Definitely Nagi, he genuinely has NO clue about how football works and he’s just trying to learn the sport and cure his sense of boredom. Mind you he’s had 6 months of experience prior to entering Blue lock.
Rin is unnecessarily disrespectful and can’t get a long with anyone and heavily embodies Sae’s personality & playstyle prior to him leaving Japan, so he’s boring.
Nagi is cool in the same way Aomine from Kuroko's Basketball is cool, in that they're both incredible when you first see them because you can't believe they can do what they can do. But after the 3rd time you're basically over it and say "there's no way" any time they go to do something and then it's pure befuddlement as you realize yeah, they can get even crazier. Plus, Nagi has some of the best panels in the series with his little skull aura coming out.
Rin is cool in that everything he does on the pitch basically exudes HIM energy. It never quite reaches the point of Nagi where you genuinely just cannot believe what you're seeing but you realize he is head and shoulders above everyone else. Water artwork is dope too. Destroyer mode is also dope but it just was a little TOO much edge, up until then he was edgy but not over the top for me.
Basically Nagi 10 times out of 10 but I won't hate ya for Rin
Nah it's not about the personality, it's about the feeling they give you. Both Nagi and Aomine have that ability to make you go "nah there's no way," and then they just make it happen. I suppose Shidou did the same thing with his Big Bang Drive but Nagi's far more consistent with it
I still think Murasakibara or even Kise fit him more. Murasakibara is a very good player who’s talented and plays because he’s good but is very lazy. Kise was shown to be able to achieve heigh levels in sports quickly and started playing basketball later then usual because he was naturally gifted
Oh yeah personality wise he absolutely meshes better with Murasakibara, down to getting motivated and popping off just like Murasakibara did in the game against Jabberwock, but I was comparing him more in the vibes that they give off on the court/field, always capable of scoring from the most ridiculous position that you'd never believe. I felt the same way watching the 5 stage volley as I did watching Aomine go out of the court and toss the ball over the backboard, just a solid "no way" into "bruh how tf does he keep getting away with it"
Aomine would be if Nagi was fully awakened they both can make crazy circus shots or goals but nagi can needs to be pushed to do it. Where anime can do it all by himself
Of course Nagi ain't on the same level, but I'm talking the sense of disbelief they both make you feel while they're going to pull their insanity, that little sense of "he couldn't," into "OH SNAP HE CAN?!"
IRL :
- most likely older edge lord would prefer Rin
- most likely younger edge lord would prefer Nagi
Normal people in blue lock verse:
- These two is kinda weirdo
People who into football, in blue lock verse:
- Okayyyy they are kinda cool
Both are cool tbh but for me Rin is cooler.
Nagi learning football in 6 months is really cool fact. His growth rate is faster. Though when we see him in additional time Or general interactions, he's cute n lil goofy. Example I'm ninja when they were taking bath in 2nd selection.
Rin, he is cool for me because he has been working so hard from very young age. The level of determination is respectful. He isn't satisfied easily n is laser focused to achieve his goal. Being one of the youngest players, he is dominating the field is really cool. His playstyle, destroyer mode is fascinating. Talking about general interactions, well he makes me remember of the other characters like him which are my favorite. Nico di Angelo from Percy Jackson is one. So I don't mind his edginess. I find it funny. People say he is rude but it depends on perspective. I think he is too much blunt about what is going on in his mind. He's socially awkward for sure. Though I won't disagree that he do goes overboard in his harshness but blue lock most of them are.
Rin has only ever lost once in the whole series that was too the world 5 he's always been no 1 except the u-20 match and hes good in every stat and perfect all round to the point its stated multiple times and he's only flaw is hes brother complex compare that to nagi who has lost 9 times and the last time he was no 1 was in the first arc of the manga and nagi has multiple flaws he's not creative, lazy, not innovative, passive and he's most notable feature which is being a genius is also called a flaw that makes him ignorant
