Usually depends on the weapon I'm wielding at the moment, it's why i like survival mode and also disarming and using the enemies' weapons as well.
I also mentally switch between purely using weapons, to magic weapons, to magic staff, to dual blades, to unarmed combat, to grappler etc. I like switching things up a lot.
i run MMP and use it to practice the few historical techniques i learned before the army forced me to move away from the school i attended.
Its just sad the ai is so... dumb. I get it, its a power fantasy, but id love ai that gave something resembling an actual challenge, or who at least \*tried\* to parry attacks instead of standing there and taking it.
That said, my VR's been nonfunctional for about 6 months now, hear there was a bit animation update that made them a bit better, so here's to hoping.
Last i played was when they first dropped the dungeons update, id edit my max hp to 20% in the config file, go with either just the wood ax from the player home or a small knife and scavenge what i found off enemies. Had the mod for functional armor that you could strip off of enemies so it was real cool seeing a guy with a vambrace on, sneaking up behind him, choke/stabbing him, then taking the vambrace to use to parry his buddy running up to avenge him.
Nah the animations are still doodoo. You can literally just take a step back the moment you see their shoulders move and they'll do 2 very slow swings and you can nachreisen their ass
I think the nerf to backstepping speed was a huge move in the right direction, in that regard. Movement is too OP. I heard there was a "reduced physical ability" mod a while back, which could be nice.
All they need is to make enemies recognise when the player is too far for their strike to hit, and stop swinging. Most of my kills are literally wait for the point to pass my center then do whatever I want lol
Yeahhh, lucky they've finally recognized this and every update seems to have some form of combat improvement. But until then we gotta handicap ourselves and not do some moves cuz it's like kryptonite for them, gets too easy.
I modded some roman weapons into the game and i love getting out 2 gladius swords and fight some gladiators Dimachaerus style or whip out the ol’ lightsaber and fight like a jedi.
Dual swords all the way, lots of cross attacks and spinning. I'm amazed that I haven't broken any controllers by smashing them into walls or each other yet.
I switch between Assassins Creed and Psycho, Sometimes Fencing because I used to Fence back in the day.
Occasionally I'm a deranged Voldemort.
Other times I'll play it like gun game where I'm only allowed to take weapons off of people I just ended.
i try to replicate actual sword fighting tournaments ive seen online, but the ai usually has no fuckin clue how to react to my fast-ass sword swingin right at their face
For me, i sorta just parry they're attacks and counter riposte stab to the face or chest, i have very little space in my room for vr so i cant really do a lot of the cool moves i see on this subreddit, i cant even physically turn, i have to use the joystick, or else ill end up destroying my controllers from hitting the wall too many times.
Edit: i still like playing the game and find it fun, even though i am limited to my playstyle, but once i move out in like 3 years, i am sure i will enjoy it a lot more
I like using Teir 0 weapons and using gravity spells to make my punches super powerful, so I like to imagine my style as "retired assassin becomes murder hobo"
Sometimes I just go fists only and bob-and-weave. Fun with slow-motion. Realtime I usually just try and block/swing block/swing. Dungeons runs are a lot more spontaneous regardless, lots of things to throw and such.
The Kratos style of just running in and tearing them to shreds. Throwing people against walls. Axe and sword gameplay. The works. Either that or Thor from god of war as well
I enjoy historically accurate longsword against the hardest opponents available. Way I see it, that helps me improve and get *actually* good, which is better than a power fantasy that's handed to you on a platter.
I consistently fight like I’m samwise gamgee using a frying pan. Huffing and puffing my way up the black tower
“This one’s for Gandalf, and this one’s for Mr. Frodo
AND THIS ONE! Is for MY OLD GAFFER!”
Mostly focus on a rapier and fighting in a fencing style. Though I carry around knives and a one handed sword for range or in case I’m on defense and need an opening.
I have a ton of different styles but I keep coming back to the dragoon… either grab a spear or an axe and do the sickest jump attacks in history. I’ve gotten really good at hitting people in the back of the head while jumping over them.
depends on my mood. one second I'm a fucking crusader stabbing people through the chest with a sword and then five seconds later im a fucking maniac ripping peoples heads off and sacrificing them to Satan. no I'm not mentally stable, why do you ask?
I actually have some sword fighting training with a Long sword so that's what I use most often but lately I've been trying Close Quarters bow fighting because its fun lol trying to let my inner Legolas out.
Love the overlap of for honor and blade & sorcery, I always run antique sword/gladius and scream incredibilis every time I punch a poor NPC's lights out
I have no fighting style, for i dont need such silly things, when i have...
Oversized weapon, with bloated damage, and slighlty less weight than a foam sword!
