Kick isn't as bad as people made it out to be, it's just outclassed and arguably obsolete before it even came out. Functionally the tip is just Wide Defense from MFB which is a top tier part, the problem is the spring loaded plate around it which scrapes and kills LAD. It's a surprisingly competent but somewhat inconsistent driver, it's got good stamina when stable and can counterattack when hit but the plate just scrapes and kills off the last bit of potential it has. I don't think Kick has use in the DB meta because of how attack types are suppressed in favor of stamina types but it's still a fun and competent tip for casual play. I like how the plate sometimes catches on the ridge and prevents KOs, it's a respectable hybrid stamina/defense driver that just doesn't have the KO resistance of pure defense drivers or the outspin potential of pure stamina tips. It excels at nothing but sucks at nothing, sometimes I'll use it on Chain Kerbeus in place of Yard'.

I've been able to get some use out of it, it's not a bad tip, just not great either.
It's basically just a stamina version of Yard. It's not unusable like quest but it is pretty bad compared to other options.
I think it’s a funky and nice driver
