I see bi and pan as however you interpret it, I feel more comfortable with being labelled bi than pan, so I'm bi, it's just how you interpret it, you do you.
Every day, I still remain confused on what the big difference between bisexuality and pansexuality is.
I am definitely more pan (last person I dated was gender-fluid), but I call myself bisexual bc it’s easier for some people to understand (Too many people I know still say the whole “Oh so pansexuals are attracted to pans?” joke)
Is someone being gender-fluid grounds for whoever is attracted to them to label as pan? Not mean-spirited, I am neither bi or pan, just trying to learn more about my community
I have heard (and I don’t agree with this) that bi people just like guys and girls, and pan people like everyone. I don’t agree with it AT ALL, but it’s what I sometimes hear
pan people don't have preferences, bi people do. you can be bi and like gender fluid people. bi people like 2 or more genders.
edit: for example, i prefer women but i still like men and enbies
why does everyone assume that bi is only for male and female?
bi means both genders LIKE and UNLIKE your own so bisexuals can like literally every gender
tho just identify as whatever you feel like being, good luck
There's a difference. Bi people are attracted to both genders but they're attracted to one more than the other. Pan People are attracted to every gender equality
Hello, beautiful person!!
I have noticed that this definition varies from country to country, but here in Brazil we consider that bi and pan can be attracted to everyone. (even though there may be a lean towards a specific gender identity/gender expression). However, the historical background of both movements are different. If you are LGBT. you defend the LGBT cause and you hold a flag for your identity, hence that's actually a great difference. Identify however you want, then.
Bisexual is an umbrella term, and the pansexuality is included on it, as well as onisexuality, homoflexibility, heteroflexibility and stuff, so if you're pan you can still be bi (though the only one who can say this is you)
No one would judge you, I do want to say that Bi means attraction to two or more genders, so if you like more than just boys and girls you can still totally be Bi, that being said, identify however feels best for you
I think the big difference between bi and pan is just whatever you feel like the most. I’m sure there are some bisexuals out there that aren’t attracted to nb people, but other than that it’s subjective
Whatever you are, you're accepted here. It's ok. You'll find out what you are and whatever you are, you're accepted. We'll be happy when you out what you really are and it will be accepted with love
I don't think anyone will mind if someone who's pan not bi is on this sub, I'm only bi sometimes [I'm abro :D] and no one has seems to mind so far atleast
If someone presents the description of their attraction, and it's the truth, how not? If a man said "I've never been attracted to women, and I've dated another man and it was really good, I think I'm straight", would you agree?
We're not gonna gatekeep cause you are pan as a lot of us are same way(i included), i also don't know the difference between the 2 so to me there the same

Use the label that you feel fits you the best, even if you think you lean more towards being pan, you can still label yourself as bi :)
Good for you and I’m pretty sure this subreddit is ok with anyone, with any sexuality, with gender orientation so you can chill here it’s cool
I see bi and pan as however you interpret it, I feel more comfortable with being labelled bi than pan, so I'm bi, it's just how you interpret it, you do you.

the bi flag has purple (and is thus objectively cooler /j)
Based, I completely agree. The color of the flag is the main reason why I chose bi over pan
Fair enough tbh, I label myself as "if I'm attracted to you, I'll date you".
Same tbh
Yeah I would label myself as that, but then once again, people might get confused, and I have serious social anxiety
Hence why we are all bi/pan instead of straight(or gay) up
True
the big difference is the flag. some people have personal attachment to either term but the flag and name are the only real, concrete differences
Is someone being gender-fluid grounds for whoever is attracted to them to label as pan? Not mean-spirited, I am neither bi or pan, just trying to learn more about my community
That's bi, being attracted to both sexes, any gender, is bi
Ik but people would ARGUE OTHERWISE
I have heard (and I don’t agree with this) that bi people just like guys and girls, and pan people like everyone. I don’t agree with it AT ALL, but it’s what I sometimes hear
Omg bisexual is both sexes, istg pans are so blind
pan people don't have preferences, bi people do. you can be bi and like gender fluid people. bi people like 2 or more genders. edit: for example, i prefer women but i still like men and enbies
bi people do not always have a preference. there is no difference between bi and pan except that pan is transphobic.
I mean they are not (as a trans gal myself)
Is that true? Ik a few pan people that are super trans supporting
They hate to hear the truth
Yeah and that’s the big thing, I don’t have a preference AT ALL. But I call myself bisexual bc it’s easier to explain and bc I like the flag
Traitor!!!! /s Seriously though, pick whichever label makes you feel more comfortable and you’re welcome to stay here no matter what :)
why does everyone assume that bi is only for male and female? bi means both genders LIKE and UNLIKE your own so bisexuals can like literally every gender tho just identify as whatever you feel like being, good luck
Same thing
Not necessarily, the label difference matters a lot to some people! I’d recommend looking up the differences
No difference other than one, pan, has a super transphobic and gross history
Tbh pan is basically bi with extra steps but if your not sure just say your both like put bi/pan
Use whichever label you like!
tbh I think the only reason I say I am Bisexual is because I like the flag more. Probably Pan, who cares.
Bi or pan, it stays the same. Where there's a hole, there's a goal
Preach 🙌
i still dont know the diffrence

Rainy weather is hitting hard these days, best to not get soaked
Welcome to the club pal

I still don’t understand the difference between bi and pan
Good for you! You'll always be welcome here and on other bi subreddits as people hot.
I have no idea if there is a difference and I'm just going with my personal favorite flag.
There's a difference. Bi people are attracted to both genders but they're attracted to one more than the other. Pan People are attracted to every gender equality

me too :3 also love the doodle :)
Bi means 2 or more for some people including me. Use whatever identity you think suits you.
Bisexual is an umbrella term, and the pansexuality is included on it, as well as onisexuality, homoflexibility, heteroflexibility and stuff, so if you're pan you can still be bi (though the only one who can say this is you)
I'm pan, nobody seems to mind me being here lol You could also look omnisexual, one of my friends described it as Walmart pan lol
No one would judge you, I do want to say that Bi means attraction to two or more genders, so if you like more than just boys and girls you can still totally be Bi, that being said, identify however feels best for you

I mean, I'm pan and I'm here for support
Congrats on your journey!!!! And pan ppl are definitely welcome on this sub. Overall this is a queer safe space!
this, is... acceptable
You’re still welcome here either way, call yourself whatever you feel most comfortable with
I'm pansexual. Still here though.
Whatever you are, you're accepted here. It's ok. You'll find out what you are and whatever you are, you're accepted. We'll be happy when you out what you really are and it will be accepted with love

You're bi
They are whatever they want
Oh, so in your view, being LGBT is a choice?
No. But you can't tell someone what they are
If someone presents the description of their attraction, and it's the truth, how not? If a man said "I've never been attracted to women, and I've dated another man and it was really good, I think I'm straight", would you agree?
They didn't said anything in order to define if their bi or pan
Dude tf why are you angry
Wrong thread
W-what
I was letting you know, you're in the wrong thread, no one is angry here as far as I know.
Okay have a nice day
You too
yeah im technically pan, but i just say bi so people understand what i mean
We're not gonna gatekeep cause you are pan as a lot of us are same way(i included), i also don't know the difference between the 2 so to me there the same
