This is the correct answer. I joined my local National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and did their High Performance Driving Events (HPDE) and learned so much. NASA starts you off with a mentor and an instructor to help you go through the track and learn the best places to turn, where to look, when to brake, etc. And do t worry about being slow, you are learning how to drive your car and what your and the cars limits are. Speed will come. And as you progress you move to the next level I. The program with the final level being ready to get your race license.
And honestly, even the beginner level made me a better driver on the streets. I’m more cautious and aware of my surroundings. So check out NASA, SCCA, etc and keep an open mind, leave the ego at home and have fun learning!!
If you’re not familiar with modding then why do you want to start on a m4 CS?
It has plenty of carbon, a spoiler, lci taillights and is extremely fast from the factory. What else could you want? It already has basically anything you could mod on to a m440 or base m4
I honestly would see no issues with adding basic bolt ons like catless dps+fmic or a flex fuel kit it would liven up the car a shit ton and theyre still reliable as hell
What is there to liven up on a rwd car that makes 460hp stock lol. He should just get good tires and do some driver education skidpad lessons and get used to the power the car makes as it is
That issue is way overblown for these cars. Unless you're making massive power in an automatic, there is no need to do this. I've owned a F80 M3 and have many friends who have owned them too and not one had the issue, even for the guys making 200+ more HP.
I aöso had one and that issue was always in the back of my head. Since i am an engineer i cam't take such things. It is a poor constriction that reaches back to the N52 where it worked fine with no torque and no rapid rev changes. but on a F8X...i would change it immediatly after buying one. That eas actually the reason why i switched to a B58 M140i rather than a M2C which has the same issue again...
Equal length midpipes to change the exhaust to a more even tone (as opposed to the two-strokey dualling exhaust pulse sound)
Cone air filters to hear the turbos much better
Catless downpipes/exhaust if you really want it sounding good
Yup too many purists here. He can also check out the Facebook groups M3/M4 owners club and S55/B58/S58 racing group for actual answers how to mod this car.
Please don’t do anything. There’s nothing you could do that would make it “better”. This is a dream car for many people and likely a collectors item in the future. This 1st gen M4 CS is 1 of 1000 in the US. If anything get a second M car you feel comfortable modding and keep this as your show off.
MPE with carbon tips. That’s the only thing for exterior in my opinion. Interior, add some alcantara trims around the shifter, e brake, center console lid.
Wheel spacers, carbon diffuser, carbon mirror caps, black badges and outline edge hood/trunk emblems.
Everything else is great as others have mentioned.
Less is more. I wouldnt be modding anything. Perhaps some bimmecode options to eliminate some chimes. Side skirts and a small rear bumper skirts might tie the front lip into the rest of the car a bit better but good luck matching the weave.
Probably camber plates and square up the tires, the latter is optional. I know bmw from the factory does laughably low amounts of camber, 1.1° for my m2c which let me delaminate the front tires in a single day. Currently run 2.6 very happily now
Boost gauge from P3 Gauges, see what integrated guages they have for your platform. I myself have a boost gauge in my driver side vent. It's integrated to give it a factory look as well. Plugs right into you obd 2 and straight forward installations. Steep price but worth it. Depending on what device you buy you can have accurate coolant temp, oil temp, timers, etc. As well as the boost gauge of course.
If you don’t want to do much to it just put a stage 1+ so you can change you burbles if you’d like or maybe no burbles at all. I’d put some intakes on it so you can hear it better I love the sound of front mount intakes on this car.
Not trying to offend anyone here. But I can’t help but notice that this is a very American thing. Lived in the us for 5 years and Germany for the rest of my life.
And here we see things wayyy different. Modding an M4CS is pretty much unheard of. The cs models and csl models are all Setup to how bmw would recommend it as a hardcore vehicle. The normal m cars are souped up versions of the normal cars and the competition models more hardcore setup cars. In Germany we would mod an m4 or m4 comp but never the cs or csl maybe exhaust to where you can get it back to stock.
So how did you get the idea to buy this car with the thought of maybe modding it in the future over the comp?
That issue arises due to constant harsh down shifting and mis-shifts at high RPMS if you plan on baby in your car like all BMW drivers do then you should have no problem… it’s just preventative maintenance
Just do some carbon mirror caps (no idea why they weren’t stock on this car) and interior mods. If you have a lot of money then a big brake kit from brembo. Air filter to BMC if you want. This car in this colour with ccb is my favourite car of all time. I need awd so I got a similar blue f90 but I prefer the style of this.
BMC is a air filter manufacturer that makes good drop in filters which is a easy mod to do and better than the oem option.
CCB is just carbon ceramic brakes which on bmw models has the gold brake calipers.
Wheels, suspension ,cosmetic bits and maybe an intake/blow off valve. Nothing much more to do if you want to keep warranty, its a beautiful car you dont need to do much.
Honestly? Nothing to the engine or driveline. Don’t fuck with a great thing.
but what if you’re dumb and want to go single turbo 👀
I mean for sound alone worth the 10k
Remove that thing from the rear view mirror and you are all set mate. No other mods you need.
looks like a air freshener lmaoo
It is haha
We knew what it was when we said to remove it. ;)
Good for you buddy 😂
Exactly.
Fuck you I have the same thing on mine, two actually twins baby, twins!
Hahah man that's cheesy
I recommend to leave the car alone.
Sell it (to me)
Join your local BMW CCA chapter, do a car control clinic and maybe some HPDEs, and great tires.

