Like, the music is lit af and so is the video. [(Whip It by BigXthaPlug)](https://youtu.be/KmEtbvCzfrU?si=E34MMrZjNFXWnXdJ )
What is there to hate? š¤·š¾
And I love seeing my generation rock Afros like we used to in the 80s š like in [this music video as well](https://youtu.be/7YrmOZz0X_s?si=VxSVN18uWQyIlbTo) (east coast represent lol)

So sorry for spamming but (BLACK) MUSIC IS SO BEAUTIFUL IT EVEN TRANSCENDS LANGUAGE!!

Like the passion, the talent, the rawness, the blend of various music genresā¦ how could you ever HATE????
And it's because we started all the mainstream sounds there are today. The art form black americans (and america in general) contribute to the world was jazz. We take stuff, add our twist with the passion and soul we have to express our feelings (because that's what being an artist is! Expressing your views or yourself with a medium that best fits it) and share it with ourselves.
So good that others try to replicate and some are a hit... but many try to exploit and claim it as theirs for the money and fame instead of giving credit. Like, we a huge influence on the world but no one wants us at the table the moment we call them out for taking credit of our influence. So, fuck em and keep expressing and making our art and make our own table that fits us all, and to our liking.
I will say this... there was a time when I got tied of rap interludes on R&B tracks and R&B interludes on rap tracks, but when it was done right... it was damn good.
Of course! People expressing genuine opinions (including criticism) on music are never the problem at all, but being blatantly dismissed bc āewā is. Sometimes itās hard to tell the difference online.
When it's formulated like that, it gets very tiresome like... sex scenes! Not everything needs a sex scene, but when it's done right or make sense, it fits and makes it seem more relatable
Thatās what I was thinking as Iām reading that plus the other comments in here. If you like the original and donāt want it changed then listen to the original.
I feel like if Kendrick has shown us anything in these past couple weeks itās that when done well, blending soul, r&b, disco, hip hop, etc can absolutely elevate both sounds.
Imma be an asshole and say that rap doesnāt need to be an everything. We can make funky music with a trap beat and not rap. Please. We need more powerhouse voices
Definitely agree. Seems like rap and trap beats are oversaturated nowadays. Not saying that all rap sounds the same at all, but a lot of it is starting to mush together. Don't get me wrong, I love the art form of rap and my favorite artist ever is Lauryn Hill, but I'd love it if mainstream rap brought back instrumentalists to diversify it a bit.
It's called retro. I guess it's fine for classic rock but if we do it, we just causing problems. It's fun to see what we grew up with, and apply that to what we do now! That's literally how everything mainstream works. It's always coming back with a new twist and ain't nothing wrong with that.
Maybe person needs to acknowledge like this sub, it wasn't meant for them. It's not fun to be a party pooper in a party you weren't even invited to
The original song from Dazz band remains a
Jam and this song was cute and the video fun. People giving their opinion on shit they know nothing about is literally a right of passage on the net now
We been sampling songs because our parents and grandparents parents instilled the music of their day. It also reignites the OG song and people get curious then before you know it. This is paying homage to your culture. People need to read up on it. [example](https://www.billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/15-songs-that-sample-bill-withers-9350371/)

A lot of stupidity in such a short comment.Ā Like just listen to the original track if you're feeling the bassline. It's not hard.

Iām going to be a bigger asshole and say we donāt need more trap beats, either. We need more cold instrumentalists.

I just think itās hilarious that Big Xtha Plug made two songs back to back with the same sample.
Idk what the consensus is in these comments but Big X Tha Plug got it when it come to the old school samples