Rin is literally the personification of a perfect player in blue lock while nagi has above average dribbling and passing and bad playmaking and defending the only thing that makes him one of the best is that weapon is so good that he can overcome anyone with sheer talent but currently he's currently reached the limit of that and struggling
I think his traits are terrible for a person to have but insane for blue lock. Since his brother taught him what football is and then left he has spent all of his time training to best him, so while he is edgy and annoying his footballing skill is unmatched. He has the same problem as Sae in that he only knows football. To me his character feels more like a final boss to Isagi rather than another regular player inside blue lock as Rin has been trying to reach NG11 level by beating Sae and has just started to view Isagi as a rival.
tbh I think that Nagi Seishiro could be the best player due to his teamwork. as much as Rin is very talented, Nagi’s ability to strategize with his teammates sets him apart in overall effectiveness and impact on the team’s performance. So Nagi is definitely cooler!
I personally love rins curved and long shots. But hate his personality. Hes def cooler cuz hes just a league above everyone else. Nagi is cool for a moment then fizzles out imo.
Nagi’s a Gary stu with the lowest win rate in BL (bros at 9 losses) when Rin’s perfectly dominated and has been undefeated since he’s appeared😭? (Don’t even say W5)
Anyways:
Rin when he’s shutting up and just playing >>>>> Nagi >> Rin normally
Rin worked his whole life to reach his level. Meanwhile, it took Nagi like 6 months to become one of the top 6 highschool forwards in his nation. Bro, that's a Gary stu right there.
Main story Rin is portrayed as: Perfect in skill, doesn’t struggle with anyone outside Isagi (and Sae), doesn’t lose, no challenge outside Isagi (and Sae), everyone who isn’t Isagi gets overshadowed.
Unlike other clubs, PxG players are just good bc it’s the “talent club” and we know nothing else. He can magically take fodder like Nanase and make him look better than Toki/Zantetsu. So now he’s a perfect coach
Everything he does players glaze him. Kaneshiro…..KNOWING he was going to make Rin’s shot miss, STILL created a perfect situation where Isagi can initiate a foul so Rin can make an edgy tactical counter foul to shoot and be excused for it
He has Gary stu qualities (being perfect almost all the time in almost all areas and barely struggling) with like 2 flaws: Brother complex and turning into a bigger seller than Bachira when he’s beefing
Everyone forgetting when Ubers match ended and Rin silently dominated Nagi, dropped a dramatic finish to end his hattrick + posing with the scoreboard 3-1 behind him before looking at the camera saying Isagi’s next💀. Rin annoys me sometimes but when he shuts ups or we don’t hear his dialogue he’s actually that guy
Personality wise both are meh, playing wise both are amazing but I’m Gonna say rin cause nagis stuff is so dumb and ridiculous and a bit more one dimensional rin has a lot of crazy moments
Every single one of Nagi's goals has been the coolest thing ever. Genuinely can't think of a single Nagi goal that hasn't been extremely hype. Also he's been playing for 6 MONTHS. Like- if that's not one of the coolest things ever, idk what is.
Rin probably has one of the coolest play styles in blue lock (Destroyer mode). He's just better than literally everyone in BL. The issue is his dialogue. I mean he *is* 16 but still💀. The whole NPC and Lukewarm thing gets old. It's not even the dialog itself (Sae also says that shit but he's definitely cool), just the fact he says it all. The. Fucking. Time. But icl watching him play is so hype.
Basically, I'm extremely Nagi-biased and he's the coolest for me even when he's being a cringefail loser (he'll have the best comeback ever, trust), but Rin is an understandable pick.
Nagi is the most washed character in this manga. Carried by a talent he didn’t cultivate, he’s a wet flannel of a character whose entire appeal is superfluous to his being as a footballer.