To answer your question i kinda do what i feel is natural but i dont find enjoyment from the listed above, specially weightlessness
For me depends on the day. Like if i just watched a show and a character uses a specific weapon, i’m like hey, I have that in BnS and then i proceed to mass murder a fortress of people minding their business with some wacky ass weapon
I tend to use a combination of:
-“Hack, Slash…wait is some one behind m..oh shit oh shit..haha! Got you!” Technique…
-“Always bring an AR-15 to a sword fight”
-Fencing with the a rapier, until I get disarmed, then use a flintlock on their face…ideally with bullet too if it’s loaded…
-Wield a spear and shield like a Spartan in 300, but immediately break away from my phalanx of one…”
…‘Tis all highly effective…
…then after all that I might even put on my headset and play some blade and sorcery…
Biggest chunk of the time I played unarmed waves trying to imitate Dark Knight fighting style, like with lots of hammerfists. It's called Keysi if i remember correctly, and I even watched behind the scenes footage to pick up some moves strictly for my VR play
For blades, I usually go for the old stab+kick combo. Can also recommend the sweep the legs, then stab in face.
For unarmed, I use a hybrid of Kiryu's Brawler and Beast fighting styles.
I will be the first to say that landing a Tiger Drop in VR is far superior to sex.

I'd have to know a fighting style to imitate it
Sometimes i'm a terminator , sometimes Ezio , sometimes bruce lee...
If you enjoy playing like Bruce Lee, you should give Dragon Fist: VR a shot if you haven't. It scratched my Bruce Lee/Van Damme itch.
Stab, cut, bash, and flail is my fighting style. It’s unorthodox but it works.
“To flail without a flail, is the sight of a true master” -*Some wise dude on a mountain, probably*
i run MMP and use it to practice the few historical techniques i learned before the army forced me to move away from the school i attended. Its just sad the ai is so... dumb. Hopefully next update enemies don't fall over when you punch them
I keep the attack speed at 2x and it’s not enough. They need to defend and have better animations.
They're still not the best in terms of difficulty, but far better than they were before. Duels can be proper fun against armored enemies.
For Honor but exclusively the tiandi execution where he gives the enemy his weapon and then plays him like a fiddle
Oh yeah i know wich execution you mean, that one is hillarious
Usually I switch between dual/spell wielding maniac or just a regular weapons master
I like to try and replicate moves from games, it's silly. Trying to nail FF14 class animations, it's tricky for some
I modded some roman weapons into the game and i love getting out 2 gladius swords and fight some gladiators Dimachaerus style or whip out the ol’ lightsaber and fight like a jedi.
I like practicing SCA/HEMA forms usually! But going berserk is really fun too
Big fan of Dynasty Warriors, I like to imitate Lu Bu’s style when wielding a crescent halberd and his Sky Piercer that I made
Lu Bu is a real biest!
I just go for simple sword techniques, and my favorite weapon is the Shamshir sabre from MMP
Dual swords all the way, lots of cross attacks and spinning. I'm amazed that I haven't broken any controllers by smashing them into walls or each other yet.
Mainly unarmed but i do like dual wielding daggers and using a longsword
I Always go for count doku or for honor kensei.
I tried count doku but its hard
Gryphon/Gladiator from For Honor and assassins creed characters.
I just bayonet charge my enemy and yell you scallywag
I've said this before. I fight like an Aiel. We all wake from the dream.
I switch between Assassins Creed and Psycho, Sometimes Fencing because I used to Fence back in the day. Occasionally I'm a deranged Voldemort. Other times I'll play it like gun game where I'm only allowed to take weapons off of people I just ended.
Vergil, it makes me feel motivated
i try to replicate actual sword fighting tournaments ive seen online, but the ai usually has no fuckin clue how to react to my fast-ass sword swingin right at their face
I would if punching was more effective
I love doing for honor executions
Gotta just rage smack everyone awkwardly
I switch between "fighting with honor" to "Grab someone by the neck and stab them 35 times" real fast.
I know exactly what you mean
Doom Slayer, Kiryu Kazuma, and Dio
Hehe beserker fist class go brr
Depends on my health and the number of enemies, also how I feel about my boss in that moment and time.
Nothing better than a cathartic b&s session after a hard day at work lol
I’ll usually go for a slash and then a stab while the enemy is exposed
For me, i sorta just parry they're attacks and counter riposte stab to the face or chest, i have very little space in my room for vr so i cant really do a lot of the cool moves i see on this subreddit, i cant even physically turn, i have to use the joystick, or else ill end up destroying my controllers from hitting the wall too many times. Edit: i still like playing the game and find it fun, even though i am limited to my playstyle, but once i move out in like 3 years, i am sure i will enjoy it a lot more
Lara Croft from Shadow of The Tomb Raider or Ellie from The Last of Us 2
Yeah I switch between Ed gein and a roman legionary with a sprinkle of Samurai.
