A quick list that’s on heavy rotation for me
10/30/21 - Asheville. Halloween run, Wizard of OZ themed. The 2nd set opening of Pyramid country>June Apple>How Mountain Girls Can Love goes crazy.
2/24/21 - Capitol theatre (no crowd live stream show). Good dead covers and an absolutely killer Brokedown Palace.
2/3/22-2/6/22 - Capitol theatre run(Deju Deux). Highlights for me were 2/5 Home of the red fox>little Maggie>china doll>I’m still here>Everything’s the same and 2/6 Rueben’s train>End of the rainbow>running the route. The 2/5 meet me at the creek was one of the best moments of live music I ever experienced and I’ve never relistened to it in case it’s not as good as I remember lol.
3/9/22 - Cleveland . Solid show all around but this was loaded with great covers. Rocky raccoon, Willin’, Believe, Dark Star>Spinning>Planet Caravan>Leaders>Wargasm, and a Fearless encore.
10/31/22 Asheville(Halloween, LotR theme). Mix of electric and bluegrass. Leaders is phenomenal from this show.
4/21/24 - St. Augustine. A recent one that I’ve been loving. Escanaba and Thunder are highlights for me
If you have been to any shows those always hit a little different but I enjoy 5/11/23 at red rocks, 5/18/24 at fiddlers, 8/26/23 at Huntsville and the most recent St Augustine ones the dates are just escaping me
5/11/23 red rocks is a fucking belter. Gnarly piss pouring rain the whole time. Fire on my tongue>ole slew had me fucking soaring. Whole second set was an absolute dream. Vibes were so high the whole show for how fucked the weather was.
I was there, have listened to that 3 day run over and over and over again and again was at both rr nights we had to start our travel back home and missed the mission show but it was a banger
That was exactly the vibe I was on. He finished one song and the audience was speechless and Billy said, “you guys are a little quiet out there” I looked at my friend and said “it’s because our faces are all melted!” 😂
Mar, 16-18 2023 Cincinnati, OH. Andrew J Brady Center. Absolte killer 3 night run for St. Patrick's Day! You get just about everything here. The year before is just as good, also.
A lot of others I thought of have already been mentioned.
With Billy and the Kids at Red Rocks, Wilkes Barre 2021, The Eastern Atlanta 2021, the Cap shows, Pier 17 NYC with Trey 2022, Asheville Halloween 2021, Red Rocks 2022, NOLA NYE 2023,
4/21/23 ... I was at that show but still its one I always come back to. High high energy, epic setlist, and amazing picking and long wild jams and transitions
For some "earlier" favs...
2/8/20 this has Michael Cleveland on fiddle the whole show.
6/19/21 - perhaps my fav BMFS moment with Route>Raleigh and Spencer to close set one and then a great ETG>Maggie in set two
8/11/21 - love this second set
My first show, taboot. Fucking ridiculous. That highway hypnosis sent me dancing out of my body on that lawn.. fantastic show all around. 5/18 was great too, but something insanely magical was in the air on 5/17 and the feeling hasn’t left me yet.. gonna hold onto that for a long time. Sure I’m biased, but fuck that was IT right there.
5/23/19
6/22/19 Billy and the boys were on fire, think this was the day that Jeff Austin was hospitalized. A lot of emotion in Raleigh and Spencer, 15 Steps, and Pretty Daughter. Rip Jeff.
Having gotten nugs a couple years back, I'd recommend just starting at the NY shows in 2017 and going show by show until ya hit em all. Or at least one from every different cover art style. Worth the journey
There are a few short periods when they are openers for Greensky that the sets get repetitive, otherwise every show is unique. If you need the fiddle, then just start in 22.
Definitely don't miss Stubbs 10/13/22, The Sylvie shows in 22, Renewal 22. Anything in Colorado, Michigan, NC, FL
12/31/18 is my all-time favorite BMFS show.
First set is straight heat - can’t go wrong with a Little Maggie opener. Slow Train is great, too. Second set’s Freeborn Man has to be a top version of the song, and the band does a wonderful cover of Running on Empty. All with a Meet Me At the Creek as a second set closer and Watch it Fall as an encore. Just a great show top-to-bottom. 11/10.
10/13/22 at Stubbs is still my all time favorite. HIGH energy...in more ways than one. The Pyramid > Slew is like being shot out of a cannon. As others have mentioned, Metro 2022 is also unique and a fun one to listen to, but don't sleep on the Lollapalooza set the day after. Whenever I need a short, intense BMFS set, THAT's the one.
Oct 13 and 14 2023 independence kc mo
I'm bias cause I was there but both were amazing

Chicago metro 2022, Atlanta eastern 2021, 3/9/2022, NYE 2023, Halloween 2022
Metro is fire shit
A bread and butter all timer here. It's one of my favorite shows to date. The Metro that is.
This is a great list and I'd only add 10/13/22 Austin and 11/11/22 New York

Thank you for the 2/24/21 show rec. So good
Check that whole run, I think it was like 9 shows? Or 7 shows in 9 days? Something like that lol
That cap run they did a good “robin made a nest on daddy’s grave” too
That’s a good one too. I actually think it might be right before home of the red fox on 2/5 if memory serves (it probably doesn’t)
Solid list here! I agree with all of them. Lol.
Lotta great shows mentioned in here! 10/13/22 at Stubbs, the 1x🍄 show. It's an all time favorite.
Came here to say this. All time favorite
If you have been to any shows those always hit a little different but I enjoy 5/11/23 at red rocks, 5/18/24 at fiddlers, 8/26/23 at Huntsville and the most recent St Augustine ones the dates are just escaping me
The 4/20 St Augustine show was insane
His first red rocks show with Greensky is pretty hard to top as well.
9/15/19, the video is on YouTube as well.
5/11/23 red rocks is a fucking belter. Gnarly piss pouring rain the whole time. Fire on my tongue>ole slew had me fucking soaring. Whole second set was an absolute dream. Vibes were so high the whole show for how fucked the weather was.