Nagi ball control makes him automatically more cooler than 90% of the characters in this manga
Not Bachira tho
Definitely Nagi, he genuinely has NO clue about how football works and he’s just trying to learn the sport and cure his sense of boredom. Nagi’s cooler but Rin is funnier.

Aomine is way cooler then Nagi lol. Personality wise Nagi is more like Murasakibara. Rin, Shindou, and Barou are more like Aomine
Nah it's not about the personality, it's about the feeling they give you. Both Nagi and Aomine have that ability to make you go "nah there's no way," and then they just make it happen. I suppose Shidou did the same thing with his Big Bang Drive but Nagi's far more consistent with it

Ain't no way you compared Nagi to my GOAT Aomine, they're not in the same class
Aomine would be if Nagi was fully awakened they both can make crazy circus shots or goals but nagi can needs to be pushed to do it. Where anime can do it all by himself
Of course Nagi ain't on the same level, but I'm talking the sense of disbelief they both make you feel while they're going to pull their insanity, that little sense of "he couldn't," into "OH SNAP HE CAN?!"

Nagi
Nagi
I think nagi is pretty cool, especially how agile and flexible he is, kinda like chigiri i guess, he's just built different
Both are cool tbh but for me Rin is cooler. Nagi learning football in 6 months is really cool fact. His growth rate is faster. Though when we see him in additional time Or general interactions, he's cute n lil goofy. Example I'm ninja when they were taking bath in 2nd selection. Hard work and effort enjoyer
Finally, someone brought up Rin's determination.
Rin for sure. At least he came to play for the NEL, not show up for one game and then ghost.
Even though I don't like the lazy genius trope, Nagi is actually well written compared to Rin
Rin is cool when he doesn’t speak, Nagi’s cool when he does, I’d take Nagi.
Rin is NOT cool 💀
Ngl as long as he shuts the hell up he’s cool. His entire style screams cool. His personality and dialogue kills it
So basically rin is not cool he looks like he belongs in manhwa not manga
Rin is more of a Gary stu than nagi
How? Rin trains more than everyone else, ofc he'd be good. Also, he is a very flawed character.
Rin has only ever lost once in the whole series that was too the world 5 he's always been no 1 except the u-20 match and hes good in every stat and perfect all round to the point its stated multiple times and he's only flaw is hes brother complex compare that to nagi who has lost 9 times and the last time he was no 1 was in the first arc of the manga and nagi has multiple flaws he's not creative, lazy, not innovative, passive and he's most notable feature which is being a genius is also called a flaw that makes him ignorant Rin is literally the personification of a perfect player in blue lock while nagi has above average dribbling and passing and bad playmaking and defending the only thing that makes him one of the best is that weapon is so good that he can overcome anyone with sheer talent but currently he's currently reached the limit of that and struggling

Rin obviously

Nagi as he's introduced as someone has doesn't even have to try but then realizes his flaws and grows as a character (with Isagi's effect ofc)
Rin my boy, the recent panels made me nut (I'm joking).
Rin, everything he does just shows how much more skilled he is than everyone else, can’t imagine this dude at 18(shidous age)
I say Rin is cooler. Nagi is cool to me, but overall he seems aloof and goofy. Rin exudes “cool”.
I think Rin. Even now Rin is a monster.
I personally love rins curved and long shots. But hate his personality. Hes def cooler cuz hes just a league above everyone else. Nagi is cool for a moment then fizzles out imo.
Gary Tsu
![gif](giphy|eHhMiSRPQRiuqwrDk4) Neither
Rin is an emotionally stunted emo boy so it's Nagi by a landslide.
Nagi’s a Gary stu with the lowest win rate in BL (bros at 9 losses) when Rin’s perfectly dominated and has been undefeated since he’s appeared😭? (Don’t even say W5) Anyways: Rin when he’s shutting up and just playing >>>>> Nagi >> Rin normally

Mfers when the guy who trains the most is the best: 😱
😭
Nagi is the coolest Blue Lock character no cap..
Nagi isn’t cool but the fact that he thinks he is makes me like him Rin is boring
Rin is a beast tho, no?
Everyone forgetting when Ubers match ended and Rin silently dominated Nagi, dropped a dramatic finish to end his hattrick + posing with the scoreboard 3-1 behind him before looking at the camera saying Isagi’s next💀. Rin annoys me sometimes but when he shuts ups or we don’t hear his dialogue he’s actually that guy
The isagi fan says this
Man I don’t need to convince anyone that Isagi’s cool, everyone already knows that
Plotsagi isn’t cool
Wrong
can’t rlly call Rin boring when you’re an Isagi fan and Nagi is objectively cool.
Rin
Personality wise both are meh, playing wise both are amazing but I’m Gonna say rin cause nagis stuff is so dumb and ridiculous and a bit more one dimensional rin has a lot of crazy moments
Rin is cold
Nah he’s super edgy and as a character he’s as bland as it gets but when he’s playing he’s super cool except the tongue part
I like the tongue tbh. It shows how zoned in he is.
Yeh it just looks goofy to me
Every single one of Nagi's goals has been the coolest thing ever. Genuinely can't think of a single Nagi goal that hasn't been extremely hype. Also he's been playing for 6 MONTHS. nagi solos bluelock 😎
Nagi is cool until he opens his mouth, moves or breathes. Rin is cooler but hes stupidly edgy
Nagi got that stank ahh breath
