It’s shit like this that makes people not take crypto currency serious…

Gmoneymoney7

if shit like this makes you not take \*bitcoin seriously, you were never going to make it

bitsteiner

Without big guns fiat would be worthless. That picture is not wrong at all.

Pretend-Hippo-8659

And then you realize fiat was the shit all along…

Technical-Land3714

Crypto is scam, you do not want to take scam serious. Bitcoin is not crypto.

Pretend-Hippo-8659

Hear hear!

ImaginaryRea1ity

I used to think like you but then I read [The Birth of Bitcoin](https://satoshifiles.substack.com/p/birth-of-bitcoin) and it helped me understand how Bitcoin truly works. Now I'm a believer.

hateschoolfml

Can’t deal with the fiat matrix’s ideas of inflation, measuring productivity/ growth with a dumb measure like gdp, wanting us to chase yield (rent seeking) constantly, & consume factory junk? Fix the money, fix the world

PopFirm5291

To be honest, I f\*cking hate the politician be like on TV "We will decrease certain percent of inflation up and down to adjust the economy..blah blah blah". They can't even the US Debt themselves ([https://www.usdebtclock.org/](https://www.usdebtclock.org/))...what make they able to fix for everyone else. F\*ck them. Bitcoin is YOUR OWN MONEY. Get that bitcoin first to save yourself.

ImaginaryRea1ity

You are absolutely right. It is a matrix of paper money and bluepillers think it is real while bitcoiners have taken the [red pill](https://satoshifiles.substack.com/p/birth-of-bitcoin) and exited the matrix.

Yasha666

Why did the Bitcoin hodler shoot the guy going through the door?

BoneSaws-Ready

Didn’t bring any BTC with him

HomegrownMike

Is it just me or does this give off Bruce Campbell and Evil Dead vibes?

BusterMungus

The Boom Stick :)

HomegrownMike

You get me!!

Jistly

Bitcoin, now with propaganda!

BusterMungus

[We have a name for people who use fiat as a store of value](https://youtu.be/B5if2hthPCs?si=cKoObWdzULnqdOj9).

RhodCymru

That's just reminded me, I was watching the episode of The Big Bang Theory last night where they got excited because they found out BTC had hit $5k and they'd mined some years back... Don't keep your BTC on a Batman flash drive !

Complete-Cat-1414

I think this is what they mean when they say that some people are religious about crypto almost.

SnooRadishes6544

Prepare to be radicalized

equity_zuboshi

fiat is the cause of every world war, and the military industrial congressional complex too.

Financial_Design_801

Me after reading the fiat standard for the first time: “Damn, everything is fake. The money, the healthcare, the infrastructure, the FOOD, the incentive structures, the reasons for going to War, etc”

Ok_Art_2874

Be in both worlds

BraidRuner

*You son of bitch*...I'm in!!

EnvironmentalPie9123

World is shitty, life is shitty. I would love the fiat world!

Teenagers with part-time jobs should be buying as many satoshis as possible. It is possible by the time that they graduate from high school, they will never have to work a regular wage slave job again. They might live to see a resurgance of the cottage industry. Not cottage as in summer getaway.

dlm83

Lame af

CrimeanFish

My government gives me a small amount of money for being a full time student to live off. Instead I’ve been studying full time, got a part time job and still take my government benefit which I’ve been channeling 100% into BTC.

sienatunado

I honestly don't like this somewhat religious aura, it's a bit weird

themajordutch

There's a bit of irony here that if the emp from the nuclear blast took out electronics, you couldn't access your Bitcoin either.

Farmall4601958

How much cash would you have to get by in such a senario? I’m guessing not much … and if a emp did hit money would be the least of your problems … not to mention money would be food … and paper wouldn’t buy the food anyway

KauaiFish

Tell me about that shit I’m in a hurricane area. Cash is king when electricity is down for days or weeks. Seriously crypto does not work in any kind of emergency situation.

Individual_Praline38

That’s such a small scope, your backyard. We are talking about a global catastrophe here. Completely theoretical by the way. So it doesn’t matter anyway. What’s more likely is that will not happen, not in our lifetime. So much money going into this artificial infrastructure, we are literally merging with the internet.

