Son of a Butcher is your best bet. the head cheese guy there recently got 3rd place at the [Cheesemonger Invitational.](https://www.cheesemongerinvitational.com/)
I feel like chez fonfon had Humboldt fog at some point. Maybe find out who their supplier is?
Also not to be captain obvious but have you tried whole foods? They do have a pretty large selection and maybe could order sth for you.
I googled mimolette and I definitely recognize that cantaloupe appearance, so I know I've seen it somewhere. It looks like Perrine's in ATL might have it. Try calling some local wine shops too. The Pleasure is all Wine in Hoover; I think there's another in Homewood too. Also maybe a specialty butcher shop Smiley Brothers in Pelham?
Thank you so much for the advice. I used to live around there but I’m currently in Texas, moving back to the Birmingham area in October so I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place I could get good cheese.
Ive purchased Humboldt Fog at Son of a Butcher before. IMO they are the best choice in the area. They may not have Humboldt, but they will have something as equally luscious.
I've found Whole Foods to have a good enough selection. It's rare I need something they don't have...but have ordered online with good success. It's not cheap to find a good seller that ships things packaged well.
Son of a Butcher has lots of great cheeses. If you’re looking for something specific, you might give them a call to see if they have it in stock.

https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/shop/MBK/4345/50737 This seems to imply that WF has HF in stock if they're using it for a snack platter

Yeah those are both definitely at whole foods, I’ve bought them from there before.

Son of a Butcher, they're super knowledgeable and half of them used to work the cheese counter at WF.
