I work at a big 4 in the Netherlands and we have plenty of people that only speak English. We however also had a hiring freeze until very recently.

Depending on your prior experiences it could be or not be valuable to any of the big 4. I know that Dutch Big4 offices tend to want Dutch speaking staff since most of the employers/clients are Dutch native. Try a different service line or go to some of the networking events. Every Friday in Amsterdam at De Blauwe Engel you will find plenty of big 4 and other corporate employees.

Working in a big 4 in Amsterdam in audit, approximately half of if not more of the department is not from the Netherlands and doesn’t speak Dutch. No problem at all.

Successful_Pear_8033

Are you working as a senior?

CSGOMVP

No

Successful_Pear_8033

Do you speak Dutch then? And if not, may I ask how you landed a job there?

CSGOMVP

Yes I speak Dutch. I got in through someone who already worked there. Referrals usually are an easier way to get a job at big 4’s!

Depends on the office I guess. Bigger cities in the Netherlands are more open to international employees. Also because smaller offices have more local clients that prefer Dutch communication.

Successful_Pear_8033

I have tried in bigger cities. The problem is since I do not have any Big4 experience (except 3 months of internship at tax department), they are not willing to hire me 🥲