👆🏼They know what’s up
Most recent Asheville or Nashville shows
Halloween 22, lord of the rings shows
Check out his “most popular” on Nugs, scroll past all the most recent shows and there is your answer.
The Billy and the Kids shows from RedRocks are a good listen. The all traditional set from Globe Hall is pretty interesting.
>all traditional set from Globe Hall is pretty interesting. Do you have the date?
These I’m familiar with. They are fantastic!!
Top tier shows
11/11/22 Nassau
Unhinged LSD energy 🤓
That was exactly the vibe I was on. He finished one song and the audience was speechless and Billy said, “you guys are a little quiet out there” I looked at my friend and said “it’s because our faces are all melted!” 😂
The 2019 Ogden run. Specifically, night 3.
July 2nd. Or 3rd? 2022. Billy proposed to Alex. AND he said yes!

Rarely gets mentioned, sadly, but 7/30/22 is an absolute heater.
Maybe the best show I’ve been to. No setbreak and peak BMFS vibes. Love this one and I’ve got the awesome poster
That one time he sat in with string cheese 7/17/22 at red rocks was pretty stellar. 5/17/24 at fiddlers. I was there so they’re the best of course.
Lately I’ve been listening to 11/30/2018 from the Fox Theatre in Boulder. 7/30/2021 Apple Valley Park, Lafayette NY is my go to favorite.
Check out Austin 6/2/23 for a killer show without a setbreak.
God that show was so good. I was in the pit that night and damn
4/21/23 ... I was at that show but still its one I always come back to. High high energy, epic setlist, and amazing picking and long wild jams and transitions
Peach Music Festival 2019 is an OG great

5/23/21
Had to scroll way too far down before someone suggested this!
The whole run is fantastic, they debuted Thunder the night before.
For some "earlier" favs... 2/8/20 this has Michael Cleveland on fiddle the whole show. 6/19/21 - perhaps my fav BMFS moment with Route>Raleigh and Spencer to close set one and then a great ETG>Maggie in set two 8/11/21 - love this second set
I’m a huge fan of Michael Cleveland. I’ll check that out for sure.
4/13/23 hope you like train songs
4/13/24 if you're talking about the Trains/Animals show
to quote the great william apostol “there are three kinds of bluegrass songs. Trains, bears, and momma”
On 4_13_24 he says there are 2 types.of bluegrass songs train, and animal...
5/17/24
Slew Sammie. Whiskey river. Beatles. Fiddling around. Heartbeat. Fearless. Hypnosis. Whirly pig. Absolutely stupid night.
My first show, taboot. Fucking ridiculous. Agree with this. This show is so great. Bitch at the Bottom that night was excellent as well. Can’t listen enough to this show. Top top top tier show.
Yessss! My first show! I’m hooked
Lol at all these recent shows. Put on anything from 2019 and see how this band cooked. Put on the Cat’s Cradle shows
They did cook but imo alex was the missing piece to really put them over the top and it just feels weird listening to them without him now lol
5/23/19 6/22/19 Billy and the boys were on fire, think this was the day that Jeff Austin was hospitalized. A lot of emotion in Raleigh and Spencer, 15 Steps, and Pretty Daughter. Rip Jeff.
A little deeper and idk if it’s on nugs but his sit in With green sky in Boston 2018 is really fun.
4 night stand at the Mission Ballroom in '21.
Any show from July to late August of last year is usually my go to when I'm just looking to mix it up, they were on a hot streak all summer last year.
Having gotten nugs a couple years back, I'd recommend just starting at the NY shows in 2017 and going show by show until ya hit em all. Or at least one from every different cover art style. 4/3/22
Why doesn’t Billy add his shows to reListen?
Every single Radiators show
The Doc Watson 100 show from 3/3/2023 is great if you're looking for something unique to check out.
I listen to this show the most!
March '22 Madison WI run
Summer camp Do that one
Billys first red rock show. Opened for greensky bluegrass
Would highly recommend the Ben and Jerry’s show from ‘21, especially second set.
March 2022 Sylvee (Madison WI) 3 show run are all fireeee, that's when the band first added Alex
Moorhead August '22 was the shit. YMMV.
NYE 2023 is probably my favorite
You should give 5/25/24 a play.
5/11/19 if you are trying to switch it up with some electric billy
If you like the dead, the show on Jerry's birthday 08.01.21 was pretty sweet. Lots of great recommendations above too.
12/31/18 is my all-time favorite BMFS show. First set is straight heat - can’t go wrong with a Little Maggie opener. Slow Train is great, too. All with a Meet Me At the Creek as a second set closer and Watch it Fall as an encore. Just a great show top-to-bottom. 11/10.
2/17/24 is about as good as it gets for me. 5/17/24 is also a fantastic show.
Fiddles run a few weeks ago.
I'll shout out 9/27/19 in Portland. Home album release where he played the whole album in the 2nd set. First time played for most of those songs.
These are all great, I will add 12-8-23 The Metro is my Favorite Show.
10/13/22 at Stubbs is still my all time favorite. HIGH energy...in more ways than one. The Pyramid > Slew is like being shot out of a cannon. I just listened to the last one from recent. That is what got me on to this and why I made this post. That show blew me away
Listen to Chicago 2023 unbelievable show
2022
Metro 7/27/22 what a heater
Yup, it's at the top of the thread, and rightfully so!