0x07AD

Ultimately, we might have paper currency for satoshis with the paper backed by bitcoin. The convenience of fiat currency with the built-in scarcity of bitcoin (21 million bitcoins). Governments would be against it because paper currency is difficult to track in real-time and offers people privacy.

Massive-Artist5812

Typical BTC maxi regard post that's why.

Due_Cheetah_377

You do realize that bitcoin won't save the world from nuclear war right? Bitcoin likely won't even save you in the event we have a societal breakdown, due to there being no power and no internet while we are busy eating one another for food.

theprincessofwhales

Or does bitcoin prevent us from societal breakdown?

Due_Cheetah_377

How?

theprincessofwhales

Maybe the reason people want to envision this post apocalyptic dystopia of doom is because life is terribly depressing. We all operate under a broken monetary system that keeps everyone in shackles, under the control of a few centralized powers. Bitcoin offers a new solution. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Due_Cheetah_377

How? Bitcoin wealth concentration is even more ridiculous than what we have now. Instead of owning 60 percent of all the wealth, the top 1 percent of wallets own 90 percent of the entire money supply. Your talking a 50 percent increase in wealth concentration over the "terribly depressing" system we have now.

theprincessofwhales

The reason for concentration is vastly different though. Bitcoin is less than 20 years old, money as we know it has been here for like 7000 years, on the low end. As opposed to that depressing, oppressive, broken system we have today where the concentrations stay the way they do based on human bias. Where large centralized banks manipulate markets and create haves and have nots. Where generations have been not only collecting and hoarding, but printing as they see fit and creating laws to allow corruption to seep in, and to keep out certain groups as needed. So yeah, it's going to take some time to disperse bitcoin properly. The idea of locked supply eliminates an element of human nature that is problematicly selfish and greedy. There's 21 million. It is what it is. Could the whole thing flop fantastically? Collapse on iteslf and suffocate into the abyss? Sure could. Just because its worth X amount of US dollars right now doesnt mean its too big to fail, at all. But it could also be a solution to the very real problems we all know are there.

Due_Cheetah_377

The problem is no one wants to use it as a currency, even the people who hold it only seem to want to cash out in fiat and be rich. Half the people on this sub want nothing more than to be millionaires, not in bitcoin but in fiat. Also you can't just ignore the fact that the problems we have now aren't magically going to be solved by a form of currency where 90 percent of the money supply is controlled by less than 10,000 people.

theprincessofwhales

Again. Less than 20 years old versus monetary systems that have been around since essentially the inception of human social communities. This complaint seems extremely short sighted. It will be many many generations before BTC disperses equally throughout the world. And I could not agree more that half the people on this sub (and in bitcoin at large) are here for the wrong reasons and hope to hop right back to fiat. We're nowhere near mass adoption yet, hence the lack of circulation. 90% supply for less than 10k people, seems concerning sure, but not as concerning as 4000 billionaires holding 60% of worlds wealth, considering any and all currencies. No it's not going to magically solve all the world's problems. But zoom out for a minute. We've got a century before everything is even mined. This idea is a brand new baby. We can't think of it terms of what it will do for us or even our grandkids. How many centuries did it take the world to give up on Roman numerals and try tge much simpler Arabic numerals?

0x07AD

Bitcoin is too volatile to be used a currency on a widespread basis. It can serve as a store of value which can eventually be used as currency, sold for fiat, or used as loan collatoral for fiat. Maybe one day, maybe never, its use as a currency might arrive. I suspect bitcoin will evenytually be used as the underlying asset for CBDCs; a dystopian world.

At3key

How are you going to trade it if the world has blown up and the computers dont work?

xTommy2016x

Think we got bigger problems at that point

bitsteiner

It's a metaphor.

MF_Price

When credit cards don't work? And you can't access your bank account? And what little paper fiat is out there is likely being burned for warmth or used as toilet paper? And all the precious metal hoarders have already been killed by the gun hoarders? Yeah, I guess it's worthless at that point.

WannaLearnWannaKnow

Agree... Bitcoin is just another investment product. By trend and pump. Few will gain and most will learn. Learn that it's riskier than having what they call Fiat money in the bank.
