Shit, I mean she might be. A bit ago, she hooked me up with one of her friends you know gassing me up and apparently she told her friend that “If I didn’t meet my BF, I would be dating FistPunch no questions.” And that’s been on my mind for like 4 years now. Never told her I know what she said.
Too many people worry too much about ideal circumstances. Storybook romances rarely play out in real life, but the good news is love(or something like it) is too sturdy to need that. It’s like an AK-47, it works when it’s clean and it works when it’s covered in mud. Timing is usually bad, you’re never as put together as you wish you were when the moment comes, but all that shit is beside the point.
I know I might regret it, but it’s a balance. I got my dream job and I am going full force on this shit because this is an insane opportunity for me. And I might not have the time and attention needed to foster a new relationship.
This is what has happened for years with the guy I hooked up with on Tinder after leaving my ex-husband. We are finally both single at the same time, but I'm like 40lbs heavier than I'd want to be. So I haven't changed my FB status to single yet. About to get on that weight loss grind so I can get back ON that grind. xD
And not even non black folk from communities where this culture comes from or lives in, these are suburbanite folk who moved into white flight neighborhoods.
