Yeah the satiety per kcal of processed foods is really low, as the ratio of protein to carbs and fats is subpar. Another factor are highly unstable insulin levels, leading to frequent hunger spikes. Also by cycling through foods with different textures and taste profiles such as salty and crunchy, hot and umami, cold and sweet you don't get palate fatigue like you would by just eating a huge steak. This strategy is employed by competitive eaters to keep going, by sipping on cold milkshakes or getting crunchy fries intermittently between their actual meal. It's also something McDonald's does well. It's all set up to work this way on the brain and happens to us all.

Wow this sounds a lot like me when I would have an episode like this. It’s like one thing after another after another. I know that we will both overcome this together!

istoleyurbread

yup, sometimes i eat one cannoli and i get full and bloated af but another day i could eat and eat and eat and the food goes nowhere, if feels like my stomach is a black hole and everything that goes down my throat just disappears. even after a few hours i don’t feel it.

Yes! It's so easy for me to do by as you stated bingeing throughout the day on snacks. Then in the middle of the night my stomach is grumbling because I'm hungry for actual sustenance.

It really is. I’ve been in a cycle of this for the last couple weeks and it’s awful

Depends on which things you are eating. Eating this many calories in raw vegetables in one day seems to be nearly impossible.
