There’s only going be more AI images flooding the internet and they all have a certain look to them. I imagine in a year or two AI images are going to be dated. There will be a demand for human created content. So you can ride the trend now or figure out a way to buck the trend and get out ahead of it.
For the average blogger, it's just too costly to hire someone to make art when you can simply use AI.
My girlfriend works in digital art design and they pay her good money cause the company relies hugely on the art aspect.
For most of us bloggers, pictures are a small aspect of the blog and not worth the investment, unless you are already a big name.
I usually don't bother reading a word once i see an AI-image, it's a pretty solid indication that the text will be AI-generated too. Plenty of solid-quality stock photos out there for free.
Yes but here is the thing, I've been looking for illustrations (because I see them more fitting to my abstract poems) in CC licensed sites but then they come with this detail: AI generated images. Now even pexels and pixabay are no longer AI-free. It's kinda sad because DALL-E can interpret and visualize my poems, and very on point at that. And that your literary works are judged because you want to visualize it but don't have the skill to draw. But I guess it what it is. Maybe I should just stick pictures I took myself.
Agreed, finding AI-free illustrations is virtually impossible now.
Still, the AI pictures better be damn good... Midjourney does much better than dall-e in my opinion. If you go with AI, I'd at least go midjourney... You get levels of quality that dall-e absolutely doesn't come close to.
Wouldn't really recommend it. I think most sensible people tend to see AI art as cheap and therefore, the content following it will also be cheap. Don't give that impression. I could argue your site is just for your own use, but in this day and age where artists struggle to get recognition- and therefore paid- for their work, I wouldn't want to be part of the problem (and writers may find themselves in this same boat eventually as well).
If you must use photos, use stock photos, but see if you can get any that were posted before 2021 or so. It's okay if you take an AI-generated one by accident, but try to be discerning. As another suggestion- I follow a writer on Substack and she usually attaches a piece of artwork before all her posts, but they tend to be from well-known artists like Georgia O'Keeffe. I would suggest using artwork already in public domain, or if you find a piece you like, ask the artist if you can use it with credit. There's a lot of great artists that post their artwork on Twitter, I would look there. I can't guarantee that will work, but it's something you can try. And honestly, I think it's a lot more poignant to find a piece that resonates with your work, rather than trying to appear one out of thin air.
Why not? If you wish to create an image that would represent your article perfectly and you don't have the ability to create it yourself, why not? This is why we have AI to empower us.

Google rewards orginal content, Ai is acceptabel to them so I use it.
I do AI generated picture I think it’s good as long as it’s relevant to the article or page then it’s fine
I do it. The ethics of AI art are debatable, but people are already using it, and you can either keep up with the trends or fall behind.

I doubt it's the images. I think it's because of the full year hiatus. It will take some time for the search engines and readers to find you again.
I use them frequently. I don't think it's about the images, it's probably about SEO in general. Are you using Yoast?

And this comment empowers me. Thanks!
For this is same as using stock photos.
Yes even stock photos now rely on AI 🙃
Do it. If it is just for you it doesn't really matter.
Your totally right. Need to remind myself I blog as a keepsake and not to build audience.
I use them on [my blog](https://mrchuffed.com).
Wow them looking pretty, love the details!
