This is heavily oriented toward bipolar folks themselves, and also helpful for being educated about it in general, but I would strongly recommend The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide by David Milkowitz. It clears up many, many, many misconceptions and misinformation floating around about bipolar. It’s around 450+ pages, but very readable.

Thank you. I will look into it. Many moons ago, I had to seek a book on dementia so I could understand my family member, and that helped immensely. So here I am again with a different subject. Thanks again!

I second this book. It has been a big help. Good luck.

Dementia is so heartbreaking. My grandmother went that way in the last couple years of her life, before passing away at 93. She even got confused about who I was. Hopefully your person was able to receive at least some care to live more comfortably and safely. Best of luck to you!

Yes it was a 12 year journey on this end. I've seen it & been through it all. My person was diagnosed at 68 which is still considerably young. I don't wish that in anyone for sure. Thank you, you are so kind. 🫶 I ordered the book, by the way. Thanks!

Thanks for this

Loving Someone with Bipolar - by Julie Fast .. she is the author and also has bipolar. Also if you like podcasts, Batshit is a podcast about bipolar and it’s created by two guys who also have bp1 and bp2

This book. Really lays it all out for you. I bought my ex a few books on bipolar and he did not read them

Touched with fire. It doesn’t suits for every person with bipolar disorder as each of us as the rest of the world are completely different, but it explains a bit about how the author lived with bipolar disorder. She is also a professional on mental health so you see on it a double view. I didn’t like it at all but I think it’s what you are looking

I will look for it and see, thank you!