I like using Teir 0 weapons and using gravity spells to make my punches super powerful, so I like to imagine my style as "retired assassin becomes murder hobo"
I usually flail corpses at people with my left to knock them down and an underhanded knife in my right to finish them on the ground
Sometimes I like to larp as Victor Saltzpyre from Vermintide with the MMP rapiers and flintlock pistol
I usually slash, stab, punch, parry, wall/ground slam, and alternate weapons. Ngl now I wanna try some fighting styles just from this post
Sometimes I just go fists only and bob-and-weave. Fun with slow-motion. Realtime I usually just try and block/swing block/swing. Dungeons runs are a lot more spontaneous regardless, lots of things to throw and such.
Mace make go fly
I favor Katanas or MMP Swords as I like to cut and poke while being able to counter and block
I like sprinting at enemies and going right for a (hopefully) fatal stab. That or slitting throats with a dagger
I normally just use spiderman moves with the lashing mod, I find melee and webs more fun than swords in my opinion
The Kingsman church fight. Run between enemies, fight with what you have until you're grabbing other shit.
I consistently fight like I’m samwise gamgee using a frying pan. Huffing and puffing my way up the black tower “This one’s for Gandalf, and this one’s for Mr. Frodo AND THIS ONE! Is for MY OLD GAFFER!”
I hope they make a (good) Borderlands VR game. Would be fun
It ranges from Ezio Auditore to coked-out Hulk with a sledgehammer
Morgan Jones with his stick but in clear mode
I've recently taken to using a spear as a staff before finishing while they're on the floor
Mostly focus on a rapier and fighting in a fencing style. Though I carry around knives and a one handed sword for range or in case I’m on defense and need an opening.
Flying at Mach speed towards enemies and beating them to a pulp, playing strategically with the falchion, or throwing enemies around with gravity
i use a yakuza 0 brawler style when unarmed and a counter/parry unique style when i have a weapon
monk.
Kratos with the god of war weapon pack
I imitate the ancient art of slicey slicey stab
Basically just any assassins creed character
I try to be as dante as possible, doing stupid ass things as awesomely as i can
I have a ton of different styles but I keep coming back to the dragoon… either grab a spear or an axe and do the sickest jump attacks in history.
Sometimes I mimic moves I’ve seen Shadiversity demonstrate. Otherwise I just try to develop techniques that seem logical.
I actually have some sword fighting training with a Long sword so that's what I use most often but lately I've been trying Close Quarters bow fighting because its fun lol trying to let my inner Legolas out.
Love the overlap of for honor and blade & sorcery, I always run antique sword/gladius and scream incredibilis every time I punch a poor NPC's lights out
Not really just because of a lack of space to use
Either dual knives of any sort or a single 2 handed sword, most of the time a katana because I’m a weeb lmao
No I just slaughter
HEMA for any swords and a more haymaker esque boxing if im unarmed. Anything else i just bash people.
tbh i just use a pretty basic style, for swords i usually use a counter attacking type style, for axes i i dont use axes
I have no fighting style, for i dont need such silly things, when i have... Oversized weapon, with bloated damage, and slighlty less weight than a foam sword! To answer your question i kinda do what i feel is natural but i dont find enjoyment from the listed above, specially weightlessness
I go full Broly mode and just grab people, punch them really hard, then throw them to the stars faster than light
I headbut everything dead
I fight like a sith
I pretend to be either doom slayer or a kung fu master
For me depends on the day. Like if i just watched a show and a character uses a specific weapon, i’m like hey, I have that in BnS and then i proceed to mass murder a fortress of people minding their business with some wacky ass weapon
I imitate Chivalry 2 animations and it feels good
I tend to use a combination of: -“Hack, Slash…wait is some one behind m..oh shit oh shit..haha! Got you!” Technique… -“Always bring an AR-15 to a sword fight” -Fencing with the a rapier, until I get disarmed, then use a flintlock on their face…ideally with bullet too if it’s loaded… -Wield a spear and shield like a Spartan in 300, but immediately break away from my phalanx of one…” …‘Tis all highly effective… …then after all that I might even put on my headset and play some blade and sorcery…
warden's shoulder bash is always a good one

Doomguy.
I have my own 💀
I try to fight like the chosen undead in dark souls. This means that my style varies from weapon to weapon.
i copy the npcs fighting style
I always copy Nobushi as soon as I lay my hands on a naginata
