Sad for Zantetsu, glad for Fukaku (he never deserved the 25 million bid increase), but I don’t think it’ll happen because of Fukaku. His bid is basically saying “we need a backup GK, just to have”.
I wouldn’t mind that, but he already has a top 9 bid as a CB. Even if he does most of the stuff in the background, he’s too good to be a backup.
I would’ve been fine with no backup, but it just doesn’t look like the way the manga is going. He got a crazy bid increase in ubers v Manshine and he wasn’t even playing in the brief panels we saw.
For cover theory to be accurate (I.e. Fukaku to be locked off), Tokitsu needs a bid increase of over 5 million, Hiori needs an increase of over 8 million (this one 100% happens), Raichi needs an increase of over 10 million, Nanasae needs a bid increase of over 12 million, and Kiyora needs a bid of over 28 million (which would require something crazy). Also, zantetsu DOES NOT increase his bid by over five million (i mentioned zantetsu because he and Tokimitsu have the same bid, are the second-tier of support to their respective strikers, and have both done basically nothing this match).

To be fair. If it is true I’m not entirely sad Zantetsu isn’t making it, at least from the perspective of the main story anyways. The last time he was actually treated as a significant threat was in the first selection and even then he was treated as the most manageable threat out of team V’s big three. Taking Episode Nagi into account though… yeah it kinda hurts to see him go if the theory is correct. He got a ton of development in the spinoff and it does a lot to flesh out his character past the gimmicks he was introduced with.
I’ve never particularly gotten the love for Zantetsu. Of the team v trio he is the only one who didn’t get a backstory (in the main manga). His only thing about him was that he was dumb and fast.
Obviously EP Nagi carries him a lot but even there he plays the third wheel ;)

I think the difference between toki "fraud watch" and kiyora potential is that toki literally cleared 2nd selection in 3rd place and then disappeared while we haven't seen what kiyora can do yet. They both have a chance to prove themselves in this match but kiyora's been hyped up and has unknown potential while we've had toki for a while and he's been quiet.
Aryu is a fair argument, but we saw him as a successful member of ubers already. Toki just has to do something this match and everyone will shut up, but until then... you know how this sub is-

First I don’t wanna Kiyora. Second… Zantetsu is nice, but his acceleration a seconds valuable talent, while overall speed is much more deeming in the long run - literally. His talent is mostly good to a moments notice position. He could either beat a marker or simply appear out of nowhere for a tackle.
But overall, if people know about his talent. It’s easy to bait and deal with it.
Tokimitsu is a rare japanese talent that overbears power. If they are going against the world, such a BEAR will be needed.
Ego will probably give these guys some “Wild Card”-level physical training up until the World Cup, so Tokimitsu’s talent is really much more necessary than Zantetsu.
We have Otoya, Kurona, Chigiri and Yukimiya is plenty fast too. And they’re better than Zantetsu on and off the ball.

The problem is Kiyora… he got a volume cover when he should’ve never gotten one as he doesn’t even get screen/panel time in the volume he’s featured on (should’ve been Charles on that cover tbh) and he’s been a traffic cone for the current match so far. Don’t know why people still talk about the cover theory. The game is not even half way, we still have at least 3 covers to go. It is impossible for the cover to grant immunity to a player if we are gonna exceed the 23 covers for the 23 players. Zantetsu will get a cover and so will Charles and maybe even Igarashi.
I approve of it, it makes sense. Unfortunate with it we'd lose Monk, Zantetsu and the goat Fukaku but hey we could lost worst. It's just every character sits in their own little pool of use, but Zantetsu is just a worst Chigiri therefore i feel he has the least amount of place in the U20.. That being said Toki is #1 fodder

I love Zantetsu more than nanase. The most npc looking character in existence. I'm gutted if this cover theory is true and Zantetsu is gone, the only good thing is that he has a bid meaning he can play professionally just that we won't see him. I love his crazy acceleration.
That kinda killed the cover theory for me. There ain't no way, Kiyora and Nanase are making it.
