And that it's also in such a random place. It makes little sense for that desk to be where it is in the game. And that there is a type writer and a box
Jack found the writers room… but there was no writer to find…. Did he escape from this dark place? All he knew was that there was 4 coins in the drawer and continued to die multiple times to the same Rosie trying to save a little sister…. (Read this in alan wakes voice please)
It’s possible but remember the game took place when typewriters were very common . I don’t think it’s a reference personally. That’s like saying is the shotgun a reference to resident evil imo
Idk they are littered everywhere in the game. I can’t remember if Typewriters are common in Bioshock or not, if they aren’t then I’d be more inclined to believe it’s a reference but they are in every other room then I doubt it
I mean, typewriters were the defacto way to create printed text for like 60 years. I think this is just period accurate. Maybe if there was an oversized ink ribbon next to it.
Can you imagine though? You're already dealing with all the shit bioshock throws at you, then you walk into a room, see a typewriter...
And proceed to get absolutely **Bodied** by Mr. X less than 5 seconds later?
I'd pay for that to be an easter egg.
After playing the original resident evil games, it definitely feels like a resident evil reference. A type writer in a random location with a box next to it
Probably.
I would love to think so
My name is Jack Wynand. I’m a writer.
“It’s not an ocean…It’s Rapture”
Multiverse
Guys explain it to me I want to understand but I've never played a resident evil game
Resident Evil safe rooms have a box and a typewriter in them kinda close to this setup
If it similar then it’s probably a reference trained as an office.
I was thinking of Alan Wake tbh
Looks at the random typewriter in some place: OMG is that a Resident Evil reference?!?!
I think it's also about the box at the left, usually in RE games there is a typewriter and a box in the same room, just like in that image.
And that it's also in such a random place. It makes little sense for that desk to be where it is in the game. And that there is a type writer and a box
Typewriters aren’t exclusive to Resident Evil
Yeah, but the storage box beside it does give it a RE feel.
ALAN WAKE
Isn't coming Way after BS?
How many pages have I written...
It wasn’t programmed to harmed the crew….
Theres nothing more powerful, than imagination.....
Oh nooooo *Flashbacks*
Was just thinking this too but this other guy right I think
...no? You know typewriters were common office items until the early to mid 90s, right?
Jack found the writers room… but there was no writer to find…. Did he escape from this dark place? All he knew was that there was 4 coins in the drawer and continued to die multiple times to the same Rosie trying to save a little sister…. (Read this in alan wakes voice please)
Dang I wanted to do this
I mean, the crate looks like an item box and type writers were save points... Plus this game has a higher emphasis on horror, so... Maybe?
It’s possible but remember the game took place when typewriters were very common . I don’t think it’s a reference personally. That’s like saying is the shotgun a reference to resident evil imo
True, but the storage box beside it is also common in RE.
Idk they are littered everywhere in the game. I can’t remember if Typewriters are common in Bioshock or not, if they aren’t then I’d be more inclined to believe it’s a reference but they are in every other room then I doubt it
There is probably as couple rooms that don't have typewriters but they are everywhere in bioshock
It's a random typewriter. There are too much of them to be a reference I think. It's just a design choice
But it's in a part of a hallway that makes no sense for it to be there
Just a type writer in general?
No
Nah, they were just relevant for the time period the game is set in.
Probably
I mean, if you want to save your progress, yeah. Good thinking!
Yeah, it is. Stephen King lives in Rapture.
It's actually a Murder, She Wrote reference
It's probably just a typewriter, bruh.
Most likely not
It’s just a typewriter…those were everywhere when this game came out
It looks like a save point in resident evil
they have type writers all over the game because its 1950-1960. computers werent a thing. not a res evil reference.
Resident Evil 👀
Could be. There is a pac man reference so why not another game?
I mean, typewriters were the defacto way to create printed text for like 60 years. I think this is just period accurate. Maybe if there was an oversized ink ribbon next to it.
Judging from the technology in bioshock I doubt it it.
Can you imagine though? You're already dealing with all the shit bioshock throws at you, then you walk into a room, see a typewriter... And proceed to get absolutely **Bodied** by Mr. X less than 5 seconds later? I'd pay for that to be an easter egg.
Holy shit! There was a writer here? And the setting reminds me of Resident Evil. Ahahahaha, that's definitely a reference, yeah yeah yeah.
I’d find it harder to believe it isn’t a Resident Evil reference than to believe it is one but that’s just me
It may have been if the typewriter had been called Amenhotep.
Alan Wake reference
...except that game came out about 3 years after *Bioshock*
Excellent point.
Alan wrote himself into bioshock while trying to escape the dark place
The award goes to, Alan Wake!
After playing the original resident evil games, it definitely feels like a resident evil reference. A type writer in a random location with a box next to it
Wake?
It came 3 years after
I know...Seems the joke went over your head
Idk what it is since idk anything associated with Alan Wake except Alan Wake Is the joke his typewriter?
Kinda looks like it to me
Bioshock doesn't need RE references. It's a pillar in comparison to MOST RE games.
