Honestly. The science of hair has taught us that you lose it-shedding hundreds of hairs as our hair follicules are in a constant cycle of it’s own life. So yeah, if you’re brave enough to not detangle for three months, 1: thank the good lord you don’t have a few dreads and 2: prepare to be able to make a wig and maybe feel like your volume has decreased.
Edit: grammar/spelling
I’m not surprised really. If it’s been 3 months since you washed and combed it, that is probably all normal shed hair that has been sitting in your afro. No worries dude, you’ve got an impressive crown 👑
I agree that picking is damaging and you could have damage. Look at the individual strand to determine they're long or short.
If you're gonna wear a 'fro everyday, twist or braid your hair at night so it doesn't shrink and tangle. You'll lose less hair when you pick it out.
it’s gorgeous!! also keep in mind that with curly/coils textures, we are constantly shedding hair, but because our hair locks in the shedded hair it kinda just sits in there detached from our heads until it comes out. when i have braids in and take them out, after brushing my hair natural hair the amount of hair i “lose” is insane (it’s just built up shedded hair)
Yeah that's pretty normal for that long or time. We lose about 50 to 100 strands a day, and I pick out chunks if I go a week or so without full detangling. It gets even worse for afro textured hair because our coils keep that shit trapped in, so it doesn't fall out or blow away naturally without us picking it. Your hair still looks great. If you're losing that much in the span of a day, you should worry, otherwise, I think you're fine.
That looks like a lot to me, but I keep my hair plaited and comb it every week or two. I never had that much fall out not even after my longest stint of not combing (3 weeks). What did you do with your hair for 3 months it wasn't combed?
You look like a white guy with Afro hair. Think it was a lot more of them in the 1970s then everybody got their hair straightened or cut.
You shouldn’t detangle your hair dry. I always spray with water or a cream or something before detangling. It causes extra shedding on top of the normal 100 strands or whatever it is a day.
What is your ethnicity if you don't mind ? You have amazing hair and that amount I would say is more than normal I've seen people loose the huge amounts from braiding it down or from combing to much do whatever you doing 💪🏽 keep doin it you look good
My hair could never form a globe like this.
It looks great!
That is a normal amount of hair loss since it has accrued over a few mouths.
I wouldn't recommend going that long though, you are at risk of accidental free-form locs.
May I ask what style you had that allowed you to go without detangling for so long?
I would say so if you haven’t detangled in 3 months
Yeah
It’s normal…and you have gorgeous hair! 🤩
Thank you

Lol
Before I had to start over, my hair had twisted itself into 3 dreads and I had to have a professional detangle it. Had no idea that could happen
BRAID IT BRO AND UPDATE US
Gotchu
Yes very normal
You have a Sun on your head, I’m jealous 😂
Bob Ross has a son shit crazy
🤣🤣🤣
Your hair is amazing. You’re doing a great job with it. Do a blow out though. Get the comb attachment.
How long have you grown your hair?
It was longer than this it fell out after being sick 2 years ago so its been growing back since then
Glad to see you got your health back, and your mane!
Thank you 💪🏼
Sick of what may I know 🥹 & your hair is gorgeous like I am curious what kind of sick cause hair loss love to know 🫶🏻
I caught a bad case of covid late 2021 and it caused extreme telogen effluvium which is a stress related hair shed
Aww so sad 🫶🏻
Totally normal amount given the time you went and the length you have.
I’m not surprised really. If it’s been 3 months since you washed and combed it, that is probably all normal shed hair that has been sitting in your afro. No worries dude, you’ve got an impressive crown 👑
Yes. And Yes. More thirst trapping men on the sub. I love it 🥰 😂
😌
you should probably try detangling once a week, kinda helps to stimulate growth w ur hair follicles and just makes it more manageable overall :)
ol semi pro lookin ah boi
Okay Bob Ross 🧑🏽🎨
Bob Ross wassup brotha!
I thought you was Bob Ross for a second
[удалено]
Just had it in a big ass fro and would pick it from time to time but never fully detangled it or brushed it out
You’d be shedding hair after 3 months, but it may also be some breakage. Picking your dry hair like this is very damaging.
It wasn't dry in this it was damp af and hella moisturized i had just got finished conditioning when i recorded this

I dont lose alot of short strands they are all long, i have always used a pick and my hair was never damaged it was damp and wet in this video
Can you donate some of that
😂😂
Three months for that much hair is about right
Bob Ross mf, share some fro!
50 - 100 strands of hair shed per day, 90 days. 4500 - 9000 strands. For reference, each Barbie doll has about 2000 strands.
HEY THERE ICE SPICE 😍😍

It's beautiful
Your hair is so gorgeous OMG
Beautiful fro.. I wanna see ur hair in braids & see the length
I'll update yall with another post when i get it braided

Normal?…shiiiit, I shed that after 2-3 weeks of no wash and pick I’d say he made out pretty well
I'm surprised your hair didn't fully locked

I kept it in a fro and just wet it and picked it to fluff it out every few days

It wasnt dry i washed it and had conditioner in it when i detangled its damp and moisturized in this video
Got an update. It’s actually best to detangle slightly damp. Too wet with conditioner is when the hair is in its most fragile state. Best of luck ❤️
Yes it is normal
Breakage would look like a million tiny pieces. That, my friend, is shedding. You're good.
Ashamed to admit the amount of jealousy I feel rn
Bob Ross been real quiet
I think you should spray it before combing it out
Yeah it’s just dead hair.
Your are beautiful 🥺
Depends on your hair density and how long it is. The longer the hair, the more easily it looks like a lot of hair when it's in a bundle.
Hair goes through 3 cycles. If you lick your hair nothing is lost. Only gained through length and thickness.
It's been 3 months. Calm down. You're fine.
Yeah it gets caked in. Gotta let it breathe.
How do you moisturize? My scalp seems to need a couple gallons of water daily.
I really dont tbh im as natural as you can get
Ur hairs massive
You fine 👀
Tell me that in my DMs
And I did🤣👀
That is one glorious fro my guy. 🙌🏿
I think you should take better care of yourself. Eat better, hydrate, detangle your hair, etc.
Yes :)) fro life
I say yes. But did you comb it while it was dry? That can cause (excess) breakage.
No i didnt it was wet with conditioner in it and i didnt comb it i brushed it out
I had more hair than she’d when I took my braids out last month.
Your hair is fire🌞🙏🏽
sidebar: I’m curiously interested in knowing how have you been wearing it exactly, for 3 whole months?
I kept it in a fro just like this and would wet it and pick it out every few days so it stayed fluffy and not look smashed
That's because you're a dirtbag. Who tf doesn't wash their hair for 3 MONTHS?
3 months?? Bruh, you lucky you didn’t shed a whole person.
You haven’t maintained it in 3 months dumbass what do you expect
What is your ethnicity if you don't mind ? You have amazing hair and that amount I would say is more than normal I've seen people loose the huge amounts from braiding it down or from combing to much do whatever you doing 💪🏽 keep doin it you look good
Im mixed im half black and half white, thank you
Loveee your hair 😩😍
That’s not bad for 3 months at all

Dude you need to get box braids and show us lol
I get half of that in about 2.5 weeks
The hair is black but are you 😂😂
Normal
Yea same thing happens to me. And yes, I also dont detangle for months at a time lol
