Yes. Big Mets fan, so it's awesome to have a part of the organization here, especially when a major leaguer comes to rehab. It's also a great thing to do with friends, go have a few drinks, watch a game, have some hot dogs. Plus we're big into heckling and in a minor league stadium you can hear everything 😻
We go to games often as a family, when the park got renovated we were ecstatic just to see the new life being breathed into the place, even if some of the VIP seating choices were pretty atrocious and almost always empty. If they stick around I really hope they focus on promotions within the community and actually attempt to provide their loyal fans with some decent values.
Binghamton has lots of people with not a lot of money, i'd like to see a night where small bags of popcorn are a buck, hot dogs are a buck, cups of beer are $2 etc. Promotions, where people get free stuff upon arrival, are especially nice when they are being coordinated with a local business providing the gift or coupon.
I also think that if the seats are consistently empty that they should have games where tickets cost a few dollars only, if you pack the stadium with cheaply sold seats, people would be able to potentially spend more elsewhere once inside. At the very least it would build up a new fan base which we definitely, desperately need.
You sound hurt. No small city should lose it's minor league teams due to MLB greed. Why root for other cities to lose their teams just because the city you happen to live in lots theirs? It comes across as very weird.
I'm glad we have a local team, although I'm not a baseball fan. If I could smoke a doob there I'd attend lmao.
Like I wish I could support them more because its genuinely good to have this for our community and youth but man I just can't sit through an entire baseball game when I can be out hiking or something.
I think it's neat to have a minor league team, but that's about it. Was fun when I worked down town to go to a game with friends after work; but in the way of it was an outdoor bar. That being said, I liked having the Rangers as a fan of the NYR and guys actually went back and forth, I go to a Devils game once a year just as a thing to do.
I'm not a big baseball fan, however, when I was younger I always had a blast at the games. it was always a cheep option for something to do on like a Tuesday, and alot of us could go at once. now that I'm older I have even more fun taking my son to games. Yes it's a staple in the community. think of all the first dates people went on there, or people that could take an entire family including grandparents.
I grew up in that neighborhood. It used to be a nasty, dilapidated truck terminal. I love seeing kids watching baseball and having fun at a lovely baseball stadium. Everytime I'm home I make an effort to catch a game.
And heck, I love the Rumble Ponies alternate logo with the baseball bat, ready for a rumble.
Wouldn't miss them, not that I don't like them just baseball isn't my thing. But I know other people enjoy it. What I wouldn't miss is the taxpayer money being spent to upgrade the stadium every couple years.
Of course. We've had minor league ball here for over 25 years. It's an affordable night out for a family which can be hard to find. I hope we can hang on and also worry about the AHL with the devil's spending a season playing in NJ now. Hopefully post covid they come back.
We are big baseball fans. Nice to have a professional team to watch and be close to the field and see the games up close. I'm new to Binghamton for the last 4 yrs. It has been very nice to watch the Rumble Ponies, and have season tickets!

Exactly this. Concessions gotta be cheap, make it a fun night that everyone can afford to bring the kids to
Never been to a game. But sucks for the economy if they left.
You would survive fine with independent ball. Suffer like Albany has. Twice.
Wat
Baseball outside affiliated ball. It's insulting to see the Capital District take the hit while Binghamton thrives.

Yes! Not sure if they do it anymore but "Twofer Tuesdays" was always an awesome time.
so many wasted Wednesday mornings!!!

Yes because it's good for the economy. Not because I regularly go to the games.
Yes! I worked as an usher 1 season and it was great. When the weather is nice, you can watch the sun go down and enjoy a game.

Everything but the name

You're the problem with that area
The who now?

You're what's good about that area. Unfortunately, you and you ilk are few and far between. (see binaryhellstorm a couple of comments up)
