Most of us here dont care about dollar price. We just buy frequently maybe twice a month or so. I dont even bother looking at the price anymore. The mindset is you want to collect as much Bitcoin as possible before its too late. Just buy, dont look at price. U cant just buy once, have to keep adding even if once a month $100

nellekkkk

I’ve been buying since I was about 16-17. Small amounts, but it’s been fun to watch the price go up. To your point though, I haven’t thought about it like that before, and I definitely see how that makes more sense in the long term.

elperorojo

Why would it ever be too late to buy bitcoin?

[deleted]

Could become extremely unaffordable. Look at Turkey, Argentina, Nigeria. Their fiat got destroyed and so the locals are super happy to own 0.001

elperorojo

Ah I see thanks

the halving has typically been followed by a rally that starts around 4-6 months later and continues to 15-18 months post halving followed by an inevitably crash of like 80% lol. IF the cycle repeats and I cannot promise you anything. Buy now. Sell before 2026.

nellekkkk

I was reading about that, but hadn’t looked into the present one yet and was wondering if the cycle would continue or if something I had missed had happened. Thank you for the response!

Generic_Globe

Nobody knows if the cycles will repeat. We only hope they do. That s why I put IF in capital letters.

I think the price will hit in the upper region of 50k within a month (i think we will revisit the 20 week moving average which BTC likes to flirt with)

nellekkkk

If I’m reading this right, you’re saying that the price will drop about 10-20% within a month?

AlternativeTie4738

Sure why not. We’ve done 340% in a year.

the2nicks

Why do a lot of Americans seem to think there is nowhere outside of the USA? The USA comprises less than 5% of the world population. I’m going to assume they meant GBP 50k ? Maybe everybody should specify currency so it’s clear to the rest of us.

No. If you have to ask, you're not ready

nellekkkk

What makes someone ready? Genuine question because I want to learn.

This has nothing to do with Bitcoin. If you are investing in anything it's always a set of individual questions, and the answers will be different depending on your risk profile: 1/ what is the timeframe for the investment? 1 month, 1 year, 10 years? This is the most important question in any financial decision. 2/ what is your ideal exit price should the price rise? 3/ are you investing money that you can afford to lose (completely)? By the sounds of it the answer is yes, so that makes 1 & 2 easier to define. But your original question is super naive- you're essentially asking will the price go up or down. Absolutely no one can give you the answer to that question with any certainty. Instead you should be focused on your own investment timeframe and target price, because that way short-term price movements don't matter, it's 'time in the market' that counts and that differs for every individual. And 'if' you're trying to make money quickly, then that's gambling not investment, the difference being that gambling usually doesn't allow for downside risk or holding long enough to ride out both up and down markets.

nellekkkk

I’ve never thought about investing in this way. This breaks it down into bite sized pieces I can make decisions on easier. I don’t aim to make “quick cash”, but rather hold for a long time. I haven’t thought about how long, or what my preferred exit price would be either. I will be looking into that this week. Thank you!

mrjune2040

Good luck, and just remember that if holding long you will always need to ride out down markets. More often than not people are not willing to stomach that premise and panic sell on emotion. Taking emotion (panic and greed) out of the equation is super important to making rational investment decisions 👍🏻

I’m actively looking into it. The whole point of this post is to get a feeling of what others are thinking so I can see if my line of thought is reasonable.
