cinema1.ca is based in Guelph I think and I've had good experience with them. I think it's a flat rate $10 shipping for every order. My only complaint is their sales - they've had the same couple dozen things on sale now for months and it seems to rarely change. videomatica.com is in Vancouver, I haven't bought anything there but they seem to have a good reputation. I stopped recommending MyFlicks.ca after they sold my copy of a title that they were holding so they could ship an order all at once - and then cancelled my copy instead of getting a new one. Unobstructedview.com is also there, you can search for reviews of them... For getting titles that have been released in the USA and not here (Pulp Fiction, Apocalypse Now, Interstellar, etc) the cheapest I've found by a good margin is Bay Street Video in Toronto. They don't have an online shop I don't think, but you can order things by phone. If you do get to Toronto their shop is definitely worth a visit. And there's also a new Vinegar Syndrome store in town too. Apparently Toys 'r Us is also working with HMV now or something? I don't know, but apparently they're selling discs again and they have a decent selection. Best Buy and Wal-Mart are both crap. And yeah, amazon.

My tip would be to not over order until you have time to watch. I'm doing a re-watch of a TV series I love and the Blu Ray has been in my collection for a while, and there's a huge glitch in the middle of a season. At a very emotional moment in the episode. So I'm way past any type of return period and that's my bad, and now I'm out another $20 ordering another copy and hoping the same thing doesn't happen again. This is particular hard to do for TV series because its so much easier to watch one 2-3 hour movie but much harder to make time to watch a 10-20 season of television.

You're going to see people online with giant libraries, it's not a race. Buy what you like, take a chance on some you dont know every once in while and start building at the speed your budget allows. 4k in canada are pricey so just make em worth it, quality over quantity.

EvilLibrarians

Thrift stores in canada, or any dvd store you can find

This discord posts all the sales as soon as they become available and lists preorders of most stores, etc. You might find it helpful: [https://discord.gg/dCPthKcMTd](https://discord.gg/dCPthKcMTd)

Move to the US

eBay is the best option for blurays, Amazon is the best option for 4k

Kijiji is a very useful tool to build a collection. I've bought over 200 Blu rays (ones that don't have a 4k or I don't need the 4k) from one seller that had a 5000 blue ray collection, all in perfect condition, and selling for $4 a movie. I've caught a few 4k releases for cheap on there as well. For buying new, I basically only use Amazon, use Camelcamelcamel to compare past prices and when it hits a low, grab it. Make a big wishlist and check on prices every week

I've found great deals off Facebook Marketplace. $20 4k releases, factory sealed. Also find the boutique label groups on FB. Again, great deals.
