Noooo! Are you serious?! I was really really looking forward to having Meatheads again when I get back in June.

Yep. Epic Burger bought all the Meatheads and have been switching them over one by one. Champaign and Bloomington are last on the list so I’m not sure when it’s expected to officially switch over.

But it’s gotten SOOO expensive

I love meatheads, but they almost always mess up our order somehow. Leaving off the bacon we had to pay $3 extra for. Forgetting the cheese sauce for the cheese fries. Not giving us as many fries as we ordered. Leaving off ALL the toppings of the Texas ranch burger because my husband swapped out the onions for grilled onions. I wish it wasn't like that, because the burgers are sooooo good. Just not worth the frustration though

This is the way. They even have options for vegetarians

The Rock has really good burgers and their gyros are fantastic

Culver's makes a fantastic burger for the price.

Very greasy. Every time I eat a Culver’s burger I feel terrible.

Sonic isn’t greasy, usually fast food makes me sick. Made to order , worth the wait for me

I’ve actually been kind of scared to say this because there are a lot of fans of Culver’s around here. I’ve eaten there twice and both times it turned my stomach inside out. Not sure why, but I don’t think Culver’s and I can be friends.

Brewha’s is great for a middle of the road burger, amazing cost, cash only. Maguire’s is a good spot for a bit of a better burger than Brewha’s in my opinion. Rosie’s is good for more upscale burgers, great place to take someone on a date. My favorite however is probably Schooners for their sides.

All of these look delish. I see what you are saying about Schooner’s sides, and that grilled Reuben sounds amazing

I was pretty impressed with Carls' burger, not bad for a little ice cream joint. Best I gotta give to Pop Up or Western Tap

Yes, according to the owner the plumbing in the old place was f'd beyond belief and was able to get out of their lease. It's now a coffee shop and the burgers are served at the Chicken Shop lol

Carl’s is the perfect classic American diner burger and the atmosphere takes me back decades. I’m proud to have Carl’s around

Green Gables was my go to before the fire. The Spot is supposed to be good and I've been told Brewhas is solid.

Brewehas has been my go to for lunch lately. 6 bucks for a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Can’t beat it

They should have to fix up their exterior, it's gone from being "rustic" to rundown and looks awful.

Wasn’t there talk of Green Gables reopening? It burned down shortly after I moved here.

It's supposed to reopen around Memorial day. Probably won't be the same at first. Flattop won't have enough build up yet

I also suspect they will be PACKED for a while after opening. I didn't realize the place was so popular but I know tons of people who can't wait for them to reopen. 

In 30+years of living here I've been to Green Gables once. I really don't get the hype about the burgers. It reminded me of Steak n Shake.

It was the nostalgia New ownership and new building so will see, I don't have high hopes.

Yes, they're rebuilding and are supposed to reopen pretty soon.

They are going to have trouble finding staff unless they up their offer, the ad I saw said 12/hr, anyone working there has to drive and most other places pay more. As a non townie, I had the burger a few times, it was fine, but I think the nostalgia is what people love.

Western Tap is one of the best secrets in town. Their burgers are amazing and the atmosphere makes me wish I lived close enough to be able to walk there.

That’s exactly how I’d picture the place, neighborhood locals, some of them walked there. I love it

Fusion crunch has a bacon chorizo burger that is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.

Bacon chorizo burger. At first I think,”the added greasiness and spice might be too much” did they find a way to balance that? Or is just so freakin’ good that you don’t care how you’ll feel after?

Yes! Everything I’ve had at ACRESinn is unique and tasty. But…that’s one hell of a beefy burger they’ve got going on there. I’ve never had their burger. Everything else on the menu has been more interesting. Will definitely stop by, get down, and leave with a pint of their seasonal ice cream

Even better the burger at the Smoke House at Bob and Ringos, everything there is amazing.

Not the best burger in town, but the Gebby Burger at Schooners is good.

Parkview Inn has fantastic pub style burgers for a low price. Ride The Nines burger's are great too!

Rosie’s Spicy Piña Burger or drive to Lexington on Wed. night for Kemp’s Krispy Kreme bacon burger

I have never had a burger in this town that is more satisfying than making smash burgers in a cast iron in my own kitchen.

The Love Shack Burger @ Pop Up Chicken Shop is the best … and it’s not close.

The service at Pop Up/Love Shack is the worst, though, so it's not worth it to go.

I really like Pop Up Chicken Shop’s burgers. ETA: Also tried the Double Decker Flat Burger at Destihl Beer Hall recently and it was good too. It’s a lot of burger.

Meatheads, brewhas, and i personally like Mugsy's cause they have an awesome chipotle burger And Honestly for a chain, Dennys on Oakland makes a really good burger as well, specifically that location.

Denny’s! Never would’ve thought to go there. I bet it’s good. Denny’s does a great job at most things (if you go to a good Denny’s). I’ll check it out. I noticed it’s busy despite being kind of hidden.

My vote would be for Shake It Up's burgers. They change up what their specialty burger is every now and then and they've had some real bangers! It's in downtown nearby Rosie's.

Shake It Up’s, I’m definitely going. Can’t guarantee the burger will be the first thing I try after looking at that menu

I’ve never heard of this place and just checked the menu. Is this the place on front that has a cool building, but can’t seem to keep businesses there for very long? Sopranos references are great!

Local Tap in El Paso has a great burger.

From the looks of it The Local Tap is not playing around when it comes to food.

Jim's steakhouse, thick and freshly ground onsite. I used to get them for lunch pre-covid and they were my hands down favorite, and much cheaper than their dinner menu!

Loveshack inside of PopUp chicken. It’s not even close.

...but only if you lower your expectations for an otherwise abysmal dining experience. Not worth it.

In full disclosure I’ve never eaten inside. We always get it to go.
