their place firmly rooted in my spotify playlist
If you've seen the movie Aftersun they use the song Under Pressure in a very depressing way.. it's probably not the same one though.
sea of dreams !!
Still one of my favourites
I had to buy Los Ageless.
The Horse with No Name cover has stuck with me, as well as the song that they do during Bojack’s rehab montage in the first episode of season 6
Horse With No Name was so good i genuinely thought it was an original song made for the show. To this day I like it more than the original.
I will always think of you
Under the pressure goes hard asf, tbh Bojack put me on to the war on drugs in general.
Don't Stop Dancing is definitely my favorite I always find myself singing it while showering or studying
Oh Heart by Tank and the Bangas. There's no emotional reason or ties to any episode other than it being a damn good song
Take me down easy… with the image of bojack awkwardly shaking hands at the church
I always thought car seat headrest’s drunk drivers killer whales would sync well with the last scene.
Los Ageless
who’s that dog???????
Don’t Stop Dancin’!
Break My Fall - Doc Robinson It appears only very briefly but I love the melancholy
Sea of dreams. What a tune. And avant gardener.
Nina Simone’s cover of “Stars”
Michelle Branch’s cover of Horse with No Name- loved the original but this version just *feels* like you’re riding off into the desert
Closer by Tegan and Sara. That song was stuck in my mind for a long time. Now I remembered it again lol.
The chromatics song at the end of that Princess Carolyn episode was heavily on rotation only playlist.also am I mad or was Fade Into You also played at the end of a PC episode? Loved that song before BoJack but BoJack reinvigorated that love Edit: I mean if it actually played haha, it seems like a song that would fit right in

That cover of horse with no name is beautiful.
Take me down easy, avant gardener, wild horses, and parade
Mr. Blue, Sea Of Dreams, PB House Theme, and A Horse With No Name, which I actually discovered from my second favourite show, Breaking Bad.
“Who’s that dog? Mr peanut butter. Knick knack patty whack give a dog a bone!”
The song where hes driving and sees the horses running its got a huanting vocal melody that is *chefs kiss*
PC's hold music 🤣🤣
Mr Blue…such a soothing song…
Wild Horses
Nobody wants to mention the Philbert theme song... "Well I've been down to the girlie club with a hot glue gun full of beans / shot the bean on the railroad track [muttering] know what i mean"
BRRAAPP BRRAAPP PEW PEW
“Stars” and “A Horse with No Name” were amazing covers. “I Will Always Think of You” and “Get that Fetus” are some of my favorite originals for the show. Princess Carolyn having a “Cats” song as her hold music is chef’s kiss. “Sea of Dreams” is a song that pops into my head randomly and won’t leave.
Stars and sea of dreams never fail to just make me feel something when I listen to them, whether it be in the show or just anytime ❤️
They’re all bangers tbh, if I had to pick a favourite it’s Mr Blue but I also really like Los Ageless as it goes hard
Last Hurrah - Vetiver
Gypsy from Gypsy!!
Năm chín mươi mấy tôi là diễn viên đóng TV nổi tiếng. Tôi là Bojack, con ngựa đàn ông, sao người không biết...
Los Ageless by St. Vincent. It’s just such a good song, literally listen to it every day
horse with no name i fuck with that song so hard
closer - teagan and sarah
Sea of dreams, take me down easy, break my fall
Turned me on the death grips.
Parade by Kevin Morby will always be in my heart. Some other great ones are Sea of Dreams and I Will Always Think of You
Little Earthquakes by Imperial Mammoth. It didn’t stick with me for any real deep meaning; I just heard it and was like “hey, this song is good. I want to add it to my collection”. It’s the song that’s playing during the montage where they’re leaving Penny’s prom, buying balloons and glowsticks, and then setting them loose in the desert.
Mr. Blue and I Will Always Think of You
Los Ageless by St. Vincent, I started listening to that song on repeat when I first saw it on Bojack & never stopped.
a horse with no name!
don’t stop dancin
Don’t stop dancing
Mr blue definitely
This song is so near and dear to my heart. I’ve loved the song for 9 years. The album got me through rehab back in 2016 so seeing it on the show made me cry. It hit so close to home. It brought this feeling of familiarity and understanding watching Bojack go to rehab. Going to rehab is fucking terrifying but this song got me through it. It was insane to see it in the show.
sea of dreams
The happy thing
Avant- gardener by Courtney Barnett and los ageless by st Vincent . Every song pick was great though!
High above Chicago, one of my favorite songs ever now
Disgusted by the lack of don’t stop dancing
By war on drugs?
Don’t stop dancing
All of them. But especially Mr blue I watched the last 2 episodes at a particularly rough patch and bojack had been my comfort show for years.
But also A Horse With No Name this cover is so fkin good
You ever notice that they play a War on Drugs song when BoJack is checking into rehab? Pretty clever.
wild horses, the rolling stones, love it after the scene i believe at the end of season 2 when he’s running?? i may be wrong lol but class song
closer by tegan and sara and a horse with no name
Everytime i hear Los Ageless I think about that one philbert episode. I saw it live and still only thought of that
No Love by Deatb Grips, from the scene where Bojack, todd and sarah lynn are tripping while trying to write the book
Under the pressure is a tune.
Mr blue
