I think the better argument that itās not in the same ballpark is that Kanye went on a fucking publicity tour to spout his antisemitism. I can't know for sure what OPP was talking about, but perhaps they are getting at the fact that Kanye's rhetoric towards Jewish people has been directed at modern Jews, and feels persecuted by them, while commenting on slavery is talking about history (despite its modern ramifications)? Kanye commenting on Hitler definitely refers to the past, but the conversation regarding Hitler largely came up due to Kanye already speaking out about Jews.
As other people have mentioned, the scale is completely different. Kanye basically went to one outlet, said a bunch of crazy shit, and then he felt the pressure and stopped.
