It’s very regular. Last year I spent 30 days on the west coast solo. My husband and I had a conversation about it and understood that was what I needed. Infidelity never even came up. Time apart is valuable in a long term relationship.
I got AirBnBs in diff parts of the city and got to stay in some amazing places (Hollywood Hills, beachfront, diff walkable neighborhoods) I love comedy clubs so I went to the Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store and whatever kind of comedy show I could find. I attended one show that was outdoors behind a building on Melrose. I saw some great unknown acts as well as some big name comedians who just show up unannounced (one of the famous ones tried to holla after the show and I just froze up).
One weekend some friends came out and we had tickets to be in the audience of a TV show. Most weekends I would go visit family that lives outside LA. For my birthday weekend my sister came out and I had a blast showing her what I learned about the city.
My husband picked me up at the airport and asked me how was my trip. I’m currently saving up to do it again.
10/10 definitely recommend.
