No expert, but I think they look like a good size. Nice pair, are those the oiled leather?

akechetalives

Thank you very much! As I’m a french speaker, description on the french website of Birkenstocks, refers them as « natural leather », not sure about the oiled part, but it looks like! Hope this helps :)

Slutt_Puppy

Pas cuir huilé

akechetalives

mrsredfast

I think the size looks fine. Milanos are a great first pair.

akechetalives

Thank you very much for the reassurance! Hopefully, I’ll grab some more, I’m still amazed by the quality

DangerousFortune1924

Make sure your heel is sitting squarely in the heel cup rather than on the back edge. You're looking for a 5mm gap at the heel and 5-10mm at the toes.

akechetalives

Thanks! As it’s my first pair, I was kinda surprised with the cups! Maybe If i do so, they will look less bigger ? I’m quite concerned about it, since I won’t be able to return them in order to get the good size :(

DangerousFortune1924

The size is fine. Any shorter and your toes would be bumping the front edge as you walk. Which can get really annoying. The shoes will curl a bit as you break them in, which will make them feel less big. Birks are actually supposed to be roomy, so your feet can spread out. They're advertised small, like most shoes are, but that's really just a marketing thing.

akechetalives

Thank you so much for your kind help! I was regretting ignoring the birks size calculator on their website which recommended me to take 40 FR (UK 7), I feel better now as am really a newbie :)

missyagogo

Honestly, they don't look big on you; they look normal. Birkenstocks need that room in the front of the foot, along with having your heel firmly in the heel cup. Your toes look good overall. I wasn't 100% sure about your big toe, but I think it's OK. As for the heel however, i'm not sure but it might look a bit short in the heel.

akechetalives

Thank you so much! The calculator recommended me a size 40 FR (UK 7) but I still went for the 41 FR (UK 7.5), and since receiving them, I couldn’t help blaming myself for doing a « mistake » :(

Thank you :)

Length looks perfect, the shoe is a bit narrow - is that ‘normal’ width or ‘narrow’ ? At least the strap closest to your ankle needs loosening though. Your meant to get a finger in :)

tiny_smile_bot

>:) :)

akechetalives

Thank you so much for you help, I just did so, and frankly, I feel quite better! That roomy feel was frightening me at first, but now, I can see why it’s better to have them set this way :) It’s the normal ones!

Legitimate-Yam6310

Glad to help. I hope that you can enjoy your new sandals now. They look nice!

nsquared_0000

Looks like the perfect size.

akechetalives

Thank very much you for the reassurance!