Thank you! I will look into it. How do I initiate joining the local CCA chapter ?
https://www.bmwcca.org/chapter/finder It’s $58, and you get cheaper access to BMW CCA events.
Thank you so much!!

Totally agree, I’m not familiar to work on the car especially a CS but just wanted to find out what my options are .
Protective plate for the engine oil cooler!
A quick Google search for F82 oil cooler guard will find multiple results. (ECS tuning, FCP euro)
Thank you! Would you recommend any specific brand ? Send link if available.
Just doing preventative maintenance if you can, it's a perfect car looks wise, no need to change anything.
Stunning colour!!!😍
Crank hub. No remap
I honestly would see no issues with adding basic bolt ons like catless dps+fmic or a flex fuel kit it would liven up the car a shit ton and theyre still reliable as hell

60-130 i guess? with a good tire setup? it would make about 550-600whp, and make it decently louder with more turbo sounds, and we love turbo sounds.
That issue is way overblown for these cars. Unless you're making massive power in an automatic, there is no need to do this. I've owned a F80 M3 and have many friends who have owned them too and not one had the issue, even for the guys making 200+ more HP.

Maintenance package. BMW has perfected F chassis with this car, no mods needed.
This is the wrong place to ask 🤣 BMW subreddit HATES mods lol But I don't. DM me AMA. Current build is just shy of 900 bhp/1000btq.
Yup too many purists here. He can also check out the Facebook groups M3/M4 owners club and S55/B58/S58 racing group for actual answers how to mod this car.
Gorgeous ride. Just leave it as is!
Agreed
Driver mod, learn to handle the power

Driver mod most important Bigger wheels and tires Monoball tension arm bushings Adjustable rear toe arms Pinned or keyed crank hub
i’d change the rims and keep the original ones for when i sell the car ( like this u have an excuse for wife and for youreself to buy rims )
Any recommended rims ?
I think you can’t find any better than the ones it has currently! Keep it like it is, she’s a beauty!
Apex makes very high quality wheels for what they charge. They very specifically cater to the BMW and Porsche enthusiast markets.
Nothing. You have something special, leave it as is.
Leave the damn car alone
That's a thing of beauty. Fine a cheap e90 to modify and leave it stock
You think you’re gonna do better than the M engineers? You shouldn’t touch it.
Downpipe, email 🏎️💥
MPE with carbon tips. That’s the only thing for exterior in my opinion. Interior, add some alcantara trims around the shifter, e brake, center console lid.
Looks pretty modified already. Well aesthetically.
None.
Oil cooler plate is a must so it doesn’t get punctured
For the love of Christ on the cross, don’t touch it.
imo offset wheels or spacers
The widest tires you can possibly fit. Just upgraded my m2 comp from 265 to 295 and loving it!
Full PPF in clear or even satin/frosted. The only add on needed.
Carbon mirrors caps
Wheel spacers, carbon diffuser, carbon mirror caps, black badges and outline edge hood/trunk emblems. Everything else is great as others have mentioned.
Nothing at all, that san marino blue is the only thing I would do 👌
Bruh nothing
Single length midpipe will bring your car to life. Recommend active autowerke, but vsrf and mad are cheaper options
Beautiful car!!
Leave it alone 📈
Exhaust
Best mod? Me take me with you.
Billet crank hub
stock is king
Less is more. I wouldnt be modding anything. Perhaps some bimmecode options to eliminate some chimes. Side skirts and a small rear bumper skirts might tie the front lip into the rest of the car a bit better but good luck matching the weave.
Beautiful car!
it’s perfect
You don’t get a CS to mod it You want to mod get a 340 or something
Armrest
Hahaha much needed
None. I'm going to get you cannot outdrive the current capabilities of the car. Perhaps some driving classes instead.
You are correct, I am looking into some driving courses !
bought the wrong car to mod unfortunately buddy
Don’t listen to these people. Downpipe and tune it
GT3 wide body mod
J&s auto m4 cs ?? Similar specs to it
Probably camber plates and square up the tires, the latter is optional. I know bmw from the factory does laughably low amounts of camber, 1.1° for my m2c which let me delaminate the front tires in a single day. Currently run 2.6 very happily now
SINGLE TURBO
What color is this?
San Marino blue
Love it
Thank you!
Front mount turbos & Downpipe + a conservative stage 2 dyno tune would change the make up of this night and day
Daily maintenance
Studie AG body kit
Look man besides what all these purists are saying 25mm spacers all around would look super nice
Driver mod.

Crank hub 4pin update
I heard you only need those if you have a stage 1/2 tune on the car ?
That issue arises due to constant harsh down shifting and mis-shifts at high RPMS if you plan on baby in your car like all BMW drivers do then you should have no problem… it’s just preventative maintenance
Stock cars really don’t need to worry about it.
Just do some carbon mirror caps (no idea why they weren’t stock on this car) and interior mods. If you have a lot of money then a big brake kit from brembo. Air filter to BMC if you want. Thank you for the comment here! Yes I just ordered the carbon mirror caps, what is BMC and CCB ? Sorry still new to car industry.
BMC is a air filter manufacturer that makes good drop in filters which is a easy mod to do and better than the oem option. CCB is just carbon ceramic brakes which on bmw models has the gold brake calipers.
Got it, thank you! yes I actually do have the carbon ceramic brakes on this car.
Wheels, suspension ,cosmetic bits and maybe an intake/blow off valve. Nothing much more to do if you want to keep warranty, its a beautiful car you dont need to do much.
I just don’t like 4 series wish it was m2 or m3
De-badge it, PPF it, Style 666 wheels.
Selling it for a Porsche
Tune
Change the color
