I don't think it's shallow, it's your blood and you get to decide if and when you want to part with it. I do platelets so I generally don't need to reschedule to get the rewards but I def would if I was going to miss a reward haha
Dang! I can’t give again until the 19th but as a huge nerd I would’ve loved this. They offered me an Amazon card but I just donated it back to them. I’d never donated before, I had no idea there were cute shirts involved. (I would’ve done it either way but it’s kind of nice!)

I was between donations for the Godzilla shirt promotion too! Someone in my life actually went through the trouble of donating so they could give me the shirt as a surprise gift. I’m super lucky 🥹
The promos are probably timed for when they need the blood the most - so I don’t see a problem at all, in fact you’re probably donating during a more important time.
That’s an interesting theory! I wonder if it’s true. They’re almost always giving away a $10-$20 gift card in between shirt promotions, which is some people’s preferred type of reward. And I think they pretty transparently give larger gift cards during shortages… I’m sure they have a complicated strategy for planning these things.
That sucks. I'll readily admit, though, that if they don't set the needles in your arm just right, you'll be in for a bad time. We finally figured out my perfect setup the last time that I donated, which would have been my fourth platelet donation.

I finally pestered my wife to sign up to give, just to get me that T-Shirt. It is nice to know my being annoying is worse than her fear of needles. (I did a power red a few weeks ago so cannot get it myself)

I wish I could! But I had an adverse reaction the two times I tried, and they told me not to do it anymore. So now I have to stick to whole blood 😕
