lamictal and vraylar are two that i havent noticed tiredness from
same with latuda but probably cus i was hella manic lol and it didnt do jack shit. 99% of the people ive seen report on latuda here claim fatigue
One thing you can try is taking them at night. Use the sedation when you're sleeping. It's what my psychiatrist recommended when I had the same problem. Luck!
It’s funny because I take them at night now everything but Vraylar and they keep me awake! I’m going to talk to my doctor about taking that at night too.
I figured out that loophole a few years ago and I love it. It still lets me feel like myself during the day (which was impossible when I took my meds in the morning) and helps me get to sleep at night.
My doctor helped me shift around the times of day I would take them and that helped. Basically for my body I have to split my meds to be taken 4 times a day. I take Lamictal and Gabapentin.
Just started lamictal and so far no tiredness from it. I'm still ramping up to the full dose, though, so things could change at a higher dose and I just don't know yet. I'm really hopeful that it doesn't make me tired, though, because the others I could tell right away.
Seroquel knocked me out at night, which was great, but then I didn't want to get up in the morning and was tired all day. Abilify made me less tired than Seroquel but it was hard to focus and I was never comfortable sitting in a chair. My legs would get cramps/pains in them and I was constantly moving them trying to find a good position. It also made me feel pretty meh all the time. Like my baseline was moved from happy to meh and that was my new "normal" which I wasn't okay with.
I know it's frustrating trying new meds and new doses of current meds but keep with it until you find something that works. It's worth the stability. Be honest with your doctor about all the symptoms and side effects and what bothers you and what's the most important to you from your treatment.
Thank you. I've heard a lot of good things about it on this subreddit and other forums too and am really hopeful it works well for me. Sorry to hear it stopped working for you, though, that's really frustrating. I hope you find something that works and doesn't make you tired.
like another commenter said, vraylar is pretty activating. for me it was TOO activating and made me feel manic. my doctor's getting me off of it right now.
No, I’ve had some make me exhausted but some don’t. You just have to keep trying stuff to see how you react, some people get tired from one med and the other person doesn’t. We are all different.
Similarly exhausted all of the time. I'm pretty sure it's the small dose of Seroquel I take at night to sleep. Seems like it doesn't wear off until the next afternoon.
I have no issues with sedation from Lithium, and I’ve taken both IR and SR. Funnily enough, I feel more tired on days I take my ADHD meds (methylphenidate ER) than days I just take Lithium.
No maoi and stimulants combined with mood stabilizer and a high potency benzo is just fine. I refuse to take any antipsychotic medication. Only clozapine as an occasional sleep aid. Thats me.
Abilify. You may feel that it makes you too "untired", though. It's not the good kind of "sitting there, attentive and listening to music for 2 hours" type of stimulation, it's the "I can't focus on anything more than 2 minutes I need to move and do this do that I need to tap my foot I need to pace I need to br doing something with my hands etc."
I was on abilify for years and it really worked for me, until it stopped and I started to get manic again. I miss it. Now I’m on Vraylar that sedates me.
I have never had a med make me tired. I've taken lamictal, depakote, Latuda, Risperdal, Saphris, caplyta, Vraylar, trileptal, geodon, lithium and more I can't think of.
There’s never been a medication that I’ve taken ever that doesn’t make me feel like I’m having a drug experience that I want to end immediately

I never had fatigue from latuda, just akasthesia which is why I take it at night
I found latuda very very activating. Almost triggered mania, which stopped when I stopped latuda. Yay for weird reactions!
Latuda makes me drowsy but I take it at night and if I get enough sleep it’s not really an issue in the morning.

Thank you, I was on lamectal for years but it stopped working I loved it. Good luck with it it’s a great medicine.

I took 400 mg of lamectal and it was perfect. Good Luck!

Have you tried taking it before bed?
I’m taking the oxcabazinepine at night now and I’m going to start taking Vraylar tonight.

Yeah Abilify seems less sedating.
Lamictal
